Very good introduction to one of Vietnam's younger writers -- post war, written in the 1990s. 9 short stories, a couple of them showing off an off-beat imagination and the title story, a novella. He's written novels more recently which, as I've read, are very popular among Vietnamese younger readers.

I wasn't capture by Ho Anh Thai's writing, though I'm glad I stuck through to the end, as the final story ("Behind the Red Mist") was easily my favorite of the lot. None of this was bad, but just ok, in my mind.
