This fun and heartfelt Christmas story starts with a touch of adventure and a bit of magic and leaves you with the perfect pumpkin bread recipe to create your own famous Christmas memories.
Alexis Anicque, author, wife, mother of two grown children, and Nana of three. Self proclaimed world traveler and adventure seeker. Spends her time living on sailboats, jumping on planes, trains,or buses. She loves the city life and public transportation. Author of the Finding Famous series, young adult fantasy fiction and From Money to Murder, a steamy romance with a murder mystery twist.
A lovely Christmas fantasy short story featuring Famous. Together with her friend Destiny they hunt down Famous’s mother’s recipe for Pumpkin bread. (At the end of the book is the recipe to try). The book leaves a warm feeling and if you have been following the other Famous books, then this is a must.
A lovely short story which sees the return Famous and Destiny having a snowy adventure during which the memory of trying to make pumpkin bread without a recipe is told then relived. Well illustrated with scenes of cold, wintery pictures that helps the imagination and cements the characters and their escapade in your mind.
This was an interesting story, but I think it’s part of a larger story/series so it relies on those for the world building. I was a little confused throughout the book. I wasn’t aware that the book would have magic in it, so the casual mentions of magic were a little jarring. Again, I think there are other stories that build the world and characters more.
I felt like it just needed a little bit more editing. Frequently, there were paragraphs in the story that just summarized what happened. I would have liked to see what happened, instead of just being told the two girls had been playing in the snow.
Otherwise, it was a cute story. It felt fun. The cover is beautiful.
So, this was not at all what I expected but was a cute read anyway. This short story is part of the Famous Adventures series, a young adult fantasy series. Famous and her friend Destiny live in New York and go out exploring. They fall into a tunnel, and Destiny hurts her foot. The only way to get out is to use their magic to transport themselves to another area. They end up in Famous' mom's home, and Christmas memories of her mom/family making pumpkin bread overwhelm Famous. She sets out to recreate the memory as best as she can.
Cute read. Maybe more entertaining if you have read some of the other books in the series.
As Famous and Destiny journey to Famous’s home in New York she recounts the time her and her mum lost a recipe for Pumpkin bread and their search for a Christmas Tree. This was a great short story and was very uplifting as well. The recipe for Pumpkin Bread at the end was a nice touch as well and I will bound to have some spare time over Christmas to use it to bake some Pumpkin bread with my son.

I love the famous series and have been waiting for this book to come out. It’s Such a cute Christmas story and the recipe made amazing pumpkin bread! Even if fantasy isn’t your genre, the recipe alone makes this book worth it. But really, the story is funny and heartwarming and worth a quick read.
Christmas is supposed to be a magical time of year, but the story has literal magic occurring. It has suspenseful moments (time in the hole), and it has scenes involving helping others. It also made me crave pumpkin bread. I was pleasantly surprised to see Alexis added a recipe. I can't wait to make a loaf!
I read this book to our 6 year old daughter and we both enjoyed it. She now wants to go to New York lol. This story is a wonderful heart felt tale and what a perfect time of year for it. Loving the magic twist, family and of course the recipe ( which I will be making) All in all it's a great book.
A lovely short story. Famous shares a wonderful christmas memory of her mother with Destiny. It was a quick read but very sweet, a must if you've enjoyed the other other Famous adventures stories. The pumpkin bread recipe is an added bonus.
A short story that’s fun to read. Nice drawings and a bonus recipe to make. I’ve already read the author's two other books about Famous, so I was familiar with what was happening.
