Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
Another cute Warrior Series story. It is read from left to right in the American way instead of the traditional way. This particular story is the middle of a journey with Graystripe who has been captured and tries to make it back to his clan. It is part of a trilogy and is the second book. It could be read on it’s own but I think it reads much better in order because otherwise one misses how the whole journey back to Graystripe’s Thunderclan begins. The story is continued in a third and final book/installation depicting Graystripe’s adventure. Over all it does not take long to read. I would say no more than an hour for each book and all three come in a boxed set. Since most of the story is depicted in pictures and words are contained to thought and word bubbles, it is a short and very light read for anyone who needs it.
It's always enjoyable to have a Graystripe focused story, but I just wasn't that interested in the barn storyline. I also didn't like Millie as much in this one as I did in the first manga.
When Graystripe and Millie reach ThunderClan's forest home, he realizes all of the Clan's homes have been destroyed.
Graystripe and Millie's journey to find ThunderClan has only just begun when the pair comes into conflict with a tribe of barn cats that threatens to break the travelers apart for good. This second book in the Warriors manga trilogy will tantalize fans of the popular Japanese comic book format.
Kinda weird. I don't like Husker's anime bowl cut hair at all and Millie is way more annoying in this book. I just felt like it was really pointless. The highlight of this book was Graystripe saying the word "top-notch."
I really really liked the first part of this arc, but I think things took a nosedive here. The barn cats' feelings seem to just be "whatever's convenient for the writers" and why does Husker have hair. There also is very little growth between, "Screw cats!" And, "Oh, all kitties are so good."
However, what truly brought its score down was Millie. I liked her in the first arc, no flaws were shown, but I figured something would happen to outwardly show that she's imperfect, even though obviously we do have a biased narrator.
Instead, we find out that she's very good at hunting, at least average at fighting, and... Can talk to dogs? Obviously, Midnight does exist so it's not unheard of for an animal to be able to talk to another species, however, Midnight is hinted at being very, very old, while Millie is fairly young. This, coupled with her endless patience, kindness and her only flaw being "really scared of thunderpaths" (despite having grown up around them?) Puts Millie as a poorly developed character.
Of course, she's meant to be Graystripe's rebound after Silverstream, who was also fairly perfect (though at least she was stubborn to a fault and had a sense of entitlement due to who her father was), but the thing about Silverstream is that she was a minor character. We see her maybe three times and she didn't have to be developed. Millie, being as much of a major character as she is, needs more development and character flaws, and I sincerely hope she receives them.

I was surprised by how much I liked this short manga. I definitley liked it a lot better than the first one.
Millie was adorable here and was neat to see that she could speak a little dog. It was nice to see the dogs and cats be relatively non hostile towards each other by the end. Hopefully the cats and dogs can live amd coexist peacefully with the two legs after Greystripe and Millie leave.
I also really liked how even though the two legs started off being really mean and abusive towards the cats, once Greystripe saved their daughter from falling into the pond they finally warmed up to the cats and realized they weren't so bad. Nice character development for such a quick and short manga.
Also sad how it ended with Greystripe seeing the forest and the Thunderclan camp completely destroyed, but we all know how it ends at least. And for sure, in the next part Greystripe won't be quick to despair or give up.
I look forward to reading the next final installment of this manga. Overall, a nice addition to the Warriors series.

How? Kiddo liked the graphic novel of The Warriors, so this ended up in the house.
What? It's a prequel or a side story to the main Warriors books -- I don't know exactly. But one of the wild cats was caught by humans and is trying to find his way home with an ex-pet cat. There's a little bit of some wandering and then the bulk of this short, manga-style book is how these two wanderers befriend some traumatized cats on a farm now owned by some cat-hating humans. ("Finally," I thought, "some representation for me!")
Yeah, so? After saying no for a while, kiddo suddenly said yes, and we basically read it over one long dinner. It's pleasant! (Though it's only volume two so don't expect a resolution!)
On their way to find Graystripe's clan Graystripe and Millie are chased through a field of corn and become separated. Graystripe enlists the help of barn cats to find Millie. While Millie recuperates they learn the barn cats story. They were kittypets then the couple died leaving them to fend for themselves so they came to live in the barn. Then a new family moved in and they treated the cats like vermin hitting and chasing them away when ever they would show themselves. So the cats were hiding during the day....basically in a barn prison. Gaystripe and Millie feel bad for them and try to help. Graystripe's bravery pays off in bringing the family closer to the cats.
As Graystripe and Millie continue their journey to find ThunderClan, this graphic novel presents a lovely depiction of their adventures. I especially liked when they meet the barn cats and the illustrations of the kittens are adorable! The way that Millie was able to communicate with the dogs and Graystripe was able to change the humans minds about cats was incredible. The fact that they helped make life so much easier for the barn cats was a great storyline and I enjoyed it a lot. Towards the ending, when Graystripe came upon the torn down forest, his sadness was palpable. The destruction was so great and I felt that his rediscovery of the old ThunderClan camp was handled very well.
This one I feel was unnecessary. It sort of just dragged on and on and I felt that they could have made the trilogy of Graystripe's journey into just two separate moderately sized comic books (in a perfect "my world" they would have just been normal books) by putting a dumbed down version of the first half of this book at the end of the first one and a dumbed down second half of this book at the beginning of the third one. But than again... what do I know about making comic books uh? I mean I literally JUST said that I didn't much care for them!
My favorite part was when the family who lived in the house where Husker and Moos lived started to be friends with the cats that were in their barn. My least favorite part was when Graystripe found his home all destroyed and his clan missing. I think that they spent too much time in the barn, and the journey back home seemed a bit to brief. I also think that the dogs were too easily stopped, because they just listened when Millie atlked to them in dog language

Continuing on with Graystripe's story in this second book! Graystripe and Millie have left the Twolegplace behind and are on the journey to find Thunderclan. They encounter many obstacles, as well as new friends on their way, but eventually make it to the old forest. Once there, Graystripe realizes the destruction that has taken place. This book ends in a cliffhanger, but there is hope that the characters will find where the Clans have gone.
This is the second book in the GrayStripe Manga series and I thought it was great! I liked it as much as the first book and I'll defiantly be reading the third book: Warrior's return. I'm starting to really enjoy graphic novels and I'll be reading more of the, in the future.
But I'm confused about why Husker or whatever his name was has hair. Not fur on the top of his head. HAIR. And Greystripe's two furs that poke in the wrong way on his head is annoying. Millie's fur and NO hair is good.
Another great addition to the series. I enjoyed this short book and the glimpse it gave me into the life of one of my favorite characters in the series. I also enjoyed getting to know both of the main characters better. I have read this book several times before and I will definitely read it again in the future.
This book was very cute. It was sweet and allowed for some of the animals to finally find a home (not trying to have any spoilers) I had not read any of the other books in the series, so I was a bit confused, but quickly understood enough to really enjoy it. There was also a really good cliffhanger.
Again, I am thrilled with these little manga editions of Warrior Cat life. I have always loved Millie but after reading the first two little books in this GrayStripe trilogy I have fallen as much in love with her as the incomparable GrayStripe. I highly recommend this reading adventure and I now salute this genre. Remember, WARRIOR CATS RULE!!!!
The story continues. They have found gray stripe and now have to find the rest of the thunder clan. They will come to many problems. The kitty pet realizes what he has been missing out and wish he was never a kitty pet in the first place.
So, as cute as this was and all, it doesn’t feel like a Warriors book. It’s just so unrealistic to me. The humans who were complete assholes before are able to realize what Greystripe did, and then are like totally different people? Also, since when could dogs and cats understand each other?
