This was a great read as far as diving into specific areas of research regarding goddess and women's studies while still getting a survey of goddesses across many traditions. I really appreciated the format of this book, which was a compilation of papers. Some of the papers I liked better than others. I found myself primarily interested in Canaanite and Hebrew goddess imagery, although I also found the goddess discussion in relation to Buddhism very fascinating. If you want to see how goddesses affect the lives of real women, then this book offers a lot!
