Puffin Bay #2

Wild Tides

Rate this book
No bride expected to be steering a boat in her wedding dress, running away from the day she’d been planning for months.

But that was me.
I was that runaway bride.
In a boat that now had no fuel, stranded on a stretch of dangerous water, and my phone was now swimming with the fishes.

The man who rescued me lived in a lighthouse and was the strong and very silent type, who also happened to foster rescue cats. He was now part of the lifeboat crew and the opposite of the geeky boy he’d been in school. And I’d been the girl he’d secretly crushed on.

Thane didn’t want a relationship. He wanted a quiet life with no complications.
I wanted to get under another man to get over the one I’d left at the altar, then I wanted to get the rest of my life on track, back in my small-town home in Puffin Bay.

Neither of us expected the little twist that came our way.

The amount of excitement going back to puffin bay was and if I’m
Honest… the best goddam feeling. This book makes me feel like I’m part of the community, this book was just exquisite and I drink it all in one day … well technically 17 hours but who is counting? 💭😅

I knew the moment I met Fleur that she was going to be my favourite girl but Thane? 🥹🥹🥹 I want his children right now! I mean he is Scottish and I love Scottish men so much 🤤🤤

Fleur run from his wedding and that is where Thane comes in, he let her hide at his lighthouse ( YES, LIGHTHOUSE! ) but the problem is that he being into her for 17 years give or take … so after a one-night stand ( or 2) she get pregnant 🤰 and things just happen. And you guys know I’m a sucker for surprise pregnancy made right 💕💕💕

Every single chapter in this book makes me feel so happy, the level of community is never lost in this series. This book is available on the 25 of May so if you haven’t read the first one go and run 🏃‍♂️ and if you haven’t read any of Annie’s books … go and run !!!!

This book let me with so much curiosity, for what the next book is about as they have so much potential. Like the twins or Finn or Clover or … please make a 10 books series because I need to know about Caleb too !!!!! You can even make a book about Zeus and I would read it !!!!!!!

🌊Tropes to keep in mind

🌊Runaway Bride
🌊Surprise pregnancy
🌊He falls First
🌊 Small-town Romance

I already want more of this series! That teaser chapter of Lover’s Heights is not enough. Fleur was engaged to be married to a guy that all her friends called… well, nothing polite. She had been feeling that something was off for a while but as lady Diana’s sister said about her marrying Prince Charles, “It’s too late now. Your face is on the tea towels.” But on her wedding day, when someone emails her a picture of her fiancé having sex with his ex, it’s the last straw. She ditches the wedding, steals a boat and takes off. Too bad the gas is low and leaves her stranded in the straight.
Thane loves his life as the quiet lighthouse keeper as is, thank you very much. He has no room for a relationship with anyone as most women would never want to live in a lighthouse. But Fleur isn’t anyone. She’s the girl that he had a crush on in school, and when she wants him to be her rebound fling, he’s okay with it. After all, what can happen when it’s just a one off?
I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

What a beautiful friends to lovers, surprise pregnancy romance! Fleur and Thane's journey was nothing short of perfection. The compassion each of them have, the chances they take, their banter, the sweet swoon-worthy moments and the steam. I could feel the pull between them and kept hoping they could see through all their insecurities to find love with each other. I LOVED everything about this book.

Just when I think Puffin Bay did me in, I read this gem and I am so much more in love with PB. I absolutely love and adore this novel. Fleur and Thane are literally the most perfect couple for each other. Both a little jaded but never too messed up to see the beauty in what they have together.

I DEVOURED this book like a hungry hungry hippo gobbling up the balls in the game. (If you don't know this game do yourself a favor and Google it. RIGHT MEOW! Thank me later. Okay maybe just buy it and play with someone.) Goodness gracious great balls of 🔥 did this book get the loins burning with the steam, but also the swooning from the sweetness.

I don't think I could have loved Fleur more than I already had from Puffin Bay but I just couldn't stop rooting her on. I was so elated when she made some wrong decisions that were for her. I have trouble with this thing of taking on the emotions of the characters and being totally invested. It can be exhausting at times, but I loved every moment of it thoughout this book.

Thane, Thane, Thane. You burley handsome man you. Even with your solitude you are a man of many words. Words that matter more than you will ever realize. You deserve nothing but the best, and did you find it in Fleur. I couldn't help but try to picture Thane in his get up gear and boy did things get spicy 🥵🥵🥵. (🎶It's Getting Hot In Here🎶, thank you Nelly)

Once the 🌶️🌶️ kicks off at 38% you can't help but fall for the connection these two had. Not just the connection but the intimacy that was shared in so much more than a quick fling. One look and it was over for both of them. It was soooo heavy and deep for both. I couldn't get enough of these two.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment in the Puffin Bay series!!

Thank you so much to the Annie and Wildfire Marketing for the complimentary review copy. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the complimentary book.

Wild Tides by Annie Dyer, book two in the Puffin Bay series, written in first person from an alternating dual POV, is a beautiful friends to lovers, surprise pregnancy romance. This is Fleur and Thane's journey that was a long time coming. When Fleur comes to her senses, and escapes from the biggest mistake of her life, but she should have made some checks before fleeing on a boat that would run out of fuel. Then there’s Thane, the big, handsome, shy lighthouse keeper, on hand to save her. Not wanting to go home Thane offers her a room at the lighthouse for a few days, and she is not going to turn him down. Thane was such an enigmatic character, he keeps to himself, lives in a lighthouse and fosters rescue cats; there was so much more to him than he shows the world. Neither Fleur nor Thane was looking for a relationship but there is a connection that neither can ignore. One thing leads to another and Thane is finally kissing his childhood crush. The compassion they have for each other, the chances they take, their banter, the sweet swoon-worthy moments and the steam. You could feel the pull between them and kept hoping they could see through all their insecurities to find love with each other. Navigating the surprise facing them has moments that are touching and relatable.

Set off the coast of Anglesey, filled with funny moments, small town shenanigans, this friends to lovers story grabbed me, made it difficult to put down, and stayed with me after the pages were done, is a sweet, funny, sizzling and definitely worthy a read. I laughed out loud at some parts and at others could have cried. Neither have had it easy, but when you are willing to open your heart then you might be surprised at what happens. Wild Tides is a captivating tale, which I highly recommend to other readers. I am definitely looking forward to future visits to Puffin Bay and the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Book two in the Puffin Bay series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Fleur finally makes the decision not to marry her fiancé on her wedding day. Stranded after making a run for it, she gets rescued by Thane. They have known each other since they were teens and the quiet lightkeeper saves the day.
I loved Fleur's resolution to move forward with her life. Thane finally gets the opportunity to spend time with Fleur and he takes it. He is a truly good man. I adored him. He is quiet with a lot going on under the surface. Fleur's bubbliness is the perfect counterpoint to him. I love the heat between them, but even more I love their quiet friendship. I appreciate that they quickly learn to communicate their feelings to each other. Navigating the surprise facing them has moments that are touching and relatable. This was a steamy low angst read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Puffin Bay is a quirky small town and I wish I could visit and hang out with the gang. The author has also kindly hinted at future book couples within this book. I am absolutely excited to go back to Puffin Bay for more.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

Wild Tides was amazingly good! Thane and Fleur are the perfect grumpy/sunshine couple.

Fleur finds out on her wedding day her fiancé has been cheating on her. Not willing to go through with the wedding she high jack's a boat and takes off. Unfortunately she gets stuck with no gas. Along comes Thane to rescue her. Thane has always had a thing for Fleur since school days so when he finally gets the chance to have a one night (more like three night) stand with her he jumps at the chance. Shortly there after they get quite a surprise, more like quite a few surprises one after another. Thane has never wanted a relationship and Fleur has always wanted a family. Will Thane change his mind on relationships or are they doomed never to be?

Thane is like the perfect broody, mysterious, hot, grump. Fleur really brings out the life in him finally able to see him smile.

I completely did not want to leave the Puffin Bay world and can't wait to go back. 100% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thane is the hot, silent, and broody type hiding all those skills he's developed over the years. Once he shows exactly how "experienced" he now is whooo. The steam goes up to 100. 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Will there ever be a time where I am not obsessed with Annie Dyer's writing? I hope not. Wild Tides is a beautiful story. I love that this series is set in Wales, as it's a country I've always wanted to visit. I loved how descriptive of the land and the town Annie Dyer gets, it's unlike anything I've ever written in terms of scenery. Her scene descriptions are one of the reasons many of her books have stuck with me for years.

I also love the characters, Thane and Fleur are a great example of grumpy/sunshine. I love Thane and his personality with how he rarely speaks but always speaks to Fleur. Their high school crushes on each other really adds to the story, especially after reading Puffin Bay and seeing Fleur and her ex's relationship.

I love the accidental pregnancy story line, and this book handled the third act so differently by not having the conflict be about pregnancy or a third-act break up. Fleur and Thane are so fun together, I love the spicy scenes, I loved their communication, and most of all I loved all their conversations about each other to the other characters. It really added to the story and made all the side characters feel more relevant to the story!

I can't wait to read the next book!

This is Fleur’s story, and it is so much fun! It starts where Amelie’s book ends and has many twists and turns. It’s funny and interesting and you feel like you want to keep reading to get to the end, but at the same time you don’t want it to end! The book brings back Puffin Bay’s community and introduces a new, very interesting one. I loved this story and have to say that Annie Dyer never disappoints. It seems she has endless imagination to make her stories get more awesome each time!

Annie Dyer’s mythical town couldn’t feel more realistic. The story of Thane and Fleur is such a great addition to this series. I loved Thane who is the strong silent type with a hero’s heart. Fleur was a character that I could relate to and instantly took a liking to. As she was checking off her life to do list she lost herself but fortunately righted the situation before making a big mistake. I’m loving this series!

I want to visit Puffin Bay

Author, Annie Dyer has created such a charming village in Puffin Bay. The people truly care about each other and help each other out when needed.

When a run away bride’s stolen boat runs out of gas, Theran immediately goes to rescue her, not knowing it is his long-time crush, Fleur. The relationship that builds from that act is really amazing to read about.

Thane is a hard working boatman who is quiet but devastatingly handsome. Thane also does not do relationships. Fleur is beautiful, outgoing and wants nothing more than to be a mother.

The entire village gets involved in this book on several occasions to help each other and the tourists out. I’m looking forward to future books in this series as there are several interesting citizens that I would like to know more about.

Thane was the quiet almost reclusive man in Puffin Bay, he lived in the lighthouse and quietly took care of others. Flues was running from the man she was meant to marry, and to keep her safe from not only him, but his family, Thane lets her stay with him at his lighthouse. One thing leads to another and Thane is finally kissing his childhood crush. I loved how adult Thane was during the surprise pregnancy, how he immediately took responsibility but also said he needed a few hours to digest it all. This small town is winning my heart more and more with each book I read!

Annie is one of my favourite authors and I was super excited to dive into the read as it has one of my favourite trope and just as expected I loved every moment of the read. Annie once again took me on an emotional ride and by the end left me feeling content yet craving for more.

I have been in love with both Thane and Fleur since the previous book and was curious to know there history and how they end up together. I loved getting to know them both and especially mysterious Thane. Knowing there past made it easier to understand what made them who they are. There chemistry is smoking hot.

I loved the bond they share even before finding the surprise. It was sweet how there relationship develope and how well Thane takes the news. How supportive every person in Puffin Bay is made me love this small town even more. There were moments were my heart was in my throat and I was worried sick.

Everything that was happening with Gully cracked me up. Now I am excited for the next book knowing what to expect. The Holland brothers have me counting days for there books. Thanks to Annie and Wildfire Marketing for the advanced copy of this amazing read.

Wild Tides is book 2 in the Puffin Bay Series.

Fleur, the FMC, runs or sails away from her cheating ex-fiance on her wedding day no less and is rescued by the reclusive lighthouse keeper, Thane. Thane has always had a crush on Fleur and a mutual attraction, and friendship  grows as he allows her to stay with him to avoid fallout from canceling her wedding. The relationship continues to grow, and a surprise pregnancy occurs.  This is a low angst sweet romance with great characters and a well thought out storyline.
As always Annie Dyer is able to make you feel as though you want to be a part of the place she is writing about, Puffin Bay sounds amazing and the characters are folks you want to be friends with.  This is a wonderful continuation of this series, and I am already looking forward to the next book.

I was looking forward to this book after reading Roman and Amelia’s story.

What happens between a runaway bride on a broken down boat and a shy quiet lighthouse keeper who saves her? Well, this book will fill you in!

Finally Fleur has come to senses, and escapes from the biggest mistake of her life, but she should have made some checks before fleeing on the boat! Worry not, Thane, the big, handsome lighthouse keeper is on hand to save her. Not wanting to go home Thane offers her a room at the lighthouse for a few days, and she is not going to turn him down.

What follows is attraction, release and a few surprises, but can the two deal with all that happens or will it ruin them both?

A great book, one I couldn’t put down.

Wild Tides
Puffin Bay
Annie Dyer

“Wedding dresses weren’t designed to be worn in motorboats. …
That fishtail was now meeting the cousins it was named for as it trailed into the sea, along with my pride, hopes and immediate dreams.”
Fleur an interior designer decided the runaway bride move was her only option. She felt trapped by expectations but couldn’t go through with marrying an abundant cheater.
Thane Alister, mysterious and shy, a lighthouse keeper with James Bond vibes. He’s had a crush on Fleur since he was 14 and she joined their island school. Of course he was the one to rescue the missing bride.
Set in the stunning and wild Anglesey coastline this second Puffin Bay adventure is a gorgeous read.
A small town romance with a few surprises. Ms Dyer’s characters make these books. I didn’t want to read the epilogue simply because I wasn’t ready to leave the Puffin Bay locals behind.
This book is the second in a spin-off series set in Northern Wales, it can however be read as a stand-alone novel with hea. I received an arc of this book.

This second book in the Puffin Bay series centres on Fleur, who appears in the first book as a side character determined to go through with her wedding. We very swiftly find out that she’s changed her mind at the last minute and escaped on a handy boat, a decision that alters the course of her life.

I am thoroughly enjoying these books, which have at their heart a love story but also immerse the reader in the life of a whole community. There’s plenty going on that will doubtless be explored in future instalments. Fleur is a practical, strong woman well aware of her faults, and she develops a relationship with quiet Thane that is blessedly free of contrived misunderstandings and third-act breakups. Realistic drama and relatable characters in a beautifully realised setting… what’s not to love?

Thanks to the author for the advance review copy. All opinions are my own.

4 Star review Wild Tides (Puffin Bay #2) by Annie Dyer
Having met Fleur in the previous book, I was excited to see what Ms. Dyer had in story for her. I never expected that she would become a runaway bride. Escaping in a boat that runs out of fuel, she is rescued by Thane.
Thane was such an enigmatic character, he keeps to himself, lives in a lighthouse and fosters rescue cats. There was something about him that I was drawn to. There was so much more to him than he shows the world.
Neither Fleur nor Thane were looking for a relationship but there is a connection that neither can ignore. Could these two find love and lasting happiness? One click and find out.

3.5/3.75 ⭐️

Wild Tides maybe my first read by new to me author Annie Dyer. However it is the second Standalone in her Puffin Bay series.
This Surprise Pregnancy Romance follows the lives of Fleur Bennett and Thane Allister through the telling of their dual POVs.

This story was completely unexpected, yet reeled me in, especially with how strong of a beginning it had. Ultimately luring me in even more.
When it came to the character driven plot, Annie delivered by giving individual focus to both Fleur and Thane.
Having their independent POV chapters not only allowed us to get to know them separately, but allowed us to see the growth of their characters throughout when focusing on their own paths. Seeing as they both had their own journeys that entailed a lot to move through in discovering who they were, where they were going and what they wanted from life.
All whilst juggling the path they ventured on together, considering their budding relation that was being explored simultaneously, which eventually led to some steamy fire.

Annie made it an enjoyable read to me when it came to getting to know both Fleur and Thane.
Especially since there was a lot to learn and explore within their lives, taking you through their ups and downs, highs and lows.
Even more so when they started to come together, bringing in the emotions. Particularly in Fleur’s case given all that she was going through. Allowing for a good exploration of many different feelings and emotions to ride through with the characters themselves.

Surprisingly Wild Tides took me longer than expected to read through and finish, something that is a very rare occurrence for me.
However given my qualms, unfortunately it just couldn’t be helped.
Firstly the story did feel long winded with how wordy it could be at times, particularly from the detailed descriptions. Whilst it is not necessarily a bad thing, in this case it was just too much for me, ultimately causing my attention to wane in those moments.

My other issue was the incorporation of secondary characters, although it’s usually enjoyable to see the inclusion with establishing their part and how they connect in the story.
In this particular case, it felt like they did overshadow Fleur and Thane at times, at least to me. Especially given how much of a spotlight was focused on them with having their pieces of their story being brought forth, whilst pushing Fleur and Thane's back.
Which IMO ultimately took away the focus that was needed to be on Fleur and Thane’s relationship, since there wasn’t as much build up or progression showcased in that perspective.

There was also the case of the way the story finished in being so abrupt with not having the ending that you would come to expect.
Due to how it just unexpectedly ended, it took me a minute to realise the story was over.
However the inclusion of the epilogue did save the initial ending, since it gave the story the HEA that was missing IMO.

With Wild Tides being my first ever read from the author Annie Dyer, she still did a good job in writing a sweet yet emotional story that still ended up being enjoyable, even despite my objections.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is Fleur's story, she is Amalie's best friend, and we meet both of them in the first book called Puffin Bay. In this book Fleur is a runaway bride, and Thane is her savior. They have always known each other for years as acquaintances but after he saves her, they start to get to know each other.
Fleur and Thane are both 32 at the start of this book. They have known each other since she was 13 when she moved to the island to live with her grandmother. Currently she is a home decorator and Thane gives boat tours and rents cottages to tourists and runs and lives at the Lighthouse.

This is a slow burn romance and not really a one night stand but more like a few nights fling. Thane is very hot and sexy and Fleur starts to see how hot, sweet and broody he is. If you love the quiet, broody but sexy type you will adore Thane, he is really a great guy and he is so into Fleur though he tries to hide it.

I loved the addition of their friends in this story, and I really enjoyed getting to know Fleur and Thane but also seeing how Amelie, Romeo and Caleb are doing. Plus, all the characters that I hope will have books as well. We also meet a new character, Ruby and let's say she adds a lot to the story and is connected to Thane.

One of Fleur's neighbors is a retired nurse named Doreen and I totally adored her. The scenes she was in, well she stole those scenes away from the main characters. I totally loved her so much. She sort of becomes a mother to Fleur and I adored her so much.

I enjoyed this story a lot, but it was also different than I expected. It is a slow burn romance and at times I felt the story moved too slowly for my liking, but I also think that was because the story takes place on an island of sorts, so life is more relaxed and a slower pace. I loved every character in this story and cannot wait to read Finn's story next.

4.5 stars

I loved this story. It was obvious from book one that Fleur was planning on going through with a marriage she wasn’t sure about so I wasn’t surprised to find her stealing a boat and making a getaway in her wedding dress. Lucky for her Thane got word someone was stranded and went to help giving him the opportunity to step up and show her how a man should really treat a woman.

Thane is a brooding somewhat grumpy man or at least he puts off that image, but he’s really very sweet and caring and getting to care for Fleur who he has liked from afar since high school was the stuff dreams are made of. I loved how easy their friendship formed, how much they loved spending time together just chatting and enjoying each other’s company, and when they do get physical…whew, dang it’s always the quiet ones.

Thane was adamant about not wanting a relationship, loving his life the way it was, but the more time he spends with Fleur he began to wonder what if and Fleur realized very quickly that not getting married was the right choice. There was a bit of a twist for them, but through it all we only saw their relationship become stronger.

So why not 5 stars? Well, the mystery of the person who sent Fleur the pictures was never answered and I truly HATE loose ends and that was a big one IMHO. Secondly, I felt like the ending was rushed especially a big event, but all in all I enjoyed this book very much.

Sweet, smart, and sexy; Wild Tides was a delight to read and a perfect book for summer reading!

Fleur finally plucked up the courage to drop her odious fiance. Sue it was the day of the wedding but when another mysterious incriminating picture drops onto her phone she can no longer hide her head in the sand.

So, as any sane, sensible, runaway bride would do she steals a boat! But running out of fuel in the middle of the Menai wasn't part of her escape plan. Thankfully Thane is on hand to rescue her from her biggest nightmare. He also offers her a place to hide out from all the wedding guests and drama from the wedding that never was. A lighthouse is just like a fortress as far as Fleur cares!

Thane, like Fleur, is also a transplant to Anglesey. He's also had a bit of a thing for Fleur for about, oh a decade or two! He's swooped in like a knight in shining armour. But can he make her see that he's also the man of her dreams?

A perfect mix of romance, humour and charm. I know the area of North Wales quite well so I just have Puffin Bay pop into my head fully formed. The townfolk are nosy but kind, funny, weird and downright odd at times. I love the clamouring personalities and the need to bet on just about anything!

It was also refreshing that there was no 3rd act break up for Fleur and Thane. All the dram was external to them and it was them against the world really from the outset. Feel good vibes, small town setting and a couple with imperfections and problems like the rest of us.

Wild Tides - Puffin Bay #2 - Review

Couple: Flour & Thane

Author: Annie Dyer

Tropes: runaway bride, found family, small town, coastal romance, surprise pregnancy

Review: A witty romance featuring a run away bride and a lighthouse caretaker. This is a dual POV set in the world of Puffin Bay and is the second book in the series.

The book starts after Fleur left her fiancé at the alter. We learn that she found him cheating on her and called it quits before legally tying herself to him. I loved Fleur’s character personally. While in book 1 she is a little flighty, in this book she really came to life. I enjoyed how she was with Thane as well.

Thane on the other hand feels like he is never good enough for Fleur. I enjoyed how the author spends time developing his character and makes him be the steadfast one eventually. I also thought Thane was the perfect calm to Fleur’s chaos.

The book is a little fast pace yet slow burn with tons of spice. These two are two sides of a coin and appear to have nothing but everything figured out all at once. The surprise pregnancy trope was done really well in this book and I enjoyed how we saw the prior couple and the secondary characters really route for Fleur and Thane.

This is a fun and quick read!

Wild Tides is the second book in the Puffin Bay series, but it can be read as a standalone.
It starts off from where Puffin Bay left off, with Fleur just about to marry a guy no one approved of.

Ultimately, Fleur decides not to go through with the wedding. Her escape from the wedding doesn’t go as planned because the boat she had taken ends up running out of fuel. She is rescued by the man who lives in the lighthouse.

That man was Thane. A man of few words. He’s quiet and lives as a recluse. But, he has a kind soul. Not only does he save Fleur, but he had also rescued a cat and takes care of her and her kittens.

Fleur and Thane had already known each other from their teenage years, and Thane had had a crush on her back then. Being that he was always a bit shy, he never acted on his feelings. Now, they’re both older, and Thane admits his feelings for Fleur. They have a one night stand which leads to an accidental pregnancy, but they both handled it well.

This was a cute friends to lovers story. Fleur and Thane had a great connection and communication. I loved returning to the small town of Puffin Bay and seeing all the side characters. They’re just so fun and the book ends with a little mystery about the next couple, so I can’t wait to read it.

I absolutely love small coastal towns and I always link that to vacations and summer. And the Puffin Bay Series by Annie Dyer provides exactly that atmosphere and I love it.

The first book in this series, Puffin Bay, was an opposite attracts romance with the bar owner and an investor who comes to town. I already liked this book, but the second book, Wild Tides, just blew me away. This is Fleur and Thane‘s story.

Fleur is in a lackluster relationship and on her wedding day she learns that her fiancée cheated on her, so she becomes a runaway bride and takes the nearest boat to get away. She ends up stranding and Thane finds her.

Thane is a recluse who lives in a lighthouse and coddles up stray cats. He is just such an amazing person, and you can only love him, and he is a new bookboyfriend. The more you learn about him, the more you fall in love, and he has so many layers to him. My favorite part was how he treated and loved Fleur.

Fleur and Thane get cozy in the lighthouse, and I just adored that. This close proximity situation provides the perfect setting to fall in love and there is so much more to their story, and I loved every page of it. This romance is just wholesome, and I’m obsessed.

If you like It Happened One Summer or Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey, you need to check out the Puffin Bay Series.

I think this series is going to be as good as the Severton one by the same author.

This is book 2 and I recommend reading book 1 first as side characters reappear.

Fleur, who was a side character in book 1, runs away from her obnoxious fiancé minutes before their wedding should have started. She steals a little boat in her desperation to get home to Anglesey Island. Unfortunately she doesn’t check the fuel level first and finds herself stranded in the dangerous waters of the Menai Straights.

Thane is Anglesey’s lighthouse keeper. He is shocked to see a bride, still in her gown, on a broken down boat. He rescues her, even more surprised to discover it is someone he knows. Thane offers Fleur a safe haven in the lighthouse so the groom can’t find her. Neither of them believe in love anymore.

The story is told from both points of view in separate chapters. I liked this as I got to know each character better.

This author creates communities in her books and writes wonderfully detailed descriptions so you can easily picture everything from the landscape to the quirky side characters.

This series reminds me of the Severton series by this author. If you haven’t read it yet and you are enjoying this series, you should have a look at it.

Wild Tides by Annie Dyer is the second book in the Puffin Bay series, and it is SWOONWORTHY! I am smitten, smitten I tell you, with these two lovebirds and their story!

Fleur and Thane are a sheer delight!

Fleur is driven and sweet and just wants to love and be loved for who she is, needing to learn to accept all facets of herself, because she is wonderful just how she is.

Thrane is all tall and dark and handsome and mysterious, a man of few words, and stubborn as all get out, and completely smitten with a woman he's had a thing for forever, even when he fights the pull.

Annie excels at creating characters you want to meet, you want to be friends with, you want to fall in love with, you want to be loved by. With Wild Tides, we get fantastic doses of secondary characters that we always love to see more of, and all of it is wrapped around Fleur and Thane finding their HEA!

P. S. Adored more of Amelie! And Clover is a hoot! And Ruby, I am intrigued and charmed!

P. P. S. Still waiting to arrange my travel to Puffin Bay, but I know I'll love it!

P. P. P. S. I really fancy fish and chips now...

I absolutely loved this novel. Fleur and Thane are perfect for one other. We already loved Fleur from Puffin Bay and we were so excited to read her story.

In book one/two we were rooting for her to find her happily ever after and praying for her to do the right thing and not settle but, to find what truly made her happy.

Thane was the silent bruting and grumpy man who has had a thing/crush on Fleur for many years so we were so glad he got his chance and found his runaway bride. This couple had beautiful chemistry together. They got on together so beautifully. We loved their chats with one another they seemed so easy and comfortable together. The main and side characters were just awesome and we loved them all.

The Puffin Bay small-town setting is one the reader absolutely loves. When reading the story of this couple we can just imagine/picturing ourselves being right there with them. Loved the steamy and hot and sexy scenes. Their chemistry was awesome. Loved the bond they developed between them.

Overall this was a fun and sexy read that we could not put down. The author gave us everything we love in a story and we loved getting some surprises even more. Just loved it!
