Playboy Advertising mogul Alec Mercer sees nothing wrong with mixing business and pleasure. That is until he discovers his ex-assistant had sabotaged his clients contract renewals, because of a broken heart. The mistake could have cost him millions in revenue. He swears he's going to straighten out his personal life. Starting with proposing to his on again off again socialite girlfriend Erica, and settle down.
All Mary wanted for Christmas was a man who could love her as she was. Mary Christmas, yep…that's her name. She’s a big woman with a big heart. She wears glasses and not too pretty but she’s as jolly as the come. Working in an office full of beautiful slim women can be trying. Having a secret crush on the boss,Alec Mercer, was downright ridiculous. There was no way a guy like that could like someone like her, or so she believed.
Now that Mary got her Christmas wish in the flesh, what is she going to do about it?

I love this story and I've read if over 5 times. Alec and Mary are two people looking for love. Alec, an unhappily engaged rich advertising mogul playboy needs an assistant he can resist sexually. Mary, a big beautiful woman with a crush on the mogul, just happens to stop by his office and he offers her the opportunity to work directly with him during the Christmas holiday. Their journey in discovering their love for each other has its ups and downs but Alec finds he is willing to fight through Mary's defenses to claim her after realizing he wants what his parents have, a loving marriage, and not what society thinks he should want. I really love this story and that's why I've read it so many times.
Cute but not one of my favorites from Ms. McCarver because though I liked the set up of the story Mary got on my last nerve. Don't get me wrong she's likable but her insecurities though legitimate were handled in such a way that just... As for Alec, I got it, he was a guy who when he realized what he wanted he went for it. There were some inconsistencies with backgrounds but nothing to steer one away from the story.
I really liked this story. I really liked Mary and Alec as characters. The grammatical errors were overwhelming. At times I was trying to interpret what the author was saying. It was as if Shiree McCarver just wrote and published it without anyone reviewing the manuscript. Wow! No matter how gifted we may think we are - everyone needs fine tuning and improvement.
I have had this book for a while and this is my third time reading it again. I love it and the characters are adorable. You will not want to put it down until you finish it. Please get it today you will not be disappointed. Great author.
Alec Mercer is in desperate need for an assistant over the Christmas holiday and in walks Mary Christmas. Alec will get more than he expected and everything he didn’t know he needed with Ms. Christmas.
I stumbled upon this book and I'm glad I did. It was absolutely wonderful. It made a laugh out loud and it made me cry. I was hoping there was a second book but I realized this book came out in 2011, if I'm not mistaken. I really hope there's a second book.
This is the first time that I have really paid attention to a book that has a Christmas plot and I am glad I did. I love the backdrop to this story everyone wants a great Christmas. I would buy this if you want a book that would give you that Christmas sprit that all Christmas movies do.
I hate this author's writing style, but I'm going to finish the book and the sequel to see if I actually like them...3.5 stars, I liked the book and love story but the grammar and spelling mistakes were atrocious. I also felt the story was a little slow moving but at the same time the 'falling in love' part a little too abrupt.
There were a lot of grammatical and spelling mistakes but the story itself was amazing! The only problem I had with the actual story was Mary Christmas sometimes got a little annoying. I couldn't understand why she kept pushing him away, I guess it's because her and I are so much different that I just didn't understand it. But like I already said amazing book and the sequel is awesome too!
This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last.
I loved Alec and Mary's story. The author made the story about them and how they felt about each other and how Mary had to learn to trust Alec. I loved their honesty with each other. I absolutely loved this story one of the best Christmas Stories I have read this month!
