Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

The Sins We Hide was my first Scarlett Cole novel and I wan't sure what to expect. What I got was a darker, grittier storyline with characters that are definitely a bit crass and rough around the edges - I loved it! Super fast paced with a dash of romantic suspense, it definitely held my attention to the end. The chemistry between them is just off the chain. I LOVE when the MCs like each other as children, get separated, but somehow find their way back together again. The descriptions of them as kids, with her on the back of his "bike" left a smile on my face for hours. Super excited for future stories in this series and will be marking my calendar!

“You and me. Ride or die. It’s the only way I want it.”

5 stars!

Scarlett Cole has stepped into the darker side of romance, writing as S. Cole and introducing the Iron Outlaws MC series. This book is a raw, gritty and sexy childhood friends-enemies-lovers/brother’s-best-friend, MC romance, with fantastic characters, and all of the emotion and heart-pounding romance that I love about this author's writing. Full of feels and intensity, I absolutely loved this one!

Landon and Gwen grew up together, and together with her twin brother, Uther, they were the best of friends. Her father was the President of the Iron Outlaws MC, Landon’s father was the VP, and their lives were intertwined in all the ways. As young teens, they loved each other, though they never got the chance to do anything about it, because Gwen’s mother packed her up and left in the middle of the night, cutting off all contact with the boys.

Fifteen years later, Landon is now ‘Clutch’, VP of the Outlaws, while Gwen’s brother ‘King’, is the new President following the death of their father. They’re only just settling into their new roles when Gwen comes back into their lives. She’s in trouble and on the run, and though she hates it, she goes to the only place she knows where she’ll be protected – into the heart of the Mc. But the mystery around her and her mother leaving, and events that have happened in the meantime mean that she’s not exactly welcome. And the men she is faced with are far removed from the caring brother and the boy she used to love. Now all grown up and completely badass, they don’t trust her, or her sudden reappearance, so she’s put under close watch – with Clutch as her guard.

It’s a great set up, and from the moment Gwen arrives at the Outlaws compound, I could feel the epic chemistry between her and Clutch. There’s so much anger and distrust there, and though they both may be feeling some nostalgia for the old days, they are clearly on opposite sides, and their first few encounters are fiery and full of bitter snark and resentment. But there is a spark of something there, and it doesn’t take long before we see a hint of the feels to come.

I stride purposely to the bed and place my big palms on either side of her head on my pillow. “I really hope I don’t have to kill you, Gwen. Because it’s pretty awesome having you back, and you’re too fucking hot to die young.”
I place a kiss on her forehead. One that surprises both of us. It’s not long enough to truly be much of anything, but it lasts long enough that I feel it all the way to the bottom of my weary-ass feet.

Clutch is a complete badass. He loves the biker life, and he revels in all of aspects of it. But the man has one weakness… Gwen. She’s back in his life, and he very quickly realises that this is the chance with her he always wanted and never got, and even though the new Prez has made it clear that the boys of the club are to keep their hands off Gwen, Clutch is not about to let her get away this time.

“Some things are worth dying for, babe.” The words are out before I can stop them. We’re too good together to let this go regardless of the consequences. Then I kiss her.

Oh, holy damn, these two are so freaking hot together! Their passion for each other is wild, Clutch is a filthy talker, and the sexy time is intense, dirty and all consuming. All of the emotion that was between them is still very much there, only amplified by their sizzling connection, and they fall hard and fast for each other.

“I just got you back, and I’m not ready to let you go.”

It’s a gorgeous romance, and I absolutely loved Clutch and Gwen together! Yes, it’s sexy as all hell, but there is SO much emotion between these two, and I loved seeing big, badass Clutch become an epically swoony romantic hero who would do anything to protect his girl.

“I put you above everything, Gwen.”

But there is still so much they have to face together. Firstly, their relationship defies a direct order from the MC President, Gwen’s brother, King. Then there is the more pressing issue of the threat that Gwen is facing. There are murders and shootouts, and I loved the intensity of it all! They’ll have to unravel the secret of what happened between their families in the past in order to figure out the danger that they’re facing in the present, and it’s an exciting and intriguing journey as they do that.

And then there’s the fact that Gwen doesn’t want the MC life. She has to reconcile the love she feels for Landon with the reality of who Clutch is, and she proves herself to be quite the badass as she works through her feelings and figures out where she needs to be.

“This is something Clutch needs to take care of. But when Landon walks back out of that prison, I’m going to be here to take care of him.”
I’m a badass motherfucker, but I feel like my heart just met a fucking cheese grater. She loves both sides of me.

In terms of other MC romance books I have read, the Iron Outlaws are a 1%er club (which means that they are violent killers who deal in guns and drugs, have a bevy of club ‘bitches’, and they make their own rules). It’s definitely darker than Cole’s other reads, and there’s a raw grittiness to the life which I enjoyed reading. But it’s not as intense as other MC series I have read, and Clutch’s sweetness with Gwen in the middle of all of the nasty is really beautiful to see. And as for other women… .

I loved this book. It’s got a great balance of darkness, with a beautifully emotional, playful and sexy (filthy) love story. There are moments in this book that I read over and over again, just to take it all in. I love Clutch and Gwen, I loved the introduction to other members of the club, and cannot wait to read more about them as the series continues.

A fantastic series starter, and my first fave for 2023!

5 stars!

Fate Finds a Way
The Sins We Hide is a gritty, unapologetic MC romance. The characters, plot, and setting all contribute to an expertly executed romantic suspense thrill ride. From beginning to end, there is mystery, intrigue, and emotional conflict. The stakes are high for everyone involved, including the reader.

Gwen has been gone for thirteen years. She and her mother disappeared in the night just as some of the Iron Outlaws MC members were caught in a sting. Her sudden reappearance has both King and Clutch apprehensive about her motives. Although, Clutch desperately wants to believe her intentions are true. As bullets fly, bonds are tested.

Despite the time and distance they have endured, the chemistry between Gwen and Clutch still beats strong. Clutch is a loyal friend and Iron Outlaw MC member. He has never longed for anything else except...for Gwen. A direct order from his prez puts Gwen off limits. But the longer they are in close proximity, the harder it is to resist the pull of fate. The sexytimes are scorching. Cluth is an alpha in the streets and in the sheets. Yet, he has a tender side that is just for Gwen. He doesn't sugarcoat things for her and won't apologize for who he is. He won't jeopardize what they have together because she is who he wants in his life. Gwen just needs to be open to the possibility of forever with him, even if club life scares her. And soon Clutch is willing to risk it all to keep Gwen safe and make her his!

Scarlett Cole does romantic suspense so well. I am extremely glad that she decided to delve back into this subgenre. Along with her great character development, the world building and plot twists are outstanding. This was a great start to the Iron Outlaws MC series. I can’t wait to see where the ride takes us next!

Amazing MC Read

This was a 5+++ star read for me with all of the MC action, the family dynamics, and the steam coming off the pages. King has just taken over as Prez of the Iron Outlaws MC since his father was killed in an accident and King’s best friend since kids, Clutch, is his VP. Things are really turned upside down when King’s twin sister, Gwen, show’s up out of the blue looking for help because her she was just shot and her mother was gunned down which happened to be the very same day his dad was killed.

King and Gwen haven’t seen each other for years because one night their mother went in to the witness protection program with her daughter leaving King behind with his father learning the ins and out of the club. Clutch and Gwen had always been friends but King has warned the whole club off from his sister.

This was a fantastic book with so much going on I haven’t even touched on. There were betrayals among so many, secrets that have been kept for years coming to life and a romance that was hard and dirty but with love that bled through. I highly recommend this book and look forward for more books to come in this series!!

The Sins We Hide by S. Cole is a new series and a new pen name for one of my favorite authors, Scarlett Cole. This is a contemporary romance about an MC club.

Gwen and Uther are twins who were separated by their parents. Each thought the other parent had done horrible things. But, when both parents die, Gwen knows she has to get help from Uther because someone is trying hard to kill her. That also means she has to face her childhood crush/first love, Landon.

Iron Outlaws MC is not filled with choirboys and saints. They do illegal stuff and they aren't planning to change that. Murder, sex, and general mayhem is standard fair here. Gwen's mother spoke freely about how awful the club was and that they would kill her if she ever returned. Uther and the rest of the club know it was Gwen's mother who turned them in to the feds years ago, resulting the the death of a club member, and the imprisonment of many others. So, Uther and Gwen have some stuff to work out. Landon doesn't want to like Gwen, but remembers how close they were and he slowly realizes he doesn't want to be without her.

The second chance romance between Landon and Gwen was really well done. There are so many secrets and lies they grew up believing, building trust is difficult. Add in the drama from a couple of the club girls and the unknown person determined to kill Gwen and you have a relationship that is going to be hard won. I loved the suspense as well! Overall, The Sins We Hide was just a total hit for me. My only issue was the portrayal of the catty OW drama, but I feel that often with MC reads. I am so excited for the next book because you get a taste of the characters in this book and I am curious!

  POV: dual 1st

I could have easily read this book in one sitting, but I didn't. I made the choice to take my time and pay very close attention to every circumstance and plot-point for several reasons. First because it's a first in a series and an MC series at that, so I knew there would be quite a few different characters I might have to keep up with. Second because this is the author's first swim in an MC romance world and because I love her words deeply, I wanted to catch it all! Third because at only 4% I knew without a doubt she had nailed it!

Ya'll ... put your seatbelts on, it's gonna get bumpy ... FTC

S. Cole, and her alter ego, Scarlett Cole, is a new to me author, but I have a feeling I will be diving through her backlist soon! As the first book in a new series, The Sins We Hide was the perfect place to start, and now I’m hooked.

I’m always leery of new MC stories. A lot of them read as romance novels where the hero (or anti-hero) happens to be a member of a club, just as if he was an accountant or a plumber. It is simply the career label, not an entire lifestyle. But when I’m reading about an MC world, I want it to permeate everything. S. Cole’s book does just this. It’s gritty and violent and while it was more romance-y than some other MC’s, it didn’t lose the darkness or crudeness that pulls me in to these types of stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed Clutch and Gwen. The second chance, rekindling a first love was really sweet, juxtaposed to the world of the motorcycle club. Clutch was both the VP of the Iron Outlaws, and the boy that Gwen fell in love with when she was a teenager. He still existed in both forms, and I fell a little bit in love with that. And the fact that he recognized that Gwen did not grow up in the same world as him made me adore him even more. Yes, he was crude and violent. But he was also a man who cared about the people close to him and had a sense of honor.

The author did a good job in setting up the circumstances of the next book, and creating characters who I already like going in. I can’t wait for the Iris and Spark to clash in the next story, and would recommend this as a great MC novel to join from the very start.

S. Cole brings suspense, intrigue and spice to the pages with the start of her new Iron Outlaws MC series in The Sins We Hide!

With a clever twist of the King Arthur legend, from names to betrayals, this story held lots of secrets and sins busting at the seams to be revealed. Childhood sweethearts separated and unexpectedly reunited Landon and Gwen were not without obstacles to overcome, yet their attraction and lifelong loyalty prevailed in the end. Landon's noble deeds and inclinations often conflicted with the lifestyle he had chosen but made him an extremely appealing hero in his contrast. Gwen was the prize worth fighting for and defending, showing her grit when the time came to. This couple's devotion and love for each other was as sweet as it was steamy. An interesting secondary cast kept this story moving and built up interest for future stories in this series.

S. Cole aka Scarlett Cole is an author worth committing to. With a solid body of works that stand out collectively and on their own she makes the case for one clicking. Her stories are always emotional and angsty with a foundation of strong portrayals that are complicated and compelling. The Sins We Hide is a good start to what promises to be a wild ride of a series!

Well, damn. It’s like the author heard “MC romance” and she said, "I'm going to do it better than most.”

MC Romances aren’t for the faint of heart and they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I get it. First you have to weed through a lot of junk to find one with decent writing, then a majority of the time you are required to set aside your morals while they refer to women as “sweetbutts” or “club whörēs” just to enjoy a little motorcycle-riding hotness.

But when you find a good one, it’s like Charlie Hunnam is whispering in your ear. I can't stop reaching for that.

This was one of the good ones.

The writing is top-notch. The characters are complex and mature. The smut in this... my god. So well done. And the #healthyasscommunication?! I ate that shit up. Words like “trust” and “consent” are thrown out like they actually matter making me love the story that much more. There was no “just deal” or “we’ll talk about this later” that tends to drive me nuts, because THEY NEVER TALK ABOUT IT. In this they did, immediately.

I paused as I was highlighting another sentence and actually said to myself, “damn, this is good writing.” Which happens so much less than you’d think.

Also, authors, take note, this is how you use a nickname like “princess” without beating it to death.

This felt like the most romantic MC book I’ve ever read.

*I received a free copy of The Sins We Hide. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

The Sins We Hide is an MC romance about Gwen and Clutch, who grew up together, but then lost sight of each other for years. And it was not happy circumstances that brought them back together.

As they got to know each other again, they had to deal with the aftermath of not only Gwen's mother's murder, but also the sudden accidental death of her father, the former president of the club. And because of the past, not even her twin brother is really happy to see her back in town.

Well written, with a good plot, and also characters who grow nicely, I enjoyed this novel and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Wow! What an explosive start to a new series. I couldn’t put it down and stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it! Fantastic characters with a FMC with so much agency and the balls to do what feels right for her in a take no BS kind of way.

Can’t wait for the rest of this series now!

Unintentionally, read in one sitting. Once I started, I didn't want to put the book down.

I guess after reading over 200, MC romance books you could say that I like this trope. And I do.
I did feel at times though, that the author was trying to teach me the logistics of MC, over explaining what a one percenter was. I haven't read many MC books were the characters are law abiding citizens, that's the attraction right there. Its a romance with a bad boy.

After a break of reading MC for a while I decided to delve right back in knowing this was the Authors first book in this trope and under a new name (not sure I understand the reason for the new pen/name change, I read most tropes as a reader ? And don't paint each author with the same brush either)
They should be able to write different tropes under the same name...right?

Anyway, turned out, I jumped back into the MC world with ease.
The author made it easy, the story flowed, and it was addictive. The plot had the right balance of club stuff, personal stuff, action, danger and romance. AND, it was told in first person dual pov, meaning I could get Into the heads of the characters.

I would definitely read the next book, my spidey reading senses immediately pricked to attention when I read between the lines early in the book when the irish mafias neice crossed paths with the MC.
Mafia and MC are equally exciting reads to me so when they cross paths = 🔥

I read in KU, also available to purchase on amazon.

***5 Stars***

This was a great start to a new series by the author. I was hooked from the first page and I am all in to get to know the various and colorful characters we’ve already met better and see where the series takes them and me.

I loved Gwen and Landon aka Clutch. Gwen is an enigma. She is softness mixed with steel. There were times when I really wanted her to dig her heels in, and she didn’t, and yet there were other times when she did that I didn’t think she would. Landon is rough edged, but loyal to a fault, even if it means putting his heart on the line.

Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. They both deal with trust issues and finding a common ground after dealing with a life time of secrets, but they have a connection that started in childhood, and which never truly got cut when Gwen had to leave, and it only evolves into something more and leads them to being what each other never knew they needed or wanted.

I’ve been a fan of the authors since picking up her very first book, so it should come as no surprise that I made grabby hands at this one, MC or not, and I have to say, she did a great job with this book. It drew me in right away and I like how there wasn’t too much outside drama and what drama there was, was pertinent to Gwen and Landon and the main issue at hand. I loved meeting the members of the MC, as well as Cillian, and though Spark’s book is up next ~ which I’m totally looking forward to ~ I have to say King’s book is the one I’m truly looking forward to. He has a lot weighing on his shoulders and I’m curious to see who he will allow in to help him lessen that load.

This 𝐌𝐂 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 has 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 I hoped for in spades!
Gwen and Clutch are incredible characters that I instantly liked. They were childhood friends so, the instant chemistry and affection worked for me.
I love the bit of 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 romance aspect, Clutch is best friends (and MC club VP) to Gwen’s twin brother, King who is the President of the Iron Outlaws MC.
I love the pair’s 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, their fighting that’s their unique form of 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 and I love their journey as they struggle to trust.
It’s 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲, it’s 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥, it’s 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐲, 𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐀𝐍𝐃 it’s a 𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐲 yet also very 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 story.
The pace and flow were perfect, the character development is great and the secondary characters were fantastic. They are quirky, likable characters and they add depth to the MC lifestyle vibe and the feeling of chosen family.
It’s a 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 and it’s a story with a 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 plot with 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 and 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬. I 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 it!
This is a departure from the authors previous books. It’s much darker, grittier and naughtier in a fantastic way. I think she does emotional, sexy rockstar romance incredibly 𝐀𝐍𝐃 with this book she did MC, darker, suspenseful romance just as well. I’m so excited and anxious to read the next book in this new series. The characters should be quite interesting and explosive.

There is no way in hell that the same author who wrote the beauty of Jordan Reclaimed, wrote this hot garbage.

This book is seriously a parody of Sons of Anarchy written by a high schooler, down to the “old broads” and drinking Tennessee whiskey because cliches have to make up for the lack of imagination.

I feel so duped. Run far away from this stupidity and save yourselves.

S. Cole has a new book in store for you, but it's not what you might be expecting from her. I've loved Scarlett Cole's work in the past, so I'm really excited to see her branching out with book one, The Sins We Hide, in a brand new series- Iron Outlaws MC. This story took me on a wild ride with darker themes, hot and spicey romance and some deeply buried secrets from the past, just begging to be uncovered. References to a certain legendary Arthurian kingdom was a fun surprise and a clever addition to the story that I  really appreciated as well.

Something dark and dangerous had gone down long ago, sending 13 year old Gwen and her mom running, leaving their lives, half of their family and all of her heart behind, never to be seen or heard from again. She lost everything she loved that night in the blink of an eye. Their hasty departure had created uproar and speculation in the clubhouse for the past 15 years- who is loyal and who can't be trusted is still the unanswered, burning question. Secrets can't be kept forever and the mystery of the 'who' takes some crazy twists and turns as this thread continues to unravel throughout this story.

So now, years later when her life is imploding, Gwen seeks sanctuary in the only safe place she can go- back to the Iron Outlaws, hoping to find protection and answers of her own. Being home again feels both familiar and completely changed with her father gone and suspicious mistrust in her brother's eyes when he sees her for the first time in forever. Landon/ Clutch, her childhood friend and secret crush is all grown up now, a gorgeous, dangerous man, his loyalty pledged to the MC and his brothers in arms. He's very angry to see her again and is determined to shake the truth out of her one way or another, even if it means locking her away in his room until he finds what he needs.

Landon is swoony in a rough, possessive and intense sort of way. His tender side is all for Gwen and her alone. I loved that about him- that he can be hard and unyeilding when his club needs him to be, but soft and loving just for her. He wants her to chose him, the club and the life he has to offer, but will Gwen take a chance or will fear convince her to walk away forever?

"I don’t want to fall in love with a man if I’m going to lose him before age and the natural order of things happen."

Gwen knows the MC life can be hard, especially for a woman that loves one of its own. She was raised by a strong woman who taught her to be independent and fearless but wonders if this can truly be the life for her.

"I’m going to steer her and show her until she can see it too. Because this, what just happened between us . . . you don’t find that every day. Even in her world. It’s something more."

Talk about a wicked rollercoaster of emotions and situations. The Sins We Hide will take you on a wild ride down the winding road to the truth of what led up to that night of betrayal long ago and who was involved, not letting up even if you wanted it to- which you won't!

Suspenseful twists, unexpected plot turns with revenge and drama all line up to keep you guessing until the very end. The intricate world that Scarlett Cole is building has a multitude of unique characters with their own exciting stories to tell, some beginning here and others going forward in future books. Some you'll love and others you'll love to hate but you definitely won't want to miss any of what comes next in the Iron Outlaws MC world.

I received an early copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I don’t normally read MC books. I find the violence and misogyny too much. But I did get hooked on Tillie Cole’s Hades Hangmen series and Scarlet Cole is one of my favourite authors. I knew before starting that this series written under S. Cole was a MC series and would be darker but it didn’t matter. When I already trust an author, that’s good enough for me.

Gwen, our heroine, comes from the MC culture. Her father was the president until very recently when he was killed in a violent accident and now her twin brother Uther is prez. She hadn’t been involved in the lifestyle for a number of years though until her mother is gunned down in front of her and Gwen herself is shot. She heads to the club for answers and protection.

Once there she runs into Landon, her brother’s best friend, VP and her childhood friend and crush. There are still very strong feelings between the two of them but Gwen has very strong issues with the entire lifestyle. It’s very violent. And illegal. And the way they treat women, only as receptacles for their needs and desires is abhorrent to her. As is the fact that many of the women are willing participants. But the bond between Gwen and Landon is so strong, he promises fidelity and respect and openness, as far as he can go, to her. But is that enough for her? Does she want to become involved in the lifestyle her mother escaped from?

And as she tells her story and learns her father died on the same day as her mother, it becomes apparent that there was a hit on both parents and continues with her and Uther. They need to find out who put the hit out and why.

I’ll be honest. I was uncomfortable with parts of this book. It’s way outside my norm and my comfort zone. But I also found it compelling and very hard to put down. And there’s nothing wrong with turning our reading world upside down once in a while. I completely bought in that Landon would do as he told Gwen he would. She was it for him and he wouldn’t risk what he has with her. And as with her books under Scarlet Cole, this is very well written and very readable.

So even though I’m not a reader of this trope, I highly recommend this book. I had preordered the second book in the series, out just a couple of days ago, before I read this one and I can say very smart of me.

The Sins We Hide was fast-paced and gripping. It was gritty in the ways I expect from an MC themed story and it grabbed me by the throat and pulled me in from page 1.

Gwen and her twin, Uther, grew up with Landon, doing all the things kids do. Yes, they were children of members of an MC, but they went to school together, rode bikes together, played together. There was always something special between Gwen and Landon. Until her mother took her away in the middle of the night without explanation. Gwen never saw her father again. Now Gwen's back. Having lost her mom, she know learns she's lost her dad, too, and her brother and Landon are now King and Clutch, President and Vice President of the Iron Outlaws.

Clutch doesn't want all the feelings that come racing back to the forefront with Gwen's return. But once details are out in the open, he realizes Gwen might be back to stay and more importantly, she's in danger. Naturally he goes all out to win the heart of the girl he's loved since he was a kid as well as doing all in his power to neutralize the threat to her.

While the romance between Gwen and Clutch moved a little quickly in certain phases, I enjoyed watching them get to know one another again. And their chemistry was explosive. I also appreciated getting to meet the brothers of the MC and see the camaraderie and dynamics between members of MC clubs and their families. The mystery and suspense element was also riveting. Honestly, I didn't guess everything that ended up being behind the trouble following Gwen and King.

I look forward to continuing the series now that I know the club and its members. And since this danger seems extinguished, I'm eager to see what else will befall this chapter of the Iron Outlaws.

MC romance is probably my all time favorite troupe so I was more than excited for this book.

The challenge with most MC reads is that often experience what I see as misogynistic, sexist, and somewhat unfair behavior in that world when looking through the lens of middle class American. Having said that, these elements fascinate and intrigue me. Of course it also doesn’t hurt that this genre has some knee clinching naughtiness and when you add the crazy ride of emotions, it is a win win. It is my version of a walk on the wild side. Haha.

Clutch and Gwen were raised together in the same club. He was the VP’s son and she was the President’s daughter. Their world got blown apart when they were barely teenagers. Because of this they were separated for years. No I won’t give the details. Read the book cause it is captivating. Eek.

This story heats up with angst, violence, and smexy time. Yikes. Sooo good. You get a band of brothers *swoon* and the prodigal daughter returning. As secrets are revealed plan to fall more in love with our alpha-hole and the girl that got away.

Ugh I need the next book in the series since this author has perfected her ability to tease with all the supporting characters.

Ok enough said. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

Is there anything Scarlett Cole can't write? From smokin' hot quarrelling rockers in rainy Manchester to fearless New Jersey bikers, those one percenters who live and die by their own set of rules. Scarlett not only brings the heat. But delivers characters and story lines that you just want to read more off.

And I can definitely say The Sins We Hide, which is a departure in both content and sexiness is a huge winner.

As I couldn't put it down!! And not only did I read through the night, but I wanted more! More of Uther, Clutch, Vex, Spark, Gwen and everyone else who played a part in a story that delivered in every way.

From the emotion of Gwen's reappearance to the truth of what happened to make her mum take her and leave. To the fiery friends to enemies to lovers romance between her and vice president of the club Clutch.

This is an MC romance that has it all and it's up there with the best I've read!!

Now roll on March so I can get my hands on Spark and Iris' story.

I would definitely recommend The Sins We Hide to all.

My thanks to Scarlett and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the opportunity to read an early copy of The Sins We Hide. 😊

17/20 - https://www.leslecturesdemylene.com/2...

Preteen Gwen and her mother disappears in the middle of the night the same time a sting operation took place at the Iron Outlaws MC. Coincidence?
The club always thought the prez's wife had ratted them out. Then the unexplainable happens.
On the run Gwen returns to the club looking for her Dad's help since her mother had been murdered and herself shot only to find out that both parents had been buried the same day in two different states. Coincidence?
King has taken over his father's reign as prez. With his twin sister returning he's not sure if she's a plant.
Clutch couldn't believe his teen crush was back. The sizzling chemistry is still there as their relationship grows. Obstacles are thrown in their path not only testing their love but their safety as well.
Someone has a vendetta against King and Gwen and nothing will stop them until they both are dead.
Betrayals, secrets, mystery, suspense and sizzling scenes.
Can't wait for next installment The Games We Play!! Spark and Iris's story!! Irish crime family meets the MC!

The Sins We Hide introduces us to Gwen and Clutch and many more of The Iron Outlaws MC.

Although a change of direction for Scarlett Cole writing as S Cole, this book swiftly captures the reader's attention and never wanes in its ability to keep you turning page after page.

As you would expect from an MC romance, there is a gritty side to the members' reality in the usual form of the over indulgence in many things but most especially loyalty.

Apart from the budding romance between Clutch and Gwen, this novel leads us to uncover a long standing mystery which has a fatal impact given recent events, for the members and their families.

As the story unfolds more and more clues lead to the ultimate conclusion, and what a conclusion it is!

This is so much more than a run of the mill MC romance and sits right up there with some of the best romantic suspense I've read.

Bravo S Cole on a fabulous start to a new series.

This was one of those books that grabs you in a choke hold from page one and doesn’t let go until the end. I read this in one sitting because there was no way for me to put it down I had to know how it would all play out. I loved Clutch and Gwen and who doesn’t love a second chance romance especially when you throw in hot bikers and our FMC is in danger and our sexy MMC goes into straight protective mode *swoon*. This was a fantastic read and I cannot wait for the next one.

This was such an awesome beginning to a brand new MC Series!
Mystery, Intrigue, Betrayal, and Romance made certain I couldn't put it down 'til I'd consumed it cover to cover.
The characters were likeable, believable, and easy to fall for. There were a few twists and turns I didn't see coming, and I loved it all.

Now this is how you kick off a new series and pen name. I was lucky enough to read a very early copy of this book and was absolutely blown away by it. This book is AMAZING! 5 stars will not cover how good it is. I can’t stress that enough. Hands down one of my favourite books of the year.

I will admit that I’ve grown bored with the MC romance genre but knowing how much I normally love this author's writing, I gave it a go and all I can say is wow! The Sins We Hide grabbed hold of my attention from the opening page and kept me glued to the pages till I was done and I was sitting there with a book in my hands thinking damn that was a freaking good story and I want the whole series NOW!

Be warned dear reader, this isn’t your sweet romance story. This is a gritty, dark, full on heat, in your face romance that is everything a MC story should be. If you don’t like swearing, super hot sex and enough testosterone and alpha men to fill a football stadium many times over, find another book.

The story of Clutch and Gwen is at the center of the book as it should be and while there are moments when you want to hate either of them. Turn the page and you will love them and be cheering as they fight so very much to be together. Not to mention these two give new meaning to combustible. To say they burn up the pages is an understatement. There are scenes that could only be described as one handed reads.

From Gwen’s brother and the president of the club, death, distance, club loyalty and much more, they go through a lot to finally get the HEA that has been on the cards since they were kids and it’s so worth the journey.

While Gwen and Clutch are the crux of the story, this is also a story about a MC club and all that entails with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing what’s going to happen next as you inhale the story as you are trying to go slow and savor the greatness of the book.

Add in secondary characters that at times steal the page (hello Spark) and you have a start to a new series that is beyond amazing, it’s phenomenal and addictive.

I am already desperate for more and have re-read it a couple of times to tide me over. Bring on more, I’m ready to brand my ass as an Iron Outlaws Old Lady.

Well that was a ride!!!

I love a real gritty and raw MC romance and this has everything you could want…alpha bikers, turf wars, double crossing, road trips, over indulgence in all life’s pleasures and the unwavering connection of brotherhood and belonging.
Clutch is a biker for life, devoted to his cut. The Iron Outlaws MC are his whole life. His newly appointed role of vice -president is one he holds with immense pride.
Gwen finds herself back at the clubhouse in need of her fathers help…only to find him dead, the club in mourning and her brother as the new Prez….her return sets in motion a series of events and brings some shocking revelations for the club and puts its future in peril.

The love between Gwen and Clutch builds quickly but believably and I found myself cheering for them. Their connection is fire, dirty and sometimes rough interspersed with some real intimacy. I loved her grit and fire, her refusal to be treated like one of the club girls. Clutch has a heart underneath all his leather and it beats only for Gwen. But after all the heartbreak and truths can she see herself living the MC life?

Great story, wonderful characters and an intriguing lead into the next story….definitely looking out for that!

“Any guy who tells you he doesn’t look at other women is a born liar. But a real man knows when he’s got the very best woman there is.”

The Sins We Hide is the first book in S.Cole's (Scarlett Cole’s) Iron Outlaws MC series. If you're paying attention while you’re reading you’ll clearly see the setup for the next book. I have a feeling that it’s going to be just as good as this one.

After leaving in the dead of the night with her mother as a teenager, Gwen has no choice but to return to her brother and the MC he’s now the president of. What she doesn’t realize is that she isn’t welcomed back with open arms. Gwen has no idea why she was unexpectedly ripped away from her brother and father and forced to begin a new life far from her home. Her mother would not speak of her husband or son, and would not tell Gwen why they left. She was only told it was to keep her safe.

In the present day, Gwen's brother, King, blames their mother for being a rat and selling out the MC to law enforcement. Nothing is as it seems. The only thing for certain is that her life is in danger and she hopes her brother will help.

The MC life isn’t what Gwen wants, but when she sees the boy she loved as a teenager, all bets are off. Landon was her first love. And she was his - they never had the chance to explore their feelings because she was sent off with her mother without anyone knowing. She’s back at the MC and Landon’s feelings come bubbling to the service despite trying to hide them. Will it be enough for her to stay? Will she run from the MC life again? Will they find who is hunting her and why? Will her loved ones be hurt or worse trying to protect her? These are all things weighing heavy on her mind.

“I put you above everything, Gwen”
“We barely know each other.”
“We’ve known each other our whole lives.”

What you get:
*best friend’s sister/MC president's sister
*MC princess is off limits
*friends -> enemies -> lovers
*touch her and die alpha
*first loves/second chance
*spice (just a tiny sprinkle of CNC and praise)

This was my first book from this author. It was a great MC read. The setup for book 2 is solid and I'm already looking forward getting my hands on it. Looks like I have to wait a few months.

Clutch is VP of the Iron Outlaws MC, his best friend since childhood King has just recently taken over as Prez after his own father was killed in an accident which has obviously had a major impact on the club itself. Things are thrown into further chaos when Gwen, King’s twin sister turns up at the clubhouse looking for help after having been involved in an incident where as well as being shot herself their mother was gunned down too, unfortunately losing her life as a result.

Things are even more complicated as Gwen and King haven’t been part of one another's lives for years, Gwen along with their mother disappeared into a witness protection program leaving King behind with their father to learn the ins and outs of being part of an MC, now Gwen’s back and they are finding out that both their parents were killed on the same day.

Clutch and Gwen were also close growing up. It may have been a case of young love between the pair, now that she's back can they repair the damage that’s been done by the sins of Gwen’s parents? Or is it their parents? Can they rekindle those feelings, especially after King warns the whole club off his sister.

This really was a fantastic book filled with so much going on, from secrets to betrayals which span over the course of years, the reconnection and rebuilding of relationships as well as the lies and destruction of others. As far as romance goes, this one was down and dirty in the best way possible. I can’t recommend this book enough and I’am looking forward to see what’s in-store next for the Iron Outlaws MC.
