I can tell when someone is lying. And I know when they speak the truth. I predict about the future, about our civilization, And I've predicted that we are going to lose the war. I'm not afraid to use predictive skills to break the rules--to break people--if it's necessary for the greater good. My relationship with my brother may be strained, but he's in trouble, And I'm going to get him out...whatever it takes.
Publishers note: Predictive is a science fiction, action-thriller set against a backdrop of a colonization war.
In a secret garden hidden behind a wall of shrubs and trees amid a tiny English village, you'll find L.V. Lane's writing den, where she crafts spicy adventures...Magical and mythical creatures, wolf shifters, and alphas of every flavor give our sweet, sometimes willful omegas and heroines a guaranteed HEA. The main character, Eva is a rare commodity in a universe at war. She can accurately predict the future. Sent to a mining planet under attack by the Federation, Eva is caught up in all sorts of subterfuge, a compelling attraction to the enigmatic commander, Landon, and a quest to save her brother, Eric. Whilst the main characters were well-fleshed out and the plot fast and furious, I did not quite get to grips with who all the warring factions were, or why they were at war. There were times when I felt the author, who clearly knows this world inside out, could have expanded on it more for the reader. I frequently had the feeling I had missed something. For me, the writing appeared rushed and, at times, lacking finesse. Fore instance, there are some rather graphic sex scenes which, to my mind, would have benefited from a lighter, more sensual touch. That said, I am sure this author will be one to watch and wish her all the best in her future writing projects.
In Miss Lane’s first dip into the Science Fiction pool she conquers the deep end with elegance. Using the words triggers and predictions in ways that are not common, but in a military way vocabulary, genus. Broadening readers worlds of investigation into military intelligence. Using Eva, a Predictive, her colleague Landon, and sometime lover and sometime adversary Jax to tell the war between the Federation and Aterra, we get to see a new type of Science Fiction and Crime genre hybrid. Eva uses her heart along with her brain to provide the Aterra Command her Predictions. Landon and his Marines just have to carry their orders out. The Federation seems to get in the way though. By being sent to Illa can Eva save the mining planet Nammu unlike she could not save Reveen? Let’s hope this Prediction turns out to be true.
This story is suspenseful, gripping and thrilling to read. Right from chapter one I was highly intrigued and couldn’t put the book down. It kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what was going to happen next.
The characters are all very unique in their own ways but Eva is the ultimate uniqueness! Her abilities are very rare and don’t come around very often. This makes her a very strong, witty and fierce woman that many have a hard time contending with.
The storyline is fascinating and intriguing. This amazing author writes such descriptive worlds and unique characters that it feels like we are right in the story with them. This one is definitely worth reading.
I'm not much for Sci-Fi or Military fiction as a general rule, but L.V. Lane's an automatic yes from me on pretty much anything she writes, but ESPECIALLY Sci-Fi and Military fiction. I'm never disappointed and always thoroughly enjoy her work. The world is well developed and expansive, the characters are varied and believable. There's a lot to unpack in the storyline, and the slow burn build up of danger/tension had me so anxious to see what was going to happen that I considered skipping to the end a few times just to relieve the pressure. It's a unique world with a creative twist on some of the genre norms. L.V. is a fabulous story-teller. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
I read this in one sitting. Sci-fi suspense with a smattering of romance, but that wasn't the focus. Has an old-school hard scifi feel to it. Super swoony hero and heroine is likable. Can't wait to read the next one!
Definitely going to give this a read, but the description of the book is unusual. It appears more like a huge info dump than a good story hook. Still not quite sure what this book is really about, is it a romance, a sci-fi, a blend of genres? I usually like to know before I buy the book.
Edit - author has altered the blurb into an actual blurb, looks interesting.
I have enjoyed reading stories from this author before but more on her romance genre and with this book being more in the sci fi genre, I just had to read it. The world building in this story with the characters history and the war between the Federation and the Empire was exceptional, and once I read past this the action, intrigue and thrilling suspense and a twist I wasn’t expecting kept the story flowing till the end.. Eva Is a predictive, as she can predict and see certain events and has predicted the end of her world as she knows it.. so when Eva predicts her brothers capture by the enemy, and becomes a reality, she will try everything to stop it happening...

Eva is predictive. She has the rare ability to predict the future, and yes, she predicted the end of the world. She is on a race to save her brother and the mining colony he is protecting. Nothing will stand in her way, not the generals and commanders on New Earth, not even her own senses.
I enjoyed this read. Eva is a headstrong and opinioned woman. The male leads in this book is fantastic. This is not a romance but there are romantic elements, with strong attraction between the characters.
I can't wait for the next in this series; hopefully, there will be, as we see Eva and the survivors recolonize a new world.
Possibly one of the best science fiction books I think I have ever read and I was raised on the H.G. Wells, Robert Heinlen, Issac Asimov and the rest. I have that least 60 years of reading under my belt so I feel that when I say this writer is great it's not to be dismissed. She mixes adventure love and mysticism into the mix.
This book was so different from what I usually read but I loved every moment of it the storyline and characters where absolutely amazing definitely a must read keep up the amazing work
An exciting trip through the universe with Eva. She is special. This was a ride of adventure, action, and suspense through space. The characters keep you thinking, the twists and turns of the plot, and definitely a thriller. The only thing that would make it better is to listen to it.
As a lover of all things books I have found myself gravitating towards a certain type of book lately. In this I discovered an amazing author who has made me venture into another sub-genre that I think I will be fast falling in love with.
L.V. Lane drew me in with her Dark OV - RH books. Then she drew me in deeper and deeper and deeper. I thought I was done discovering the wonders of her mind until I saw her request for ARC readers for Variant (book 2 in this series) As I hadnt read these books yet I knew I had to give it a go and I can safely say I was not disappointed. Predictive takes you on this amazing, spunky woman's journey as she tries to save her entire Empire from extinction. I haven't read a sci-fi quite like this before and I really enjoyed it. There was ample action to keep your brain busy. Enough drama to keep your thirst for said drama quenched and enough romanceish to keep your heart happy. This is by far not a romance but there is a definete underlier there that kept my romantic heart happy.
Really well written characters draw you into a story so well written you will find it impossible to put down your book.
World building so well done that you can feel the scratch of sand on your skin and the suffocating humidity of the swamp planet pulling you down.
I cannot wait to carry on with this adventure to the new colony planet (hopefully)
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very different from others books I have read by this author. I loved the sci-fi fantasy aspect of this book.
I am very intrigued by Eva. About her ability. But her character also gets on my nerves sometimes :)) She can be very manipulative, bratty, and also very snooty. I don't particularly care for those traits in people or characters. Eva somehow manages to make all the traits that I don't care for to be very intriguing with her. I want to know more about her. I also am very intrigued by several of the characters that were in this story. Landon being one of them I am most intrigued with and this new "tattoo" he ended up with. I want to know more about that and what effects it will end up having on him. Then there is Eric, Riley, Marik, Gordon, and several others that we met along the way with this story. I just need to know more about all of them and this world that was created. I have so many questions and I need answers!
This is an action packed sci fi story that I couldn't stop reading. It is one of those books where you can't wait to see what is going happen but you don't want it come to an end either. The characters are an interesting mix of military, techs, and of course the main female who is a "predictive". I love that aspect of the story, with Eva using her skills to make predictions. And even though her character is a bit of a prima donna through the story you know that she has a big heart and wants to save everyone that she can by using her predictive skills. As usual the author gives us a great story line and world building, some humor to ease the suspense, and a hint of romance. If you like science fiction this book is for you. I can't wait to read the next part of this trilogy.
This was a different style for the author. Though still of the Sci-Fi genre, I would say it deviates from her usually omegaverse or dark genre she usually writes. This story is like a space Odyssey. There is suspense, drama, plenty of futuristic lingo, and action. I loved the premise of the precognitive ability of Eve. It's almost like magic, but when explained with the science of advanced DNA and the mind's ability to process data and find patterns that allow for predictions. It's an amazing idea. True blend of science and fiction. I really hope there will be more.

Predictive by Liv Lane. A very enjoyable read. I liked the story. I liked Landon and Eva and how they were together. 4*.
I'm thinking this is pretty good then I get to 57% of the way through. The main character (Eva) has discovered a huge issue and she needs to alert the other main character (Landon) about it to stave off his death.
Eva manages to work around a communications blockade to speak with him and... she wibbles about other stuff, not one mention of the earth-shattering fact she discovered.
I actually re-read the whole conversation in case I'd somehow missed it.
I quit in digust. Any plot after this point is literally BS.
At first, I didn't warm up to predictive Eva but that's the beauty of this book, you get sucked into the characters and have to know what happens next. There are some nice touches to the world-building that bring it away from our societal rules. The characters are unique, the symbiont tattoo is intriguing and the bed-hopping a little salacious! Hoping this is the first in a series rather than a standalone, there's a lot of scope for future reveals, disasters and adventures.
As a fan of science fiction novels, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this novel and I was pleasantly surprised.
It is a bit of a mix of genres, and is much more than a science fiction novel. It is however a pleasant mix and the author has written some really strong characters and an even stronger attraction between them!!
The storyline is well paced and intriguing and left me wanting to read on.
Possessing the gift of predicting, Eva holds immense power and sway within the Empire. Citizens and Empire magistrates alike bend to her every whim but are loathe to form attachments with the conceited Predictive in the chance she reveals their every thought and desire...which suits Eva just fine. Everything changes, though, when Eva predicts the Empire's fall from power and hidden forces converge to destroy the Predictive and everyone she loves.
A very enjoyable read! From the first page until the last I was completely captivated and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. The storyline is intriguing and unique, stimulating to read, with great characters and descriptive scenes, satisfying from start to finish. This is definitely worth the read.
This story has such depth and energy, it just propels you to keep turning the page! My word skills can’t do it justice; lots of emotion, strong leads and supporting characters. Lot’s of story, less relationship and practically no hot and steamy. This not typical of books I read, very sci fi but in a very enjoyable and readable way. Must read
This book is an action packed space adventure. She predicts that they are losing the war. LV Lane provides detail descriptions for her characters and the worlds they inhabit. It starts a little slow but it does pick up as you get deeper in to the book. I would recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this book. One thing that surprised me, it was much more science fiction than fantasy or paranormal novel. I enjoy both, but the blurb/description might have some people disappointed. The future of humans is in danger. Can Eva's predictions save it?
I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you To echo what other reviewers have said – excellent main characters, twisty story line that once hooked was pretty impossible to leave unfinished and well paced. An author I love to read, she never disappoints- thank you
This book is almost entirely about a war, which would have prevented me from reading it, had I known before. Despite that, I did finish it, because I was intrigued enough to want to know what happened.

This e-book is very well written and proofread to make it very readable. The story is imaginitive and engaging with a nice balance of action and dialogue.
I didn't read much but it seemed like a very good read for a sci-fi novel which usually isn't my thing. It's seems well paced and quite an exciting read for those into the genre
