Have you ever stopped to think your actions will ever come back to bite you? Me neither. Did I, Deakon Brosley of Screaming Shadows, ever think I would care? Not for a second.
For years I lived life to the fullest and could have cared less about what other people thought. That was until I felt a magnetic pull to someone I couldn’t ignore.
That person was Sadie, my bandmate’s damaged, snarky housekeeper who has the personality of a toad. The maddening thing about this is it’s girls like her I’d normally go out of my way to avoid. Sadie’s easy on the eye. Physically, she’s my type … from her incredibly long auburn hair, right down her cute, little painted toes. But that’s not the burning attraction. It’s more about the wired connection whenever she's near me.
Part of my problem is I sense it’s a two way thing, but the girl won’t budge on her mood. Not that I blame her. I usually don’t do romance or relationships, they’re more trouble than they’re worth. She’s arrogant, discourteous, impertinent, and rude—this list is far from exhausted.
So how come I can’t get her out of my head and find I can’t resist her? Beats me.
The attraction I felt was instant, but that was before she spoke. Hell, perhaps in some sadistic way I get turned on by being slapped down by her vindictive, scathing tongue. This point is a real possibility because since I’ve lived with fame, it’s rarely ever done.
My bandmate, her boss, is overprotective of her, and constantly warns me off. So why am I so persistent and determined to get under her skin? Could it be that one damaged soul has found another?

This is book 3 in the Pulsetunes Gods series and is Deakons story
Deakon has been intrigued by Levi’s housekeeper Sadie for a while and a chance of a lifetime opportunity opens up when Sadie actually goes out clubbing with the gang, however the next day is a WHOLE other story!!!
Sadie has been trying to stay out of the limelight since working for Levi and it has been a struggle to stop herself finding Deakon deliciously hot 🥵 as everyone knows he’s a giant manwhore……..but as with all stories, Deakon’s and Sadie’s has rollercoaster of emotions to get through.
Read their journey and struggles with a full heart of emotions and a strong determination that Deakon can actually get his ‘baby’
Until Deakon is the third book in the PulseTunes Rock Gods Series by K.L. Shandwick, and as the title suggests this is Deakon Brosley’s story. Deakon is the lead guitarist of Screaming Shadows, and I have absolutely loved learning more about him as well as being back with the other band members plus their leading ladies.
We’ve already met the woman who has caught Deakon’s eye. It is none other than bandmate Levi’s housekeeper Sadie. Let’s just say she has a ‘prickly’ personality and during this narrative we learn her story which then enables us to understand why. What I particularly love about this narrative is the protectiveness, patience, support and love that both Deakon and Levi have for Sadie. Levi is like Sadie’s big brother which of course causes tension between the bandmates once Deakon’s intentions towards Sadie become known. They each have had a traumatic past which is addressed during this narrative, and all this makes one fabulous storyline.
I absolutely loved seeing a side to Deakon which is so different to the reputation he has as a rock star - one which he has become famous for. I loved witnessing Sadie’s strength. One of the many highlights of this story is the appearance of a couple of my favourite characters from another series by this author. Every character plays an integral part in this story, and I love how K.L. Shandwick has penned it.
There are moments when this story will pull at your heart strings. However, as always, the author shares Deakon and Sadie’s stories with consideration and care- enabling us to have a greater understanding of what they have been through and the effects that their traumas still have on them today. I absolutely loved witnessing the banter and interactions between the couple. As you read their story,I know you’ll agree with me that they are perfect for each other; I only wish there weren’t so many obstacles standing in their way.
I highly recommend Until Deakon to you to read. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series which I understand will be Korry’s story.
Complex story full of angst, some anger and trust issues but throughout it all Deakon holds firm on his feelings while giving space when needed. His support is unwavering even when struggling with his own pain. Sadie was rescued by Levi from the streets, hungry and scared, he gave her a job and somewhere to live. She has always been snarky and slightly aggressive towards the guys in the band but now we find out why and what happened to her before Levi. We get to understand her, empathise and grow to love the strong survivor that she is. Deakon I loved throughout, he is caring and loving, loyal beyond fault, but underneath he is vulnerable, he carries a deep pain and loss and is fiercely protective of his little sister and his brother. There are twists and turns that keep this interesting and has the reader invested in the ending, wanting the characters to work things out. I found it gripping, but it's a long book so I did have to put it down at times. It is interesting topic-wise, has a fast flow and great pacing and is well written. I love the realistic and down to earth nature of this authors books, they are emotional and full of turmoil but relatable to anyone. Exciting and fabulous characters some take getting to know but once you do they are as easy to love as the others. As with all KL Shandwick's stories it takes us on a journey of learning and understanding, while also giving us something to really get stuck into. Wonderful read.
I am loving this series about the guys from rockband Screaming Shadows.
After the events at the end of the previous book, Deakon went right up in my estimation, even though his actions could have got him into a lot of trouble. The wild, seemingly reckless man whore of a guitarist was going to get a run for his money with snarky Sadie, Levi's grumpy housekeeper. There was a lot more to these two than met the eye, but who could crack the others defences first?
Theirs was a slow burn, sizzling, somewhat volatile relationship to start with. My heart hurt for what both Deakon and Sadie had been through and their pain absolutely explained the way they acted. Especially Sadie who was often rude and abrasive to the band members and anyone who wanted to get closer. She had a secret and was terrified of the consequences if it got out.
There was angst, denial, slow burn but fiery chemistry, emotion and a heartfelt journey to trust. I loved how Deakon never gave up on Sadie no matter how often she pushed him away, although there were times I thought they'd never sort themselves out as they both had short fuses at times.
KL Shandwick put these two through the wringer but the agony was totally worth it.
Loved it. With every new book in this series I enjoy it more and more and it was great to have so much of my no1 rock god Gibson in this book. Can’t wait for the next one
The magic of KL’s writing in this series is she has written 3 of the most sinfully sexy rock stars and she isn’t done yet. I am utterly in love with Deakon! I already knew he was going be fun from the previous books but he knocked my socks off. He is charming, confident and self aware in a way that makes him the perfect match for Sadie. I was anxiously awaiting getting to know Sadie better. I knew there was more to her than just snark. They have chemistry for days! They are spicy! I found myself jelly of Sadie. Lol! There’s a lot of depth to the story, on each of their sides. They both have “issues” they need to work through. One of my favorite parts to a KL Shandwick story is how the characters work through things. Her characters always stay with me long after I finish the book and Deakon and Sadie are no different. Highly recommend!
I'm in love with Deakon!! He is so hot and boy does he tick all the boxes! Sadie is one lucky girl for falling in Deakons radar! KL did it again! All the feels and great build up!! Love it!!
Book 3 in the PulseTunes Rock Gods series, and here we have Deakon Brosley, lead guitarist of the Screaming Shadows - if you've read the other 2 books in this series you will know that Deakon has reputation of being a playboy, he's always with a woman, partying and doing what rockstars do best.... until he falls for someone we have already met in previous books - Levi's housekeeper Sadie, who is known for her wicked tongue and no nonsense attitude.
Both characters have had some bad things happen to them in the past, we already know Deakon's past with his family and how he is looking after his sister, in this we find out Sadie's background and how she got to be taken in by Levi, and why her disposition leaves a lot to be desired at times. It's not good.... she hasn't told her background to anyone yet, but it's Deakon she spills her story to eventually.
Deakon has always been taken with Sadie, liking her comebacks and her sass, but didn't think he stood a chance with her. Sadie protects her privacy, not going out with the guys, keeping to herself - you find out why later, and her story is horrible and I certainly felt for her and being in her position you can understand how her attitude and her sharp tongue where her protection and her guards. But Deakon proved he was anything but what his reputation said about him, he turned out to be patient, caring, understanding, protective and loving with Sadie, who can't help but fall for this side of Deakon.
These two have a lot to work through and it's not easy sailing, especially with Levi and the other band members as they are protective of Sadie, Levi especially, even putting the friendship of the band at risk at times. But it was lovely to watch these two overcome the obstacles in their path, fighting for a chance together, patience and understanding being the key, and Deakon had that in spades.
Lovely to see some of the other characters from KL's other books putting in appearances - great to have a catch up with them and to see how they are getting along with their lives, showing their love and support for the guys and helping out in ways no one else could.
A great read, emotional at times, angsty at others, some great banter and laugh out loud moments as well as the hot steamy scenes - some difficult topics covered as well. I look forward to her next book.
I didn't think that the PulseTunes Rock Gods series could get any better, however with the addition of UNTIL DEAKON K.L. Shandwick happily proved me wrong. I waited ever so impatiently for Deakon's story ever since first meeting him, and I fell for him even harder. UNTIL DEAKON was deeply emotional. full of angst, anger, trust issues, but there was also passion, understanding and acceptance.
The combination of the compassionate rockstar Deakon and the sarcastic, snarky housekeeper Sadie was simply perfect. Their relationship wasn't an easy one as both had built high walls around themselves. From the beginning there was a volatility between them, but it was one that sizzled with a slow burn desire and need. Both Deakon and Sadie carry a lot of pain with them from the past but deal with it differently. Deakon was divine, he had a swagger, a confidence, the ability to see who he really was and try to better himself. My heart went out to Sadie once she explained everything she had been through, it explained why she acted the way she did. Once her story was told I loved the patience, care, and understanding Deakon had with her.
It cannot be denied that there was an undeniable chemistry between Deakon and Sadie. Unfortunately, as the two are playing a tension filled game of cat and mouse, their actions are having on Levi, Sadie's friend, and employer. As a result, his bandmates make decisions and choices they never thought they would.
K.L. Shandwick has the wonderful ability to allow her readers to experience everything her characters do, and that's exactly what happened as I read this story. I love the way her characters are always supportive of each other, no matter the circumstances. UNTIL DEAKON was a beautiful, emotional story, one of survival and the ability to overcome the pain of the past and move onward into the future. It was an addictive and unputdownable read ... a MUST READ.
Next up is Until Korry and I can't wait to dive in.
Screaming Shadows is a rock band full of sexy, complex, creative, alpha males. They are Rock Gods to their screaming fans and we get the privilege of learning more about their personal lives and their journeys. Deakon is one of the baddest of these bad boys.
When you have an unlimited array of beautiful girls throwing themselves at you and drinks and drugs are flowing free so is your life. Deakon has so many black holes in his memory after partying so much he's grateful to his security for making sure he stays in one piece. Thats his life.... so it seems, but what we find out is his past has left a deep need in him to protect and look after those he feels are vulnerable in life. What he didn't expect to feel was a deep connection to a single girl, not ever....
We met Sadie in Levi's story, she is his house keeper, she's rude and brash and sends out that *stay away* signal to every person entering his house. She's like a caged, wounded animal trying to protect herself day in day out. She is hiding a very dark secret, one she cannot speak of.
So Deakon is majorly attracted to the little spitfire Sadie, but she seems like too much hard work... Sadie feels her attraction to Deakon getting stronger with time, but she has to stay away.... Levi can feel the tension between his band mate and his house keeper and is growing more and more aggitated, something has got to give.
And the resulting explosion leaves band mates having to make choices they never expected to make.
This story gripped me from the get go, I was really interested in Sadie's story, I needed to know what she was hiding. Also I enjoyed watching her make Deakon run around in circles. At it's heart this is a story of survival, of two hearts that know about abuse and loss finding peace with each other. I loved how this band and their women and children become one very tight and protective unit.
OMG! Gibson! Yes, Gibson and Chloe also play a big part in this story too, now I want to go back and read their story yet again....sigh.
Why have I never read K.L.Shandwick before? Why did no-one tell me how amazing K.L.'s writing was? As you can see this is my first read by this author and I have awkwardly started in the middle of a series...but I didn't actually bother me.Although I will now have to read the first 2 books in this series. Deakon and Sadie are hot. Sadie is Deakon's band mate Levi's Housekeeper so they actually know eachother and I gathered Deakon has had an interest in her. But Sadie comes across as a bit unapproachable she can be rude and sassy, but Deakon is drawn to her. The banter between these two is very entertaining and I loved reading it. There is a reason for Sadie's attitude though, she has a secret about her past that she wants to keep hidden. So her behaviour is to protect herself I think ,to keep people away and stop them from getting to know her.If her past got out it may change people's/Deakon's perception of her. Deakon is perfection I Love him what a great guy he is everything ,sweet, caring, super sexy he has a reputation that Sadie has witnessed and she doesn't really want to be a part of the rockstar life. They are an ideal match, they both have their issues and I adored reading how they come together despite the ups and downs they go through. K.L.Shandwick has written an addictive story that has you wanting more,it certainly has me very intrigued about the other band members stories. It is well written flows effortlessly with characters that you love and want to have a HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Brilliant 5 Stars.

Until Deakon is the third book in the excellent PulseTunes Rock Gods series by K.L. Shandwick. This time we have the lead guitarist of Screaming Shadows, Deakon Brosley. The other band members are all involved because the woman who turns his head is Sadie, Levi’s housekeeper. This is an emotional tale about facing the past and finding a way to move forward as secrets are revealed. Nothing worth going for is ever easy and these two prove it in their journey to a HEA.
Sadie is a snarky, feisty woman, who has one hell of an attitude. For over two years she has never been afraid to tell any of the band members what she thinks. She has an uncanny ability to switch from nice to frightening and is a mystery to them all. When she has a rare night out with the guys it gives Deakon the opportunity to explore his attraction towards her. Things take a surprising turn but then it is back to them battling against each other. Sadie hates she has feelings for Deakon because he is everything she can’t have.
Deakon shows such compassion and patience with Sadie. Levi is very protective of her and willing to let her keep her secrets but Deakon knows she must confide in someone to be able to move on. He wants to find out why she is hiding away in Levi’s pool house and not out enjoying life. His reputation as a rockstar has been well publicised and even his bandmates start to question his intentions with Sadie but we see a different side to him as he is so focused on persuading Sadie that he can be the right man for her.
The tension builds between the band as Deakon refuses to step down in his pursuit of her and his relationship with Levi is put to the test. How can he prove he is not taking advantage of her. Their interactions at times are very funny which helps because when they are struggling with their attraction towards each other. Both their stories are heart breaking and their traumas have affected them both deeply. He is so kind and caring throughout all the ups and downs. I loved how he makes her feel desired and convinces her to be brave.
At first Sadie is frustrating and seems to enjoy arguing with him. I was cross with her for not seeing how serious Deakon was but when her past is finally disclosed you get to understand her behaviour and why she is scared. But I must admit I was impressed with her decision to do what she does because it takes strength and courage. I was very excited to have some more of the one and only Gibson Barclay as Chloe becomes a huge support to Sadie. This series just keeps getting better and better as we learn more about each band member as they find ‘the one’.
*4,5 stars* This is the third book in the rockstar series and is the story of Deakon. You can read it as a standalone but I'd suggest to read in order so you get a better feel of all of the characters written by the author. Although I'm a bit out of the rockstar genre, I definitely have enjoyed reading this series but most definitely the story of Deakon & Sadie as it goes way deeper than just your average rockstar romance. The author has a way with her words to get to you emotionally and make you feel the journey that both lead characters have been through, in a good deeper way which made you also connect to them and in a way make you relate. A great read and can't wait to see what is next in store. You truly don't want to miss out on this one!
Deakon has been through a lot in the past but is known as a true ladiesman; at least that's how everyone perceives him but there's way more than meets the eye. He has known Sadie since she's been living with Levi as his housekeeper but there's always been an attraction between them. One night, both let their guard down but it stays as a one-night-stand. Both are trying to move on but it's easier said than done. Sadie has done a lot to keep moving on from her past but it's been an emotional rollercoaster. As nobody truly knows what she has been through, it's getting harder to keep the secret hidden. She and Deakon get closer and their relationship starts to change but will it be enough for her to finally tell the truth?... Will they stand a chance through it all?...
Book 3 in the Pulse Tunes Rock Gods series. Another brilliantly written book by KL. This is Deakon and Sadie's story. We learn about Sadie's history and why she is so hostile with her snarky comebacks when anyone gets too close to her. Levi, her boss, who saved her from living on the streets, homeless, becomes like a big brother that she never had. She tests Deakon's patience and love for her as she continues to push him away and deny her feelings towards him. The love, loyalty and patience both Deakon and Levi show towards Sadie is at another level. Deakin wants to give up on Sadie, but his heart refuses to allow him to let her go. Once her hidden past is revealed, making both Deakon and Levi understand her a bit more, Sadie disappears. A rift is caused between her boss and her lover, but Sadie needs to sort out her feelings and work through her fears caused by her ex. Once Sadie decides to take a leap of faith and be by Deakon's side, his man whore days catch up with him and puts more tension on a already struggling relationship. I loved this story, with it's angst, twists and turns, and still with all the couple have to struggle through a HEA is what Deacon is determined to have with his Sadie. Lots of laughs, and good feels within the pages. I received an ARC copy and am leaving an honest review.
KL Shandwick, the characters in your books just keep getting better and better. I'm not sure if that is because we have gotten to know them slightly more in each book, so when you get to their story you feel like you already know them, and you become more protective over them.
This is the story of Deakon and Sandi. Deakon is the Bass player in the Screaming Shadows band, and Sandi is the housekeeper to Levi. You know both have a past, and as their pasts are revealed, it is just devastating what they have been through.
Sandi had become one of my favourite characters in the books I have read. Her whitty comebacks, her no bulls**t approach, had me liking her more and more. We know from the other stories that she is hiding something. In this one, it all comes out. I know it isn't a suspense story, but I would have loved for this one to have gone a little deeper and maybe have her being stalked, etc. But that is just me.
Deackon's past is just as tragic as Sandi's, I want to wrap him in my arms and hug him to make it better. You get to meet his sister for a short time in the story and I am hoping we get to see more of her. Maybe Greg can become the man to marry her, be by her side.
The next book it seems we are being set up for is Korry's. His book sounds like it could be a hoot. His past will definitely be one we need to read about.
5 Star Review Until Deakon (PulseTunes Rock Gods #3) by K. L. Shandwick No one writes rock star romance like K.L Shandwick. Until Deakon was a well written emotional story and the third n the series. Deakon is not your normal rock star, he is compassionate and supportive and he knows Sadie as his band mate Levi’s housekeeper. He knows that she should be off limits but there is something about her that calls to his soul. Could it be their tragic pasts? There was certainly angst in this story as well as trust and anger issues, all of which were handled well. It is also a story that got to me on numerous levels and my heart went out to both Deakon and Sadie at times. Both have been through so much and I was moved to tears at times whilst reading. There were a number of twists and turns and some unexpected moments that I didn’t see coming and kept me on my toes. I found myself reading well into the night needing to know what was going to happen to these characters I came to care about. Their journey was hard but what a reward they got at the end. Another emotional story from K.L. Shandwick and one that ticked all the boxes for me.
This is Deakon's & Sadie's story. Sadie is Deakon's band mate Levi's housekeeper. Deakon is attracted to Sadie but she's not having a bar of it. She's always snarky to Deakon and the other guys. She's had a troubled past and Levi is very protective of her and tells Deakon to leave her alone he's not losing his housekeeper for anyone. Their story is full of angst and mistrust of others. What secrets are they hiding and what will happen when their pasts come back to haunt them. I received an arc for my honest review for NNBB. I loved his book and always love a long read though it was hard at times to put this book down. Although this is Book Three of the Pulsetunes Rock Gods series it is possible to read it as a stand a lone. Although if you wish to know the back stories of the others in the book you might want to read the other two books in the series. If you love a hot romance with some angst you will enjoy this book.
Rock stars are real people too and have trauma to work through, just like "normal people." The third book in the PulseTunes Rock God's series continues to open up the Screaming Shadows, like a blooming onion. Each band member seems to be a bad boy Rock Star, with no cares in the world. That couldn't be farther from the truth.
We finally learn what Deakon has had to overcome in his life, which allows him to easily spot Sadie's defense mechanisms. Sometimes we need a push to ask for help, and this story brought so many raw emotions to the surface. It was amazing how K.L. Shandwick can make you care so deeply for her characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between Deakon, Sadie, and the band. It is great to have friends who are honest and supportive but call you out when needed. This book was a total rollercoaster and worth the ride!
Wow. This is an amazing third book in the Pulse Tunes Rock Gods series. Each book is my new favourite 😍 Sadie is snarky and rude. Levi's housekeeper she keeps everyone at arms length. Deakon knows she is hiding something from all of them and is drawn to her. The story has lots of depth and detail. The characters are beautifully written with care and attention to the story. Deakon is amazing. He is funny, sexy and full of the best stuff. His story is complex and his focus is on everyone but him. He knows he lives his life at full throttle, but is starting to feel he is missing out. Sadie calls to him. He is drawn to her, despite the walls she has up. Can she save him from himself and find the peace she longs for. Sadies past has her hiding, can she open up to Deakon and find the person she used to be. I loved this book and highly recommend it, the series and author.
This is the third installment of the PulseTunes Rock Gods Series, and I was captivated by the unexpected romance between Deakon Brosley, the enigmatic lead guitarist of Screaming Shadows, and the prickly yet intriguing Sadie, his bandmate's housekeeper. The novel masterfully explores the depth beneath Deakon's rock star persona, revealing a tender, caring side, especially in his interactions with Sadie. Their complex relationship, marked by emotional scars and a magnetic pull, is challenging and heartwarming. Shandwick skillfully delves into their traumatic pasts, adding layers to their characters and making their connection more meaningful. The book balances emotional intensity with engaging romance and even features cameos from characters in Shandwick's other works. This blend of romance, character depth, and emotional healing makes this story a compelling and insightful read.
Until Deakon is book three in the Pulse Tunes Rock Gods series. Its Deakon and Sadie's story and what a great read it was.
Deakon is the guitarist for Screaming Shadows and Sadie is his bandmates snarky housekeeper. Sadie is one to speak her mind and is not afraid who she offends with her sassy attitude as the guys well know, but that doesn’t stop Deakon from been attracted to her. He knows there's definitely more to her and he's determined to break down her walls and make her his. Sadie soon starts to relent but she needs to tell her story and hopefully Deakon will be there for her every step of the way.
K.L. Shandwick knows how to bring her A game with every book she writes and I look forward to more from the guys of Screaming Shadows.
This story is well-written and kept me intrigued from start to finish. The characters are well-developed and easy to connect with. Deakon and Sadie’s relationship is so romantic and sweet. Opposites attract for this guitarist and housekeeper. But they have much more in common than they originally thought. I absolutely adore these MC’s. Their story is so sweet and heartfelt. I loved every moment of their journey together. This series has been amazing so far with strong characters and a chosen family. I was sucked in right from the start and couldn’t put it down. This is an absolute must read, especially for rockstar romance fans! Thank you to DS Promotions for gifting me this great book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved Deakon's story! ❤️ I'd have to say that his story is my favorite book of the PulseTunes Rock Gods series so far. 🙂
So many parts of Sadie and Deakon's relationship story and different parts of the book were so relatable. One of my favorite scenes from Until Deakon was the bonfire scene and one of my favorite quotes was this one;
"Even though I’d tried my hardest to fight my feelings over the years, being at the retreat had made me realize I had been falling for Deakon for a long time. I supposed I’d been falling a little more every time I’d seen him. But the moment he told me he was taken was the second I couldn’t stop myself from being completely in love with him."
I look forward to reading Korry and Greg's stories. 🙂
Until Deakon is book 3 in the PulseTunes Rock Gods Series by K.L. Shandwick. This was a book friend recomendation and I have to say it was AWESOME, now reading the first 2 books, reviews later. This is Deakon & Sadie’s story. Deakon is the lead guitarist of Screaming Shadows and Sadie is band mate Levi’s housekeeper. A complicated story line full of drama, past traumas, interesting twists and turns, amazing characters, banter, patience, loyalty, strength, sexy times and LOVE. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. They are perfect for each other, Can they get over the obstacles standing in their way? NO SPOILERS, Go buy it!!! I’m looking forward to Korry’s story.
Until Deakon by K.L. Shandwick is the story of Deakon and Sadie. She’s been the housekeeper for Deakon’s friend for awhile. She’s snarky, brittle, and has quite the bark! But, for some reason, Deakon likes her. He puts up with A LOT from her. She has major trust issues and covers it with anger.
Deakon is the most patient man in the world!! He puts up with so much because he cares. Sadie works hard at keeping everyone at arm’s length. But, Deakon is persistent…and patient….and caring. There’s a lot more going on in this story. It is touching and devastating at once. This was an emotional rollercoaster read!
Deakon and Sadie I was so looking forward to learning more about Sadie and omg what a story. Although usually at loggerheads these two have a night together that seems to be the start of something neither can back away from. Both with heart breaking back stories the two together are absolutely amazing they are my favourite couple of the series so far I could not but it down I absolutely loved these two together and their journey towards each other. Really hope to read more about them in Korry's book
SADIE IS GUARDED AND HIDING FROM HER PAST. SHE HAS HER WALLS UP AND CUTS PEOPLE WITH HER WORDS SO SHE CAN PROTECT HERSELF. DEAKON HAS HIS OWN SORTED PAST THAT HE CARRIES AROUND. HE SEE'S BEYOND SADIE'S SNARKY ATTITUDE AND A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS ONE NIGHT HAS THEM OUT OF SORTS.
THIS STORY IS FULL OF EMOTIONS AND ANGST. I DID FIND MYSELF A LITTLE LOST, BECAUSE I HAD NOT READ THE TWO PREVIOUS BOOKS BEFOREHAND. THESE TWO HAVE SERIOUS CHEMISTRY AND THEY HAVE SO MUCH LOVE. I WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO READ THE OTHERS BECAUSE I LOVED ALL OTHER CHARACTERS.
Rockstar lifestyle is not just on the stage, they are humans behind their persona. Deakon has been balls to the walls since he rose to fame in Screaming Shadows. Levi's snarky housekeeper, Sadie has Deakon coming back for more, even though she said she doesn’t like him. Sadie has her secrets, that she slowly starts to share with Deakon. Shandwick gives every emotion possible to the reader in this book. I love seeing the band rally around one another and just want to be together even in their off time. Can’t wait for more of the shadow boys to fall in love.
Book three in the PulseTunes Rock Gods series, we finally get Deakon's story. Deakon is the lead guitarist for the Screaming Shadows. He also happens to have his eye on Sadie, who just so happens to be his bandmate Levi's housekeeper. Sadie is a little "feisty" so to speak, but we learn why throughout the book. I really loved how protective Deakon was of Sadie, especially since he has that rock star reputation going for him 99% of the time. He as tender and so sweet with her. I loved that. I really enjoyed this book, along with the previous two in the series.
