"Our science books can't keep up with all the new discoveries!" If a child reading this learns one (academic) thing from the series (besides the lessons about being a good friend etc.), I hope s/he learns this. Also, I hope everyone gets a chance to look at the moon through a telescope at least once in their lives.

I do like this series, and have decided to read a bunch of 'em, since my library has them and they are short. I'm reserving the fourth star for the most special ones, but even the three star ones are worthwhile.

In Horrible Harry Goes to the Moon by Suzy Kline, Harry and his friends learn about astronomy, especially the moon, and hold a bake sale to make their trip to the moon possible.

An argument over who gets to sit on the moon patterned couch starts a class-wide research project on the moon. The students learn about the lower gravity on the moon by doing a hopping experiment in front of the blackboard. Harry decides the class needs to go to the moon. Since getting a field trip in a rocket isn't possible, he convinces the class to hold a bake sale to purchase a used telescope. To celebrate their success, the children host a moon viewing party. The book introduces students to recent research into there being water (in the form of ice) on the moon. It also has information on the geography of the lunar landscape and what can be seen through a telescope.

I originally chose this book for my astronomy materials project. While a little dated here and there, it still holds up. It's an entertaining introduction to basic astronomy.

I used to love reading about space and such when I was in third grade. I think it's adorable how the Horrible Harry series tells you about different things that could intrigue you. Heck, I'm an adult and sometimes it makes me want to read more about what these kids are learning.

I loved how Harry took everyone to the moon, I think Harry is a pretty cool guy and a kind friend, there's nothing horrible about him at all.

Part of a large series of fun stories following the antics of Doug, Harry and their friends through 2nd and 3rd grades. Excellent to listen to (available on Hoopla), and usually around 30-45 min, these are enjoyable for kids and adults alike. I highly recommend for your next car ride!

This moon themed story was cute. It was unfortunate that Mary was being annoying the entire time.

This is the thirteenth book in the Horrible Harry series by Suzy Kline and Frank Remkiewicz.

We've already read several of these stories (out of order) and found them to be funny, short, and entertaining. So we decided to read as many as we could find at our local library.

I love that Harry and his classmates get excited about learning about the moon. It makes us want to break out our old telescope. It's a fun story to read aloud and we enjoyed reading it together.

The Eight-Year-Old’s latest discovery in the Horrible Harry franchise has Horrible Harry using a telescope purchase to launch an expedition to the moon. In true imaginative style, the illustrations show Harry in a glass-dome topped space suit. Fortunately, The Eight-Year-Old knows that’s artistic, not realistic, but in case your little one needs a refresher, no, all astronauts don’t fly in space with just their helmets on.

Harry and his classmates are studying the moon. They have a bake sale to earn money for a telescope so that they can have a moonwatch. The night of the moonwatch ends up being loads of fun. This was the first Horrible Harry book I've read, my daughter checked it out from the library. I didn't find it very funny, but it was a bit educational.

This is a strong addition to the series, with recognizable characters and an accessible format. Expressive pen-and-ink illustrations accompany the text... Horn Book

While some of Kline's characters are beginning to seem a little flat, her stories continue to succeed at reflecting everyday life in the classroom... School Library Journal

Did not like it. I was disappointed. I was hoping it would be more like Miss Pickerel Goes to the Moon, or The Magic School Bus. I had checked out out three Horrible Harry books, but I'm taking them all back without reading the other two.

I was hoping for an imaginative sort of fantasy adventure, but it was more like an ordinary day in an ordinary classroom.

I read the first ones almost 20 years ago when I was an elementary school teacher. Really doesn't matter what I think. The kids liked them.

Now, I'm reading them to my son. :) I liked the earlier ones better.

I really loved how the kids came to learn about the moon. Their teacher makes me wish I could be equally creative in getting the point across to my own kids when I teach them. A really fun read!

I absolutely love this series! Suzy Kline does a great job of appealing to her audience through making the topics easily relatable for students in elementary school. The fun and exaggerated adventures leave the reader wondering just what Harry is going to do next.
