"Weaving is essentially a simple matter, requiring no special talents or high degree of manual skill for its accomplishment. If it seems complicated at first, this is only because there are so many ways to weave."

Julia Hendon
A reprint of an important work on hand weaving. Atwater describes a number of kinds of weave structures with many diagrams and photographs. Some are four shaft patterns, others eight or more. Atwater gives good explanations of what distinguishes the different types (summer and winter, Leno, etc.). The weaving drafts are useable although the reprinted edition's reproductions are a bit fuzzy.
