Meet Me #4

Meet Me at the Wedding

Rate this book
Reuniting her “awesome foursome” of friends from Meet Me in London , bestselling celebrity author Georgia Toffolo ’s charming enemies-to-lovers rom-com is an undeniably tart and sweet treat.

Lily Atwell loves living in Hawke’s Cove on the picturesque Devon coast, and planning her best friend’s wedding at the Hawkesbury estate is the icing on the cake. But when the estate’s owner dies, and his son cancels all bookings, Lily must face Henry Hawkesbury—the guy she hasn’t seen since that one fateful night ten years ago that changed her life for the worse. That changed her life forever.

Henry wants nothing more than to return to Hawke’s Cove, sell his estranged late father’s estate, and put all the history and bad memories to rest. He certainly does not want to host a wedding, or face Lily, who gets on with everyone—except him.

But when Henry needs Lily’s help to sell the property, she will provide it only on the condition that the wedding can go ahead as planned. Working together under less-than-amicable conditions means both must face their past and, in doing so, embrace their future. But can two people afraid of love acknowledge what they have always wanted?

This is the fourth (and final…) book of the ‘Meet Me’ series by Georgia Toffolo and I absolutely LOVED IT. This book follows Lily as she is planning her friend Victoria’s wedding at Hawkesbury Estate. Unfortunately the own of the estate dies and it’s passed onto his son Henry, who cancels all events and sends the staff home. Lily is hellbent on making sure the wedding goes ahead at the beautiful location before Victoria hears about the cancellation so she swallows her pride and work with Henry to get the estate back on track, but more importantly, make sure the hen party and wedding go off without a hitch.

If you’ve read the other books in the series you’ll know the four friends (a book for each friend) have their own issues they work on coming to terms with, but this book it was interesting to see how Henry deals with the accident that affected those four friends and his family.

This was the perfect finale and now I’ll go cry that this series is over because it’s just not right and I wanted this to continue for the next 50 years.

Thank you Mills and Boon for the e-arc!

The fourth book in the ‘Meet me’ series, it’s been so great to read the series, I feel like I’ve been on the journey with each of the girls. What a lovely friendship group they are. I would say they can be read as standalone but if you have the opportunity to read them all then I would say read them in order to get a nice flow of the story.

I really loved reading about Lily and Henry in Meet me at the Wedding. Whilst Lily is planning her best friends wedding, you still get to really know both Lily and Henry. They were both so likeable and it was great to read the developments between them both.

A great romance read with the addition of friendship. It’s wonderful to read about a group of friends who are so close and share everything together. A lovely series to read.

Meet me in London remains my favourite book in the series. I loved them all and the characters and will recommend them to anyone who loves romantic comedies with great characters and world build.

Lily is a great friend and throughout the previous books, we get to know a bit of her past and life. Now she takes the main stage in Meet me at the wedding.

After being left at the altar, she's finding hard to get back on track, especially to trust any new or old male friend. Being a restaurant owner in a beautiful setting, she gets to interact with many people, and one from her past is back in town.

A story about friendship and a sweet romance that evolved from an enemy to friends and lovers in the end. This is a perfect combination for any romantic lover.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

Two and a half stars.

Lily grew up in a small town in Cornwall and it was where she returned to lick her wounds after her fiancé stole her savings and ran away. There she's lived peacefully, started her own restaurant and helped the owner of the nearby Hawkesbury Estate to build his hotel and vineyard into the successful business it is today. However, when he dies unexpectedly his estranged son Henry returns determined to sell the estate.

Henry and his father fell out and hadn't spoken for a decade, Cornwall is nothing but regret and bad memories for him now, he can't bear to have anyone near him, judging him and talking behind his back so he's let all the staff go and cancelled all the hotel bookings, including the wedding of Lily's friend Victoria, a wedding that Lily has been planning for months.

Ten years ago Lily and her three friends were involved in a terrible car crash, involving Henry and another classmate called Claudia, on their way to the end of school dance. Each of them bear scars from that night whether physical or mental. Lily's three friends have found love, despite the events of that night, but Lily has remained single since her fiancé's betrayal.

At first Lily intends to try to sweet talk Henry into allowing Victoria's wedding to continue, especially since his father had fully intended it to take place on the Estate, but when they meet she is so incensed that she lays into him and calls him names. They part on bad terms, until Henry realises he needs Lily to host an Estate tour and wine tasting for a potential buyer and his wife. In return, Henry has to promise to host Victoria's wedding.

As Henry and Lily work towards Victoria's wedding their attraction grows stronger, but how can they be a couple when he can't bear to stay and she can't imagine leaving?

This is the fourth book in a series and hoo boy does it show, maybe if I had read the other books I would have enjoyed this more but there felt like an awful lot of backstory about the three other women and their HEAs which frankly meant nothing to me. This just felt long and sloooow, Henry is attracted to Lily but he doesn't feel he deserves a woman like her, Lily can't let herself care for yet another man who could leave her. There's a disaster with the wedding, they almost kiss, Henry is attracted to Lily but he doesn't feel he deserves a woman like her, Lily can't let herself care for yet another man who could leave her. Rinse and repeat.

Sorry, this just wasn't for me, way too many superfluous characters it was like Avengers Endgame all over again!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

Such a fabulous end to what has been a really wonderful series.

I love the way everything was resolved by the end, and that last sentence was perfection and had me smiling!

But before that was have Lily's story at long last, and I loved everything about it, and her interactions with Henry were fabulous.

I mean you know from the start, what the likely outcome will be, but the journey getting there, plus all the wedding plans for V and Oliver (from the first book) are just things to gladden the heart. And seeing all four of the friends back home in Hawke's Cove is just a delight to see.

Though nothing is smooth sailing and there were plenty of clashes and also rather emotional moments. Plus the book starts with the biggest amount of the accident that we have seen between the four books, from 10 years ago, where things changed for all four of the friends, and it also changed Henry's life that night too.

I loved how the characters voices felt consistent over the series, which just shows what a great job the authors managed to do, while putting this series together.

This is Mills and Boon and escapist romance at it's finest and I have unashamedly loved every single second of all four of these books!

Thank you to Mills and Boon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Running to read the other books in this series because I loved this one! I loved the character development and the author’s writing style! This was overall such a cute read, I think I would have liked it even more if I had read the other books first! It was also one of those books that sort of grabs you right from the beginning (which I personally love). Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for an advanced copy! ♥️

A thrilling conclusion to this brilliant series and it does not disappoint. Lily's turn is preparing for V's wedding and there is so much action from there. I love the female friendships between these women and the love is genuine and real. A perfect ending to these stories. And the epilogue- yes!

This book starts off with a recount of the accident that we hear in reference throughout the four books, this was definitely the most intense and thorough telling of it and is quite a tough chapter. Maybe more so as it feels like you know all of the girls by this point…

We have spent time with V, Malie and Zoe in the previous 3 books and now it is Lily’s turn to be in the spotlight, in this she is pretty much hosting THE wedding of the year and we get to see all four girls and their respective partners together back in Hawkes Cove.

I absolutely loved this book and think it just piped Meet Me in London to the top spot for me. There is just so much content in this and so many heartfelt moments that I couldn’t help but love it. I also really warmed to both Henry and Lily and the way that they were able to help each other to take those vital steps forward with their lives.

Maybe it was the common references to food that also peaked my interest - I mean, I so want an almond croissant right now, let alone some of the meals that Lily cooks up at the restaurant 🤤🤤

Whatever reason, I would highly recommend this book and the whole series. I had book 1 on my shelf for too long before I picked it up and then was hooked and just knew I had to read the others as well, there really is something for everyone in these books and the four girls are so lovely. I’m not quite sure if there’s going to be another series quite like this and part of me is gutted that there won’t be anymore but the epilogue in this has filled so many questions and I absolutely loved it 🥰 comfort in the pages right there!!

As the fourth instalment of the ‘Meet Me…’ this one follows Lily planning her best friend’s wedding, which will take place at the fancy Hawkesbury estate in the place they grew up. But when the estate’s owner dies, and his son cancels the wedding, Lily must face Henry Hawkesbury – a man she hasn’t seen since that fateful night ten years ago…

When Henry needs Lily’s help, she will only agrees to come to his aid if the wedding can go ahead. Working together means both must face their pasts, and in doing so might just realise something about their future along the way 👀

This was a lovely ready and a very fitting ending to the series that follows a group of four women who were each impacted by an accident over a decade ago. It’s a fun and cutesie romance read without being overtly sickly sweet and there’s a heavy focus on female friendship and being there for another

Filled with clashes and emotional moments, plus so many mouth watering descriptions of food that Lily was cooking up in the kitchen, this was perfect escapism reading!

3.5 stars rounded down!

I initially did not realize this was the fourth book in a series, but don't think you had read the first three to be able to enjoy this one. Although, I do think I would have liked it more if I had some of the additional context/character building from the previous books! Some parts of the plot referred to things that I felt out of the loop on, though not soooo out of the loop that I couldn't follow.

The story/plot was a good concept, but failed in a few spots for me! The FMC and MMC are childhood friends, he essentially disappears for several years, comes back to town, and romance ensues.

Overall, a nice quick read, though not one that had me kicking my feet and giggling. Middle of the road!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital arc in exchange for my honest review!

This was the perfect end to the Meet me series that features four best friends whose lives were irrevocably changed after one terrible car accident. This final installment sees Lily forced to work with estate owner Henry when the owner dies and Henry cancels all event bookings.

The catch is Henry needs Lily to help him find a buyer and Lily will only agree if he allows her best friend's wedding to go ahead as planned. Full of great enemies to lovers banter and chemistry, this was a swoony British romcom about moving on from the past and learning to forgive yourself.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review. Recommended for fans of Mhairi McFarlane and Beth O'Leary. Features side characters with different disabilities (wheel chair user, infertility).

A perfectly good romance novel. Nothing mind blowing. Went in expecting a cute, fun romance and that’s exactly what I got. Characters slightly annoying in their upper class-ness, but overall a fun time!

Didn't expect this book to be so heavy?? I though it would be a silly little romcom but instead it put me in my feels multiple times... the author deals with grief and healing with a lot of care.

4.5 rounded up.

This was such a great final instalment in this wonderful series! I absolutely loved this story and how it tied up any lose ends from the previous books and brought the four friends together again. Lily was such a great character and I found her story really emotional. She was strong, funny and so great at her job. I really liked watching her and Henry build a connection and start to trust each other and fall for each other.
I loved seeing Henry rebuild his relationships with those in Hawke’s Cove and I thought this was so moving. He was brilliant too and I really loved him! He was so kind and caring towards Lily and their bond was so lovely to read about. I definitely recommend this one!

This book was the fourth in a series, which I wasn’t previously aware of when I requested this ARC. While I don’t think it was necessary to read the first 3 in order to understand this one, I do think it may have made this one more enjoyable to be better connected to the characters and their background.

This book wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t anything special for me. It was a typical romance, but a bit more cheesy than I typically enjoy.

I still plan on going back and reading the first book in the series because I’ve heard that one is pretty good.

This is the 4th book in the 'Meet me' series by Georgia Toffolo and it did not disappoint.
I was dubious about reading this series of books as I have never really been that interest in celebrity books, but from the first book I was hooked, and i felt they just got better and better the more you read and the more you got to know each character, as each book was dedicated to one of the 4 friends.
Absolutely great book, that was very easy to read - I actually devoured this in 24 hours which is really good for me.
Would highly recommend

such a lovely and wholesome book & a perfect little summer read. I didn’t realise this was actually part of a series when I picked it up, however, I felt I was still able to easily connect to it and enjoy the book as if it was a standalone, there’s nothing mind blowing about this novel but it is a smooth and perfect romance novel. However, I’ve definetely outgrown the nice & ditsy romance books even if there is a slight enemies to lovers theme going on - give me my dark academia and fae or Colleen hoover & I’ll be giving 10/10 ratings x

Disclaimer, I do love romance. This was just very boring, very tedious, and lacking in any tension or real conflict. I felt like Lily and Henry became extremely sappy extremely quickly, and it was a little jarring. I kept waiting for something bad to happen, some third act climax, but it was just so flat.

This is mostly based on the fact that I listened to the audiobook. I think I would have liked it a lot more if I’d read the book. The audio felt like someone was literally reading the book. No voice changes for different characters and when all the women were together, I was so confused. I read the first in the series a couple years ago and liked it, so this is being blames solely on the audio.

so bad

Thought the books were getting better, I was wrong. The fact we had every single wedding guest described to us shows that the writer had no idea what to write so bombarded us with descriptions on every little thing

The Georgia Toffolo 'Meet Me' series was an unexpected love! This is the fourth and final book in it :(! Lily is organising her friend Victoria's wedding, she has the perfect venue at a beautiful estate, booked and ready. Sadly the owner of the estate passes away and when the Son, Henry, inherits the estate he cancels all events. Lily finds out about this before Victoria and she is determined to sort this mess out before Victoria finds out. She meets with Henry and is ready to do everything she can to ensure the wedding does take place at the estate.

As you know the Meet  Me series gives all four friends their own book, which personally I loved, I loved seeing their friendships in all of them, I loved the references and connections. Reading the series as a whole definitely adds to the experience however it is not necessary for you to have read the series to read this book or any of the other ones as they all do work as stand alone.

I thought this was a fantastic conclusion to the series and I loved how it ended!  The relationships and friendships and interactions between the characters are so enjoyable!

Thank you to NetGallery, Mills and Boon and Georgia Toffolo for the ARC in return for an honest review!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

This is my first read by this author so I began reading it not knowing quite what to expect. I absolutely loved this read, it really exceeded my expectations and I didn’t want it to end. Although it is the fourth in a series it can be read on it’s own. If anything, I’ll definitely be looking to read the previous books when I can. In this book it is Lily’s turn to find her Mr Right. I thought this was a very good and entertaining read which I devoured in less than a day. When I get books like this one, that I literally couldn’t put down I know I’m onto something very good. I loved the two main characters and thought they were so likeable and believable and as a reader I was rooting for them both throughout the book. The book is written very well and had me hooked from the first page to the last. I could picture the characters and scenes in my mind when reading. I loved the friendships between the four friends and enjoyed reading of Lily and Henry’s developing feelings for each other as the book progressed. This is such a great read, it flows really well and is an uplifting, poignant and feel good read that just pulls you in and before you know it you’re immersed in the story. And what a lovely ending, very fitting for the end of the series. If you like romance, chick lit books then this could be for you and I’d recommend you read this.

We've finally reached the end of Zoe, V, Marie and Lily's stories, the four friends who have been one another's rock until they were children. After the incident scarred them, they are more than ready to find their HEA.

This book is the story of Lily, the last of her friends to find love. She's still at Hawke's Cove running her restaurant, but when Henry returns to the town, he stirs something in her. Henry was planning to never come back to Hawke's Cove but his father's death left him no choice. He plans to deal with the paperwork, sell the house and leave as fast as he can. But Lily has other plans for me. Both still reeling from the accident that happened to them as teenager, they find solace in one another, and now they need to decide if that's enough.

Not exactly Shakespeare or war & peace; but the timing of me reading this on the run up to my own wedding just filled me with so much joy. Finishing it on my minimoon then made me instantly nostalgic for my own day. The descriptions of the settings are just idyllic. And I think having read the previous 3 books I did feel a sense of completeness for the characters.

I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!!!!!!

I didn't bother to read the first three. I'm sure they're lovely, but I was only able to get this one via the library, and since it has bits of each FMCs storylines embedded into this one, it feels like enough for me. So lovely. Cozy.
