This is an early reader, very little info about Karate is included. However for a young or early reader interested in Karate this is a good choice. My Kindergartener was able to read it with help and enjoyed the book's topic-Karate. Another good choice for a child (especially a boy) in Karate is Chip and the Karate Kick

This is a simple book and very cute for my martial arts boy. We don't know what "gi" is because my son does aikido, not karate.

After we read this, we did aikido together.
