Probably like a 4.5, idrk how to rate memoirs

Honestly the whole thing was kind of sad to read. it pretty much exclusively focused on his struggles with addiction and how it negatively affected so many of the relationships and opportunities in his life. and then with the end it seemed like he was in such a good place, it’s so sad to know how he died you just feel a pang in your chest. he’s so charismatic and his humor shows through in the entire book. he speaks so highly of the people in his life it’s really sweet, but bitter sweet

Love this book and learning about Matthew Perry’s life. It was a very very sad life, for someone who brought so much laughter and joy to peoples lives. It really shows you how addiction, the big terrible thing, can take over your whole life. I also loved how he was the one narrating the book, it makes it so personal and that much more sad, knowing he died shortly after this.

I feel so sad I could cry. For the first half of the book all I heard was a narcissist. I was more sympathetic during the second half. I understand the struggle of addiction a little more after reading this book and I think that’s why he wrote it.

This book broke my heart for him. He portrayed such a different person to the world than what he was. He went through so much and kept going. What a sad ending to a life filled with struggle. RIP Matthew Perry

An honest and heartbreaking memoir about his lifelong struggles with addiction. I loved that he personally narrated and was brutally honest about all he went through. Would highly recommend especially for anyone wanting to understand the mind of an addict.

Glad I read this book, but I can't say I really liked it. It was eye opening into Matthew's world of addiction that came close to taking his life.

Wow, I had no idea all the struggles Matty went through. This book really hit home due to losing a brother to addiction. Sometimes you just never know what someone is really struggling with…

I found this book so sad especially since it sounded like he had finally discovered that he was enough. Then to have his life end so tragically after the release of this book.
