Joy Simmons has one goal, take care of her sister and make sure she has the best education that she is able to provide. Joy has never been one to shirk her duties and she promised her mother that she would take care of Dymond. When a series of events happen in her life all at once, she has to make some harsh decisions, top of the list is getting back to the cop who catches her eyes from the moment she first saw him.
Logan Scott is on the hunt for a killer and after a gunshot wound lands him in the hospital, he’s chomping at the bit to get back on the street. His luck turns however when his nurse turn out to be a woman who makes him perk up and take a second look. He is so fascinated with her he immediately makes a play for her.
Joy and Logan have more than their fair share of problems to deal with before they can get any sort of relationship going. Joy’s main priority is her sister and Logan’s is catching a killer who’s only too determined to elude him. Can these two find the time between their priorities for each other or do they both need to redefine what exactly their priorities are?
Ms. Rochelle may just be onto another winner with CROSSING THE RAILROAD. I read the excerpt of this book months ago and the finished product has surpassed all my expectations.
Joy has had her share of hardships, all she wants is for her sister to get on with her education and get her life together. When she meets a man who gives her cause to hope for more, can she juggle wants and needs to make everyone including herself happy?
Logan rolls with the punches and his main priority at the moment is going after the guy who shot him, that is until he meets Joy. She rocks his world more than even he would have imagined, but there are dark clouds on both their horizons and it looks like a downpour is imminent whether they are ready for it or not.
There are two storylines running through this book, and Ms. Rochelle has used her skill to build not only sexual tension, but a thrilling mystery that had me literally flying through the pages. CROSSING THE RAILROAD was satisfying to the very end.

Cop meets nurse
Logan is shot while trying to get a wanted criminal. Joy is the nurse assigned to him while he recovers. They're both attracted to each other. Logan makes the first move to get the woman he wants. Joy has some younger sister drama she has to deal with but she's wants to pursue things with Logan, too.
