Barney's Book of Colors is about Barney going around town meeting up with his paintbrush friends. Each paintbrush is unique because they are all different colors. This book goes over all the basic colors and in the end they all come together.
I liked this book because it rhymed and flowed together nicely. I liked how when a color is mention that it is written in that color, for example orange is written in the color orange. The book was full of lively vibrant pictures.
If I use this book in the classroom I would use it to teach children how to spell the main colors because at elementary age they probably already know the basic colors in the book. Students could follow along reading the book and write down the colors as they go to know how to spell them. Afterward students could practice how to spell their colors and later in the week have a spell quiz.
