In this book the author has presented a clear and simple explanation of how Rebirthing works, and how we can make it work in all areas of our lives. He also takes us on an exciting journey deep into our own soul. Rebirthing is not a religion or cult, but is simply a tremendously powerful and effective method of healing and personal growth, using the breath to cleanse the mind/body energy systems, of stress, freeing us to experience our natural flow, joyful aliveness and creative self-expression.
This is an earnest and well intended book. I got it when I was about 20 and right at the start of my exploration of what would become known as New Age literature. I really liked it when I first read it. I never did complete any rebirthing. I think I was a bit frightened to!
Now reading it again after 35 years, it fell a bit flat for me. The idea that we create our own reality and every experience we have we asked for to learn from is deeply flawed and, to victims of crimes and natural disasters, deeply offensive. The idea that we can totally heal ourselves by eliminating negativity or that negativity causes illness is also deeply flawed. Re-reading lead me to reflect on my own “spiritual journey” and I may be reacting against my own perceived young naivety as much as the naivety of these kinds of self help books.
I've read many books on rebirthing all of which are good as it's an amazing technique, but this book rates as one of the best. Martin Woodward author of The Golden Sphere - An Introduction to Rebirthing and A Course in Miracles .
