Ten years ago I left my marriage and the love of my life.
On paper my husband checked the boxes. 1. Devastatingly handsome 2. Wild and carefree 3. And a skilled lover… if you know what I mean
But Corjan Powell was a bad husband.
I knew we both deserved more and were too young to be saddled with a lifetime of resentment and regret. After a year of confrontations and no change, I didn’t even give him the chance to refuse divorce papers. One disastrous fight too far, I wrote him a note and I left.
“But Bree, what happened over those ten years?” you ask.
Resentment. And regrets.
Until one random Sunday afternoon, I collide with someone in a crowded airport and look up into Corjan’s familiar intense blue eyes.
I’m scared of my own reaction. The racing heart, the sweaty palms, the shock telling me I’m not over him. I do the only rational thing and escape as fast as I can onto my connecting flight.
The problem? I accidentally grab his cell phone from the floor and leave mine behind.
Now we’re a thousand miles apart, and he has my entire life in his hands and I have his in mine.
And we’re about to find out if there’s love left between us or if we strayed too far after all this time.

3.5stars I’m totally torn in my review for this book. My emotions where pinging from one extreme to another. I’m glad that Corjan and Bree worked things out and got their HEA but I felt that he forgave her why too easy for leaving him hanging for 10years. Corjan made mistakes but he finally wised up and was taking responsibilities for what happened in their marriage. At least he went looking for her to try and mend their relationship and it was nice to see he wasn’t horn dogging around while they were separated. I also understood where Bree was coming from and why she left the way she did. She had to take care of herself first but what I didn’t agree with was her not making any contact for 10years. Was she going to spend another 10years ignoring him if they hadn’t run into each other? Why not reach out to the guy after some time had passed? It just seemed like she moved on in some ways but he was left in limbo and it would have gone on for longer if they hadn’t run into each other and that just didn’t feel right.

I wish that I could give this book more stars, but I can't. And this is why:
To my opinion both MC's were too young when they got married. They didn't had any experience how to be married and rely on each other. When you love the person you gave your heart to, you should not be giving him up, because one fight. Yes, it is difficult, it takes time, but all the problems you have, you resolve them between yourselves. For me Bree made a pretty hastily decision. Which resulted in them being apart for 10 years.
I just couldn't feel the love and more importantly Bree's love and feelings. They both deserved their second chance and they needed to make an effort, but I didn't see Bree doing anything about it. This constant push and pull was just giving me a headache.
I am thankful to Grey's Promotion for providing me with this ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.
Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes one has to put self first before the toxicity destroys everyone. But that doesn't mean that love wasn’t true. This is how I felt about Strayed by A.M. Wilson. An incredibly well written angsty second chance romance that shows the ugly sides of love but also shows the healing power and unbreakable bonding of true love. This is not an easy or simple or unrealistic love story. This is a very relatable and raw story that many many couples are living through and I salute the author for bringing that side of love in her story.
10 years ago Bree left her high school sweetheart and husband Corjan Powell just with a note. 10 Years later, they literally collide at airport and in hurry, their phones get exchanged. She has to come back to the small town she once called home to get back her phone. Corjan is making it clear he will try his best to keep her here..for a second chance but is Bree ready for it?
The choices people are entirely theirs and no one else can really understand that. Life doesn't run on a simple or single rule. Bree and Corjan married just after high school and he was all about living a free life. Bree was running on fumes to make the money and maintain the home and though Corjan's love was unquestionable, she just couldn't go through him. And so she left. They were young, the odds were high and she couldn't take it. Should we expect her to be a martyr and kill herself in the name of love? I don't think so. Her leaving broke Corjan but he also took initiative to get his life together and now he is successful and stable. Bree really was not ready for this new version of Corjan. He is not shy to express how much he still loves Bree. He is desperate for her to believe that he is changed for better. He is definitely making all the right moves. Being charming and caring and possessive..a perfect husband in every way. And Bree could easily give in but the past held her back. Did I want her to run to his arms and forget about past on the first day? Yes, my hopelessly romantic heart did. But that would be too unrealistic. Corjan had to show her that his love is more solid now. Bree never stopped loving him and coming to the small town forced her to face her terrifying feels. It was definitely hard for her..The blame, the anger, the guilt..but the Powell family has a big heart and that just helped them to heal. The chemistry exploded like she didn't leave for all these years. It was a heartaching second chance romance where love does conquer all.
Dear lort Can there be a more perfect book boyfriend/husband/man than Corjan!!! I mean we thought we got a sense of the man in Lee's book but we only got what he wanted us to believe not the real man and that man well that man is just so heartbreaking perfect I just want to wrap him up and love him. Now that doesn't mean he didn't need the kick in the but he needed but lord the way he got it broke my heart too!! And Bree I know it was hard on her as well and she did everything she did for her and I don't blame her one bit. Because if you don't look out for yourself sometimes no one else will. And fate had other plans for them never seeing each other again. Can I just say how much I am loving this family and I can't wait for the next book!!! I absolutely love the way A.M. is bringing true family and love and forgiveness together without hardly any actual blood relatives. But it just proves it doesn't take blood to make a family. And then the way it has the puppies is just a bonus!!! I highly recommend this book and the entire series so far!! This was a fantastic read!!!
Loved Bree & Corjan’s story. Full review to follow
I loved heading back to hang out with the Powell family. Corjan and Bree were a young couple in love. Navigating the transition to marriage seemed to be something Bree took more seriously than Corjan. His inability to take her needs seriously drives Bree to flee.
Fast forward 10 years…… a chance encounter in an airport and life is suddenly nothing like it was. Memories swirl, feelings that have been buried start the resurface and Corjan refuses to let the opportunity to win Bree back slip through his fingers.
Bree and Corjan were easy to route for. But 10 years is a long tine to be separated from your spouse. It seemed odd that two people who cared so deeply for each other wouldn’t try to reconcile sooner. Bree seemed to build a good life for herself in Nevada but returning to Minnesota and spending time with Corjan began to unlock her heart. Could she let the walls down and let her one true love back in?
Would Corjan be able to show Bree how he’s changed and let her know that he she was his one and only? He loves her so much and understands where he went wrong all those years ago. Will he be able to let her go if she decides she still wants to go back her life without him?
Great story telling and characters deliver a heartfelt read with some sexy banter and a little game play. Grab your copy of Strayed and see how things turn out for these two.
We meet Corjan and Bree as they are still early in their marriage. They are madly in love. Bree is working overtime to make ends meet, while Corjan has no direction, no job, and doesn’t even do chores around the house. When Bree tries one more time to express her frustration with no effect, she packs a bag and leaves.
Ten years later, we are back with our couple – separately of course. Bree is on bereavement leave and her demanding boss is calling her and referring to her absence as “vacation”. Going through the airport Bree literally bumps into Corjan. They end up with their phones swapped. Corjan has taken these ten years to become the man Bree said she wanted. He is traveling to create a partnership agreement between a Chicago rescue and his family’s rescue.
Corjan convinces Bree to return to Fairview Valley to switch phones. There she meets old friends, sees the changes in Corjan, and realizes she is not happy in her current circumstance. A medical emergency has them spending more time than expected together. Emotional, romantic, little remembered details, and definitely a “new leaf”. A delightful read.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
The beginning and ending chapters gutted me. They ripped all kind of emotions out of me. AM captured Bree’s emotions and frustration perfectly in the prologue. I wanted to scream and yell at Corjan myself. “what the hell do you do everyday?” “ help me please! I’m drowning!” I felt it all!
There are not any slow or boring parts. Nothing I want to skip over. The book flows really well with Corjan showing Bree the life that he has now because of her. He grew up to become the man he needed to be and one she deserved. One who never stopped loving her. Bree seems a little cold and stand-offish at times. She definitely seems hell bent on not having feelings for Corjan. I don’t see how she’s resisting him especially after seeing how he’s filled out and become not only a gorgeous man on the outside but the inside also. Can he finally push past all her walls and get her to see she still loves him too?
BTW: everyone needs a grownup, new & improved Corjan! *wink and a friend like Juniper
A new to me author, and I enjoyed reading Bree and Corjan’s story. Sometimes love is not enough. Sometimes it is not the right time. But Bree and Corjan have an unfinished story, mixing up their cell phones at a chance meeting years later, and we get to be along for the journey. In their time apart, has Corjan grown up? And is Bree any less stubborn?
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
This is a well written second chance romance with strong characters in Bree and Corjan. The author does a great job developing the story and weaving an entertaining and emotional storyline. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a great addition to the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This book has an easy way of giving you hope of a second chance. Corjan definitely has matured, but Bree is still very stubborn and scared, so there is always the uncertainty of if she will allow herself to see all the changes in Corjan and stop wasting time. But aside from that idea of impending doom when it comes to their relationship, there's no denying that Corjan and Bree are magic together. This is an easy and very romantic read.
Story started out strong with lots of feels to begin, then jumping to 10 years later and it contains all the new feels. We don't know how to feel about either character both happy and sad, anxious and excited. Bree is the strong woman standing up for herself and Corjan is the fun loving guy and together they are some kind of HOT, but will they be able to be together yet remain as strong as they have become? Growth and trust for each is a task that they must achieve but will they each take that extra step to get there? Moving toward their HEA brings the story full circle with the discussion of the original good bye note, as well as the mystery of the health question. Great read...
Bree and Corjan got married young, and things didn’t work out for them.
Ten years have gone by, and they encounter each other again.
Will they get a second chance of a HEA?
I rooted so hard for these two characters. Their story was emotional, but did have laugh out loud moments too. It was great second book for this series.
Strayed by A.M. Wilson is book two in the series and is a second chance romance between Corjan and Bree. They were high school sweethearts and Corjan was the love of her life. This can easily be read as a standalone but to really understand the backstory of the Powell siblings, I advise you read Abandoned first. The story starts a year into their marriage and then we meet them again ten years later. There is resentment and regrets to work through and healing and forgiveness to be had as this couple attempt to find the HEA they originally wanted.
Corjan and Bree dated and got married but things didn’t go as planned. There was no denying that this couple loved each other, it was all the other stuff that got in the way and they struggled with. He was a free spirit type of guy so she was left working and looking after the home. Love couldn’t keep a roof over their heads or pay the bills. His past had a big influence on his attitude to life and he couldn’t appreciate how it effected his wife. I understood her frustrations but felt as they were so young and she had a good relationship with his family that she could have turned to them for help. You may not agree with her choice to leave and how she gave up on her marriage.
Ten years later they unexpectedly crash into each other at an airport and accidentally take the wrong phones. This blunder leaves them with a way of connecting again. She is determined not to let him get to her but once she decides to go back home, it becomes so much harder to push the old feelings for him away. Bree has to work through everything and see if she can let go of the past. Their texts are very amusing and I loved their constant truth or dare exchanges.
Corjan had a poor start in life and marrying her was the best thing to ever happen to him. I felt sorry for him because he did realise his mistakes and went looking for her when she left. Even after all the years he still feels guilty at the hurt he’d caused her. Neither had stopped loving the other but can they find a way back together. He certainly seems to put all the effort in as he tries to persuade her to give him a second chance. He has matured and worked on being a better man. She has become a strong and independent woman. They have both changed but she is surprised how well he still knows her. Can she see the man in front of her and how hard he’s worked to be the husband she deserved.
I loved being back in the Powell Sanctuary World and their dog rescue business. His family were amazing and most were very pleased to see her again but it didn’t help they didn’t know the whole story over her leaving. The dogs again have a starring role and it was great seeing how well Lee and Juniper were getting on. I am looking forward to seeing whose story will be next.
The ending was great as Corjan righted his wrongs and proved that he knew he’d made mistakes and owned up to them but could Bree believe he really was her HEA. I enjoyed this very honest look at married life and the problems a couple can experience when true love and a strong bond is not enough to keep them together. Really sweet story about getting a second chance with the love of your life.
I LOVED this book just like I loved Abandoned! I was so curious about Corjan's story ever since it was mentioned in the first book, so imagine my reaction when the author announced his book would be next! I'd like to once again thank the author for personally sending me an ARC copy after having trouble with the website and her kindness for allowing me to submit my review a bit later than expected!😍❤🔥
Corjan was a piece of work! Than man made my heart skip a beat more times than I can count!!! 😭❤ he stayed in love with the same woman for a whole decade and couldn't BARE the thought of being with someone else! ❤❤❤ his love and faithfulness even after all those years, and the way he welcomed her back in his life as if nothing had happened just took me elsewhere completely! 😭❤❤ the man worked SO hard on himself after realizing he'd lost his only love for that reason only 💔 I honestly thought he'd just been heartbroken by a woman who did not deserve him, but turns out the story was more complicated and he was at fault as well!
Bree wasn't exactly the happiest leaving her husband and first love behind. At first I hated her when she was mentioned in the first book, but after reading her story I understood that she'd done what was best for her at the time, and I honestly think if I'd been in her shoes I would've probably done just the same. Sure, the way she left was wrong, but she did everything she could to protect herself the best way she knew how back then, and her departure was a good thing because without knowing it, she'd pushed the man to take action and fix his life. It must've been hard for her to watch him do nothing to change and plan for a better future for the both of them 💔
Their break-up was a hard pill to swallow. A wound that never truly healed because they weren't legally separated 😭💔 but their reunion was beautiful in every aspect! ❤ I'd say their story was a case of "Wright person, wrong time" but they found each other after thinking they'd never see one another again, and THAT made up for all the pain they and the reader (ME!) went through! 😭❤👌
‼️ While this could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the book Abandoned by the author!
ℙ𝕆𝕍: first person, dual

𝕄𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: This story was such a powerful second chance book! It's not your standard typical reconnection book. Their relationship so unbearably sad that I cried a couple of times.🥺🫶 The time apart for both Bree and Corjan did them wonders! They both go through a tremendous amount of healing and change. I honestly was so proud of both of them! The steam in this book was perfect for this couple! I will say, I was super surprised by a couple of different things. So was Corjan!🤣🥵🌶 Thank you, Greys promo and the author, for the opportunity of reading an ARC! I loved every second of it and can't wait until the rest of the siblings!❤️
“Because I need you to fall back in love with me.”
I dare anyone to read this book and not need an entire box of tissues. My heart ached so much for these two it bled! So much pain and loss, I don’t know how they managed to live apart so long.
Corjan stole my heart on the very first page. “I haven’t had much luck in my life…but the day this woman said I do tops the shortlist.” How could I not love him instantly? Yes, he was immature and not ready for the responsibilities of marriage, but he definitely knew how to love totally and completely, even back then. “I don’t remember what my life was like before I fell in love…Nobody expects to meet their soulmate at eighteen.” A small part of me almost hated Bree for giving up on him, even though I understood why she did, not to mention, she was also so very young. It’s not even so much that she left that bothers me, it’s that she buried her love and stayed away for ten years. And even then she fought against the love they still clearly had for each other, pretending it should stay in the past, as if the love of a man like him isn’t the incredible gift it is. She accused him of putting his life on pause but in many ways she did as well. She just lied to herself about it. I can’t believe how hard she fought him, clearly so afraid of loving him. She was determined to destroy them both rather than take a risk at happiness.
This book is absolutely fantastic! I’d give it ten stars if I could. I can’t recommend it enough. I hadn’t read the first book in the series, in fact this is my first by A.M. Wilson ever. After I finished it I went back and read book one and the truth is, it just made me love Corjan more. He’s incredible, a true bbf, and I promise, you’ll fall in love with him, too. If anyone deserves love and happiness, it’s this amazing, wonderful man. He’s certainly earned it.
“I don’t remember asking to share my oxygen with you.” “I believe that’s what our vows were for,” I rumble, basking in the way her guarded gaze snaps to mine. “And I haven’t taken a full breath in ten years.”
I’m going to be completely honest and say that I am not a big fan of second-chance romances. I think they have to be very well done in order for me to completely enjoy them.
Throughout Bree and Corjan’s story, I found myself connecting to certain aspects of their story. I also got married young to my high school sweetheart and although we’re still very happily married, there is always struggles within marriage no matter how perfect it seems.
This was a cute, quick read and I enjoyed reading jt.
Thank you to the author A.M. Wilson for providing me and e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Corjan was not a "bad husband" He was a young man who didn't know how to be a husband at all. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely. Should Bree have left him? Most likely. But her mistake was staying away for 10 years, and running when she sees him again. These aren't spoilers...it's all in the blurb. Which, I will say, misled me a bit. But obviously still intrigued me enough to read it! I understood why Bree made the decision she did. At 20-ish years old, anyway. But fast forward 10 years and Corjan got my sympathy and my support. Honestly, that man deserved a medal, because he had much more patience with Bree than I did. I'm not saying he was perfect, because he made his share of mistakes when he was a young husband. What I will say is that in my opinion, he'd grown so much more than she had and more than once I wondered why he was wasting his time trying to get through to her. But that's what second chances are all about, aren't they. And Strayed was one of the best second chance stories I've ever read. The turmoil came from the characters themselves, not from outside, meddling forces. The secondary characters added the perfect touch to the book as well...not everyone had the same reactions, but they fit the personalities of each one perfectly. I had the pleasure of reading Abandoned, the first book in the series, so I was familiar with Corjan's family. But a new reader can learn pretty quickly who's the hothead and who's the easier-going sibling. A.M. Wilson is a relatively new-to-me author, but I am loving her storytelling style and her realistic characters. I highly recommend her books, not just Strayed. But yes, especially Strayed!
This is more 3.5, but I rounded down to 4 because the guy was honestly adorable.
The reasons this isn't a solid 4 is because there was no real conflict. They married young, and she just packed her bags and left him one day without so much a goodbye. I mean, I get her reasons, he was a lazy 20 year old, but as her husband, I think he deserved atleast an explanation. And it just made me even more mad that he still loved her and waited patiently for 10 years for her to come back. Why wasn't he more angry?? Why did he forgive her so instantly? From the way it seemed, I think he loved her more than than she loved him. The imbalance was too jarring. I guess the main message was 'love isn't enough' for a relationship to last, but at times it kind of felt like she only loved him when everything goes perfectly for them. The moment things go bad or it is inconvenient for her, she lets go and runs.
I liked the characters individually, but as a couple, idk. Their interaction were very very cute, don't get me wrong, and had this book been a traditional friends/strangers to lovers, I would have totally swooned over it.. but this book is marketed 'second-chance'... I love a good second chance novel but WHERE IS THE ANGST??? There was too much baggage and hurt from the past, but they just move past it like it didn't matter. I couldn't feel the love.. *Bree's love*, to be more accurate. I don't know what he even sees in her except the fact that she was his first love... other than that.. she's frustrating.
But I guess every girl deserves a Corjan in their life, including Bree. Because that's just how amazing he is.
Ok. Truth or Dare. Truth: an incredible read. Dare: I dare you not to fall in love with Corjan and Bree. When Bree left 10 years ago it wasn’t because she didn’t love Corjan. She just didn’t know what else to do. She tried everything and it just wasn’t enough. Corjan was devastated. But in reality it was something he needed to get him focused and make something of his life. I am a true believer in fate. Bree and Corjan were destined to be together. When they first got married they may have loved each other but they weren’t ready. Both too young. They needed this time away from each other for their own personal growth. In all their time apart they never found anyone else. Now they have run into each other accidentally and fate has decided now it was their time. Bree was scared to admi her feelings because she didn’t want to get hurt again. It wasn’t that she didn’t love Corjan she didn’t know if he could actually change from how he was all those years ago and the reason why she left. Corjan has never stopped loving her and never once did he hate her. He was heartbroken when she left but when he looks back to that time he realizes the changes he had to make in his life. He had a lot of growing up to do. Now that she has come back he will do everything to show her just how much he has changed and he is ready to be the man he promised her to be. He has a limited amount of time and he doesn’t want to lost her a second and final time. But will she believe he has changed and will she give him a final chance.
Having read Ms.Wilson's work many times before i always look forward to picking up more of her books! As soon as i stumbled across the synopsis for this one i knew i had to read it next. I got right into this story. I so enjoyed it!
Bree and Corjan's journey captured my attention right from the very go! When someone has your heart it's not easy to move on from that, something Bree and Corjan sure know when it comes to each other. These two got married young and ended with them going their separate ways. A chance encounter brings them back into each other's orbit, can they fight for everything between them?
Bree and Corjan both pulled me in. I really liked getting to see how the tough in their marriage. I enjoyed the different way these two were brought back into each other's lives and how i was on edge, waiting to see how it'd all unfold for them. I felt for both Bree and Corjan and connected with them in different ways throughout. The realness and connection between these two i so adored! Both Bree and Corjan had me feeling so much.
This story showed that life can surprise you and lead you and your heart right where you are meant to be.
With Strayed, Ms.Wilson has created such a good second chance journey that brought so many feels! I am so looking forward to reading what she brings our way next! Definitely check out her work if you haven't already!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Grey's Promotions / the author*
Overall I really enjoyed this book! I loved Corjan. I didn't love Bree right away but it didn't take long to warm up to her. These two have a deep connection, an undeniable pull to each other that goes back to their beginning. Young love, struggles, and a much needed growth, and time apart has changed a lot of things for both of them. The back and forth that they have has they reconnect, the way that is handled throughout the read, pulls me into their lives. Corjan has a strong family around him, I loved that strength and bond that they have. Bree is determined, maybe a bit bullheaded, just a small bit, protecting herself. He's always been committed to the love of his life, his marriage, and everything that it means.
I am going to be checking out other books from this series and looking forward to who may be next!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 2 in series but easily stands alone. In this book we get to know estranged marriage couple Corjan and Bree. They fell in love in high school, married and then she strayed away, leaving him after he would not grow up and get a job or help her around the house. Now ten years later at age 33 they run into each other at an airport and by accident switch cell phones. So starts a very fun set of phone text messages and eventually Bree comes home to get her phone from Corjan.
Corjan has never blamed her for leaving. He actually is thankful because it's what got him to grow up and get serious about getting a job and learning to adult. But he still loves and wants her back.
Can he win her heart? Can his family forgive her for the way she left? And will they sign the divorce papers or get a second chance?
I am not spoiling any of it.
This was a wonderful second chance romance between two people who still love each other but who really had to grow up first to learn how precious love really is. I loved all the family members that help them along the way from Bree's cousin Janie and her philosophy of "do you first". Jack and Lee and Jude and the whole Powell family were just awesome, and I cannot wait to read more about them.
I thought I couldn’t love any Powell more than Lee but Corjan is next level.
The happy go lucky flirt isn’t quite what he advertised after all and this book is so much more of a heart breaker than you think.
I totally understood and respected what Bree did and why she did it, and I love the people they became in the time apart.
I definitely felt like through the book Corjen was the only one who truly realised that her reasons and the way she left were valid. There were moments I wanted to shake Bree and tell her to believe in the process more and trust herself that though what she did caused pain, staying would have been more painful and this was the way their story was meant to be. Even the Powell family frustrated me a little in this regard but given Corjen’s white lies this isn’t a surprise.
I love how he worked so hard to show Bree that he was now the man she wanted and the man she needed in her life. I actually liked that she wanted to but had serious doubts about believing in their happy ever after again.
My heart is full having read this book and I can’t wait for the next in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Strayed was one of those stories that was hard to understand from my point of view since I didn't necessarily agree with every decision made. On the flip side, it made it very realistic in my eyes since love is messy at the end of the day, and people have flaws so this story actually did my heart in. Bree & Corjan got married young, and things happened as they do with young people so she ended up leaving him with only a note after one too many bad fights. They haven't seen each other in ten years until fate intervenes & they come face to face but go their separate ways, however, again fate was involved so their phones were switched & that was how she ended up back in the town she left a decade ago. This round, Corjan has grown up so he's made it crystal clear that this time, he's determined to work things out since he's grown up & ready to right his wrongs since he's never stopped loving her. She's never stopped loving him either, but she's scared of course so buckle up to experience a most emotional second chance story & maybe just maybe they'll finally get that happily ever after! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
~ By Tina
Corjan and Bree were high school sweethearts, who married young, and were not equipped to manage the struggles and responsibilities of married life, work, and home. Bree makes the heartbreaking decision to leave, and while Corjan is devastated, he matured and grew up to become the man he needed to be, and the one Bree deserved. Now 10-years later fate has destined them to cross paths again, and when Bree accidently collides into him at a busy airport, they mistakenly pick up each other’s phones. Corjan is determined to break through the walls surrounding Bree’s heart and convince her to give them another chance. This is a beautifully written emotional roller coaster, with regrets, resentment, family, friendships, humor, witty banter, romance, heartbreak, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Not the typical second chance at love/the one that got away. The book brought out so many feelings in me. I could relate to Bree. And to the decision she had to make. For her own sake and sanity. Sometimes we make choices and make decisions and take action that those around us disagree with. But those choices are the best for the present time. Bree had to make that choice in leaving her perfect imperfect husband Corjan. Both were young. Both had different ideas in how they wanted to live and how they wanted their lives to go. Which did not correspond with each other. Corjan isn’t a bad man by any means. He truly loves Bree. But his priorities differ from hers. Yeah sometimes love isn’t enough to make things work. A very well written story. That’s raw and emotional. Very relatable. Loved reading Bree and Corjan’s journey. Finding love, losing her soulmate and recapturing what was lost to make it better and stronger.
