The Domestic Equalizers are on the case. 🕵🏻‍♀️ Debbie Sue’s old cowboy boyfriend hires them to find who is stealing his identity. Meanwhile he has a date with another lady he’s met on line. This is a surprise to the lady since her preteen daughter submitted her profile.
Good story with lots of humor! 😁

Another adventure with Debbie Sue Overstreet and her best pal Edwina––the Domestic Equalizers. I love this series as the characters are delightful and down home hilarious. Quint Matthews an old boyfriend of Debbie Sue is back. He is a character for sure, a legend in his own mind lol. He needs help due to an identity theft issue and to find the woman he thinks is doing it.
This series has mysteries, intrigue, romance and so much humor. Yeah, if you want everything to be politically correct this is not the series for you. If you were raised in the country with animals, horses and cowboys the humor is quirky and so funny.

Dixie writes such colorful, funny stories, I read one of her books years ago and now I definitely want to read more. Ending was a bit rushed and abrupt, but I was enjoying the story so much I didn’t realize there was only 20 pages left in the book.

DNF at page 26. I was not crazy about this book from the get go, because the pacing was ridiculously fast (by page 2, we're already thrown directly into the middle of the story), and usually I would just put it down and not even list it as "read" on Goodreads or leave a negative review. But this book more than earned a 1-star rating when the author referred to a transwoman as "he/she/it." That is NOT okay with me. Not okay at ALL.

Below is my review from 8 years ago. It still stands. I do adore this series, these characters and this premise.
I can definitely recommend this book, this series and this author.
***************
Oh, how I love this series. I did have to suffer through DH's chatter about some 'anomalies' in the logic, but I know to go with the flow...anomalies schanomalies....Debbie Sue and Ed crack me the hell up!
The mystery kind of meanders and really doesn't make a show until later in the book and that's okay, too. It's also secondary to the sort of romance between Allison and Quint, then later really heats up between Allison and Tag, the best friend of Quint. Allison meets Quint via her daughter's good intentions of the online dating service. She thinks Quint is easy on the eyes, but a little full of himself. Quint takes her to a restaurant that his best friend owns and Allison meets Tag...owner of the restaurant. And they keep meeting up and falling more for each other, but unwilling to do more about it because of Quint.
Quint is in his own world of trouble and hires Debbie Sue and Edwina to help him out. Debbie Sue still thinks of Quint as a good friend and everyone else thinks Quint is an egotistical ex-boyfriend of Debbie Sue, in particular Debbie Sue's husband.
Favorite scene in the book is the 'toy' party...O..M..G!!! It has to be read or listened to, I really cannot do it justice here....but...O..M..G funny!
Please do yourself a favor, if you like a funny mystery, please get this book, this series!
Five funny funny Texas diamonds.....

Oh how I love Dixie Cash! This book was so much fun and had me in stitches! Edwina and Debbie Sue are at it again! Doing hair, gossiping, drinking margarita's and solving mysteries! This times mystery is a case of stolen identity and a stalker. I feel as though Debbie Sue and Edwina could be my best friends! The senior citizen ladies throw a sex toy party and I think my whole face hurt from laughing through that ordeal! Definitely read this fun series!

Picked at Goodwill for two big ones just cause I thought the title was really funny. Mildly entertaining, but also insanely southern and medium to high problematic. For some reason one of the key players is a trans woman who is referred to in every mention as either he/she or Eugene/Janine??? Also a murder mystery where all of the murder is shoved into the last 50 pages. I leave you with a quote that I believe captures the true essence of the book: “In the testosterone-steeped world of rodeo competition, an affair with a transsexual was more disastrous than having a bad case of diarrhea when you had drawn a rank bull.”

Book Three - Another Awesome Book!

This book was awesome from beginning to end! The story line was great, sometimes humorous and sometimes serious and most of all fascinating to read. I would recommend these books to everyone I know and anyone seeking a book worth reading from beginning to end! I have since given all copies of the books to friends, relatives, etc. Infact, I have two copies of each book in my own collection and I love reading and rereading each one. Even the titles are always interesting to read, lol. Please keep the books coming.

This one was fun as usual. It was kinda nice to get a bit more from Quint, although he's still a scoundrel so the fact that he didn't get the girl worked for me, he still needs to mature quite a bit. Allison and Tag were nice and all but for most of their interactions it was just "Allison/Tag was so hot, Allison/Tag is so nice to talk to" without us actually SEEING them interacting. But at least we know they both like kids. I have also discovered o REALLY don't care about rodeo clowns or bullfighting.

The Domestic Equalizers set out to help their old friend Quint Matthews. He is being scammed out of lots of money and it turns out he is about to be in even more trouble. Allison Barker has no idea her 12 year old daughter has signed her up for internet dating. Allison finds out shortly before her date shows up and everything gets all mixed up. Fun read!

Cute but the necessary deceptions that lead to the necessary misunderstandings don't gibe with what else we are told about our heroine. The woman the author describes, thinks for, talks for etc. would simply have told the truth the first night period. Ha ha the end.

The award of the book with the cheesiest title goes to... 😂 I often buy secondhand books online by the lot, and that's how I ended up with this book. It was my first time reading a romance novel set in Texas and it was Hallmark-y. Just not my cup of tea.

I honestly had a lot of good laughs at this book… The more in this series I read the more I enjoy it. It’s been a while between books so I appreciate that. You don’t really need to know or remember the other books in the series to follow and like the plot of this one.

I enjoyed the romance. The crime part came really late. Still a good story. Can't wait to see what Debbie Sue and Edwina get into next!

I Gave You My Heart, but You Sold it on Line, by Dixie Cash, b-plus, narrated by Peggity Price, produced by Lone Star Books, a division of Recorded Books, and downloaded from audible.com.

This book takes the story on after the solving of the murder of the rancher’s wife. In this book, Buddy and Debbie Sue have re-married, and Edwina has married her former navy seal boy friend, Vic Martin. We are introduced in this book to Allison Barker, a young woman raising a daughter alone, the daughter just having turned twelve. They are living with Allison’s mother, and they run a vintage clothing shop. Allison’s daughter, Jill, wanting a father like all her other friends, puts a personal ad on line on her mother’s behalf. Allison finds out about it when a famous cowboy turns up at her door. This cowboy, Quent Matthews, has a history with Debbie Sue and so is hated by Buddy. Allison doesn’t tell Quent that her daughter made up her online story. Quent, in the meantime, doesn’t tell Allison that he is trying to track down a previous woman he met on line who subjected him to identity theft. He hires Debbie Sue and Edwina to track down this woman. They take out personal ads using Buddy’s picture. There are capers in this book as well. Debbie Sue is persuaded to let a bunch of old ladies, customers of her, use the beauty shop one night for what they call a toys party. Debbie Sue, Allison, and Edwina show up for the party expecting to buy toys for their nieces and nephews for Christmas, and it turns out to be a party selling sex toys. The sheriff, (who took over after Buddy) finds the party in session and arrests all 26 women who carry on all the way to jail and beyond. Again, there are laugh-out-loud moments in this book. Quentin finds the woman with Debbie Sue’s help, and he goes to see her. Shortly afterward she turns up dead. Quent is arrested. Then Debbie Sue and Edwina, the Domestic Equalizers, with Allison’s help, track down what really happened and free Quent. A good light read.
