In this heart-stopping conclusion to the Maui Island Series, the four grown Briscoe siblings—Christel, Aiden, Katie, and Shane—share the joys, heartaches, and headaches of dealing with life and family issues. The four lean on one another while one of the Briscoes faces the challenges of falling in love, and another finds her dream come true when a baby is abandoned on the steps of the Maui Rescue Center. Kellie Coates Gilbert wraps up her Maui Series in more than lavalava, muumuu, and holoku. Grab a box of tissues for tears of joy as this extended family and friends pull you in many directions to prove to you when family sticks together it all works out. The Briscoes believe family is everything.
Sadly, this is the end of a great series. The Briscoe family has endured hardships after the death of the patriarch. The themes of family, love, and support run throughout the book. It is filled with beautiful descriptions of Hawaiian life, scenery, and food.
Christal still has her dream of becoming a mother. Will God answer her prayers? Aiden is continuing to look for love. Ava and Tom continue to see each other. Will changes be in store for the family dynamics?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Kellie is an amazing author and she has put her heart and soul into this series and especially this book. The Briscoe family owns a pineapple plantation on Maui. In this book there are many touching moments and some dreams come true. Ms Gilbert does a superb job of describing the scenery in each location of the story and she makes all the characters and situations so realistic. I’m sad this series is ending but maybe if we beg there can be follow up books about the children as they grow.😃 Thank you Kellie for this wonderful series! No one should miss reading it.
What a wonderful ending to a fabulous series. Although the Briscoe family has ups and downs, they stick together. Every character has grown through the seven books of this series. Wishes and prayers are sometimes answered in ways never imagined. The island of Maui is portrayed so beautifully that the reader longs to be there. I highly recommend this book and, indeed, the series.
I read this book as an ARC and wish to thank Kellie Coates Gilbert and the publishers for the opportunity. The ideas contained in this review are strictly my own.
I’m so sad to see the Maui island series end! I do love that it is such a happy ending. I have enjoyed watching these character experience loss and find love again. Ava, the glue that has held the family together after the sudden death of her husband, Lincoln, has found love with a wonderful man. Each of her children are in happy healthy relationships with bright futures ahead. Thank you so much to the author for the ARC. This review is my own opinion.
My heart aches a bit that this is the last book in this series, I love this family, I love thier stories. I have always said that this author is amazing , her writing hits close, many readers can resonate with the characters. I highly recommend reading this series .
Saying “see ya later” to old friends always makes you shed a tear. The last book in the Maui series wraps things up nicely. So glad to see happiness and togetherness as themes.
I absolutely loved this series. I am so sad that it has come to an end. I love the setting of Maui and I cannot wait to get back and discover new places mentioned in the series .
Great ending to the series. I'm sad that it is over though. It has been great to follow along with all the Briscoe' s and watch them deal with and overcome the things that life threw at them.
