I was expecting this book to be down to earth stories of average people finding their calling. 75% of the stories were relatively or very well off people who had the means to change up their lives without much more than some mild financial disturbance along the journey. For those with average to below average incomes looking for guidance on how to shake up our lives and find some meaning, this book falls short in a big way- if anything it is quite discouraging.

oh, yummy. i got the pleasure of reviewing this book prior to release. i was inspired. mary beth has a gentle yet firm way of drawing out dreams and the courage to put one's shoulder in to them. here's what i said, " don't wait for the second half of your life to reach this book. if you are yearning for a more significant endeavor or a more meaningful life. mary beth inspires you to look in all the right places and start making a difference in the world, at any age. throw away that stash of black balloons and party favors - when anyone you know turns fifty, this books is the way to celebrate."

Not what I had expected. I was looking for more concrete information and this book is just brief stories about how other people started something different in their lives - ran marathons, changed professions, etc. The description made the book seem like it would give some advice about how to get into a career helping others. The stories were pretty fluffy.

Great idea, but poorly executed. Instead of being inspirational, this book was boring. Fortunately, I bought it used, so I was only out $7.
