Super Babies may be little, but they're BIG on adventure. Take a nap when there's fun to be had at the playground? Not Mia! Take a bath when you and your dog can go out exploring? Not Max! These busy babies have places to go and exciting missions to accomplish.
Salina Yoon introduces these charming new characters in a bright and playful toddler book with two separate stories. With directional words describing where they're going and brightly colored animals to identify, this will be a lively lap read.

Wow, the other reviewers of this book are such harsh critics! I thought the idea of babies crawling all over the city was hilarious, and my four-year-old seemed amused. She was also fascinated that you could flip the book over and have two stories in one book.
My only complaint was the stereotypical pink/blue segregation of girl/boy, and although they both went on adventures, only the boy got to wear a cape to designate he was a "super" baby, and the boy was allowed to get a lot dirtier and have a bath afterwards, instead of a nap.
Two stories in one. Cute! What I liked about this book was that the author introduced action language - learning by doing, and she also presented spatial concepts. The book was easy to follow and the illustrations were simple with clean lines. The only thing that I did not have a yes-plus about was the slightly confusing sequential order on the trips made back by Mia and Max. This had more to do with page layout than anything else.
Rating: 3.25 Recommend: Yes (I would encourage parents to use a follow up game or chant to reinforce the spatial concepts.)
Cute enough stories (this is a flip book, where there is one story going one way and another story going the other way) but I have a hard time believing this will appeal to the toddlers it portrays. Would probably work better for a preschool audience, which wouldn't be quite as interested in the whole baby theme.
I wanted to like this book, but I was too worried about the safety of all those babies crawling off without anyone noticing. I'm pretty sure my mama would notice if I crawled off across streets and parks. I don't think the babies' knees could handle the crawling terrain. We read this once and I sent it back to the library.
I don't like the format of this book because the reader has to flip the book over to read the second story. The term "super" babies is confusing - no super baby indication in the story line, at all. The cartoon illustrations are cute.
The text in this book was very simple for the very early reader or those being read to, but the book had no warmth to it. It was pretty matter of fact. Too many other great books out there for this same age group.
eh. two books in one, neither that great. babies leave the house and crawl on adventures. very bright and bold illustrations are the most attractive aspect of the book. didn't speak to me.
pb19: I find this really cute, and liked that it was a flip book with two different stories. I feel like kids would get a kick out of picking which one they like better.
