A beautifully well-written tour through the geology, flora, fauna, indigenous populations, European settling, habitat destruction, attempts at conservation and their complex interactions throughout the history of the plot of Terra we now call "Ohio".

A fascinating anthology combining the observations of nearly 30 experts across 19 chapters like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle to provide one of the most comprehensive views of Ohio ever published.

One of the best natural history books I've ever read.
