I was born in Sacramento, California. As a child, I wrote plays for the neighbor kids and invited their parents to performances. As I got older, I started my own family newspaper, handwritten and hand delivered, for the extortion price of 25 cents. Eventually, I moved into writing angst-ridden poems and journals – lots of them. Right after graduating from high school, I married the love of my life whom I met while walking on a beach in Northern California. We had two children, spent years building a house, juggling pets and living on sailboats. All the while, I wrote stories but I never attempted to sell them.

When the kids started Junior High, I started marketing my writing. When my short stories were turned down by mainstream women's magazines, my mother suggested I try a confession magazine. I sold my first story to them within two weeks. What a feeling of accomplishment! I walked on air for about a week! It took me almost two years to sell my next story, but after that, I went on to sell over two dozen to the various confession magazines. The experience of learning to get a story off the ground within a sentence or two was invaluable as was the connection I made with one of the editors. When she moved to a small book publisher, I sent her a completed manuscript which she bought. I wrote twenty books for her, mostly romances with a few mysteries thrown in. During this time, I learned about pacing, plot development and characterization. There is nothing a writer can do to improve their craft that trumps the actual setting of oneself in a chair and writing. Eventually I sold a manuscript to Silhouette. Now, forty books and many editors later, I've written for Avalon, Silhouette, Kensington, and Harlequin Intrigue I am also still married to the love of my life and our two children have given us three wonderful grandchildren.

I don’t know why there are no reviews on his book. This story really surprised.
A maid of honor and groom take a road trip with many road blocks and turn around to find his bride that ran away with another man on their wedding day.

Thorn is a wealthy rancher but was clueless of what his then fiancé was. She manipulated him and caused him many pains on his way to finding her.
Alexandra was her friend, they worked in a flower shop together. She always had a little crush on Thorn, but he never gave her a glance while Natalie was around.

She agrees to go on this adventure with him, but finds her heart breaking a little bit everyday. All because of how smitten Thorn is with the one woman whom only wants his money and she still left him for a richer man.

This story is one adventure after another. Will Thorn ever get his head out of the clods to see that Alexandra is really his match. So one escaped bride on the run with another man and a maid of honor and groom on this scenic adventure to find her a story like I have never read before.

It is also part of a series. So I may have to look into finding the rest of these books.

Will Thorn finally get the bride that was really meant for him.
A truly enjoyable read.

Really enjoyed this, though the title doesn’t fit the plot- or doesn’t do it justice.

The stood up groom and the bridesmaid befriend each other as they travel, over three stares, after the wayward bride. It sounds cartoonish but it wasn’t. The pace of the change of their relationship made sense and there was plenty of conflict along the way.

3 ½ Stars ~ The synopsis for this book does a great job of summarizing this charming love story.

This romance was first published in early 1997 before the commonality of cell phones (though our hero is wealthy enough to have a car phone in his Mercedes convertible). Had they been, we would have missed out on some hilariously fun moments along the chase.

The chase to catch up with the runaway bride (gold digger cheat) is met with just about every obstacle possible. They left in such a hurry that neither Thorn or Alex had their wallets (no money), which made this a mad cap adventure (even a night in jail for Thorn). They clicked as they worked together to stay on the heels of the bride. Alex with her forth rite manner was soon telling rather naïve Thorn just how shallow he's been regarding the no-show bride. Thorn, as his eyes are slowly opened, realizes just how right Alex is, and just how perfect Alex is.

Though Ms. Sharpe does at times portray Thorn as a bit gullible, he does grow into that hero we are used to. Alex shines in this story and easily makes us believe that true love can happen on the rebound. This was a light often hilarious read, perfect for a few hours of needed reader get-away.
