Kim Choyeop (b. 1993) holds a BA in chemistry and an MA in biochemistry from Pohang University of Science and Technology. She launched her literary career in 2017 when two of her stories, “Irretrievable” (excerpted in this issue) and “If We Can’t Go at the Speed of Light,” won the grand and runner-up prizes respectively at the 2017 Korean SF Awards. She then went on to win the Today’s Writer Award in 2019. Her debut short story collection, If We Can’t Go at the Speed of Light (Hubble, 2019), was a record-breaking bestseller in South Korea, and a Japanese translation is set to be released by Hayakawa Publishing. One of the stories from the book, “Symbiosis Theory,” was also published in Clarkesworld magazine.

好幾篇都短到無法產生什麼感覺,這短篇也太短了,喜歡最後兩三篇較長的故事和哈密瓜商人。

I'm impressed by her imagination skill. Mushroom human, a moss-like alien pet and the organism of swamp totally blew my mind.

I removed one star just because of my personal taste. (Still learning about my book preference.) I found I prefer novel to novella. I need to get attached to the characters. 😅

この表紙と題名に惹かれて借りてみた。
ゆるやかにそれぞれの物語が繋がっている、SFで短編集(繋がってないのもあるけど)。
どの作品も、じっくり考えるような、ゆったりしたSFで、「普通」ってなんだっけ、と考えさせられる。
楽しい読書時間を過ごせた。

金草葉的文字溫柔、優雅,故事也不乏細膩的觀察與有趣的點子,但《行星語書店》收錄的故事實在太短了,這些點子沒有被充分地發展與探索,讓人讀來難免產生有頭無尾之憾。這就如同作者問了許多好問題,卻沒有給出令人滿意的答案。

正如作者在序中所言,篇幅如此短小的文章不可能變成完美的小說,本次的短篇合輯確實不完美,有幾篇意義不明,但閱讀起來依然頗有趣味,不論是採取的視角,抑或是與現實世界的映照。
整體而言,是滿不錯的消遣讀物。

依然喜歡金草葉富有特色的故事設定,然本書有幾篇讀起來比較令人無感或困惑。

更像是金草叶早期的作品,很短小很短小的灵感切片,像是第二篇感觉已经是很完整的构想了,这样的切片我好不满足哦。一些温柔的关怀的角度和金草叶所有的文章都别无二致,关于植物、动物、缺陷的思考也一如既往,金草叶还是金草叶。给四星是因为这本书相对于其它基本确实男性人物更多一点,这个原则问题。继续其它她其它作品。
