Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and to the place they now call home. Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights being a karate mom hauling her son to practices and tournaments. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, puppies, and baking.
Freedom Ride is the last book with the Devil’s Knights MC Second Generation series and it went out with a book that I couldn’t put down. It’s about two people who find each other in unusual way where looks don’t play a part because they haven’t seen each other.
Jonas/Snapper has been in prison for six years and during that time his cell mates’ sister and he begin by being pen pals. Now with his sentence ending he’ll finally get to meet Lennox. The connection between these two was perfect.
This was a “feel good” story that was a huge page turner. I was rooting for this couple throughout and I was so glad they got their HEA. I’m going to miss this series but I know with this author there is so much more instore for us.
Freedom Ride was the tenth and final book in the Devil’s Knight’s MC Second Generation series by Winter Travers. The series was best read in order. Note: I read an unedited version from Amazon, so this review did not address any editing but focused solely on the characters and storyline.
Freedom Ride opened six years after Chase the Sunset, book nine. Snapper was being released from a six year stint in prison and headed home to the Devil’s Knight’s. Despite prison, he wasn’t jaded and still had his good spirits and hope for the future. Lennox was a few states away but met Snapper through her brother, Snapper’s cell mate. They had never met in person but had been writing letters for the last three years. And the story began.
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and both characters. I also enjoyed how Travers incorporated Meg and King, book one, original series. It brought everything full circle for both series. I also enjoyed how Lennox fit with the craziness and chaos of the Devil’s Knight’s Old Ladies. All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. I don’t know where Travers will take us from here, but I can’t wait to see if she takes the journey to a third generation.
I love Lennox! I see her being a little Meg. I can’t wait to see the trouble these two could get in. I’m so ready for the next book! I’m just going to say Mac & Cheese people!😂😂 Meg on a forklift! Oh my goodness what a great book! Gotta love King for his calmness with her. So glad Snapper gets his HEA. It fits that he would find someone like Meg.
I want to start off by saying I have read all the OG books and all of the 2nd gen books. I adore each and every one of these characters and found myself immersed in their world. This book was kind of a palate cleanser for me since it is full of fluff. I loved it and savored it with each turn of the page.
I fell in love with Snapper in past books but found myself drooling over the man he has become. He has dealt with loss throughout his life and has found himself a little gun shy where happiness was concerned. When he obtains a pen pal while in prison he finds himself thinking of things he has never really thought of before. Lennox is his cell mates sister and since his cell mate is not one for writing letters every other day he introduced Lennox and Jonas. Lennox is a beautiful young lady who has a bright and bubbly personality. When Snapper is released they finally speak for the first time outside of their letters. Their first meeting is supposed to take place within a few weeks of Snapper being released, but an unfortunate or I guess fortunate event occurs and brings these two together. I loved Lennox and her ramblings and how Snapper accepted her for it. He finds it cute. She fits in with the other girls and her and Meg hit it right off. LOL Their little incident at the store had me cackling out loud. Highly recommend this whole series!!!
This is one of my favorite MC series - both the original and the 2nd Generation - wouldn’t it be grand if the now grandkids show up for a 3rd Generation of the Devil Knights MC. Maybe just wishful thinking as this is the final book of the 2nd Generation. But I digress. Like the other books before it, Freedom Ride is full of Fun, Sass, Thrills and Romance. The ole ladies (especially the original first ladies) are up to their hilarious antics that had me laughing to the point of tears. This is Jonas (Snapper) and Lennox’s story. Lennox is finally getting out of prison, after 6 yrs. 3 of which he has been writing and receiving letters from Lennox, his cell mate's sister. Snapper can’t wait to meet the girl he’s falling for from just her letters. As for Lennox, she is excited to meet her biker pen pal but scared to death too. What if he doesn’t like her, what if they don’t hit it off? All of this runs through her mind as she travels with her two dogs to meet Snapper.
You can’t help but fall in love with Lennox. Once she gets over her fears, we see a whole new side to her. And let me tell you the Lennox fits right in with this crazy bunch. She too is full of sass and laughs. This is a great story and the perfect ending for the 2nd Generation. I highly recommend it and all the Devil Knights MC books.
I loved the first series, and I have adored the 2nd generation, and what a wonderful way to end this must-read series than on such an emotional high, with a truly exception story, Snapper has been in prison for 6 years for something he should never have gone to prison for and for three years of that he has been writing to Lennox the sister of his cellmate, I loved Lennox her rambling letters were a joy to read, and when an unexpected life throws a curve ball she gets the opportunity to meet Snapper at the Devils Knights club, Winter Travers was brilliant at showcasing Lennox's worries about meeting a guy on paper she feels comfortable with but will meeting face to face meet up to the expectation, have no fear yes it does, once again we have the great Knights family making appearances and giving us great laugh out loud moments and their unique banter.
Lennox - is a shy wallflower it seems. She likes her daily routine, and her day to day activities.
Snapper - (Jonas) - is Lennox's brother's cellmate. Snapper and Lennox began writing to each other as Lennox's brother wouldn't write her back but Snapper would. Over the past 3 yrs they have gotten to know each other - through letters. Now that Snapper is out of prison he wants to met Lennox in person. The problem is they live about 4 hrs away from each other.
Lennox and her dogs make the road trip to visit Snapper - which turns into a much longer visit. Lennox is just about immediately swept into his MC crew by all the ol' ladies. Since Lennox just got fired from her awful job she isn't sure how she's gonna make ends meet and is stressing way out about it. Snapper and the ol' ladies of the club help Lennox realize what will happen will happen.
I did receive a free copy of this book as an ARC book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
What a cute love story! After all the traumatic events in Jonas’ life, he has a lot of time to reflect after killing the person who murdered his new girlfriend, and through those six years he ends up connecting with Lennox, his bunkmate’s sister. Lennox has become attached to writing letters to Jonas, and he feels the same way, and although they’ve exchanged photos, they’re both attracted to each other, and she’s scared at the potential reaction he will have to her in person. When Jonas gets out and Lennox decides to go visit him, a chain of events happen in which she loses/quits her job that she didn’t really like anyways, and with the advice of a friend, packs up her dogs and goes to meet Jonas. When they meet its electric and we see that they are meant for each other, and we see that Lennox is right where she’s meant to be – with Jonas. This was such a cute read and a great way to end the series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Freedom Ride is book ten in the Devil's Knights 2nd Gen series and the final ride. Weeps cause whether you read the first gen or sec gen (maybe both) you are going to miss this MC ban of family members. It is highly suggested you read these in order as the story picks up from the last book. We see Snapper and Lennox in this final book. Your heart will break many times as you will know that in the end he truly would have ended up where he was (not saying who) even if Snapper did not help. Lennox and him are pen pals (makes you miss writing a true letter) and navigate exploring from paper to person. It is so funny watching Lennox blab and Snapper enjoying it. Lennox is a mini Meg in my book and perfect addition to end the series. This book is a perfect ending to this amazing MC family that we will miss and hope to see in the future. It truly ends with a Freedom Ride to enjoy life and love those close to you.
I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book, but I have to say, I'm not at all okay with saying goodbye to all the amazing characters (please please give us a 3rd Generation). Jonas (aka Snapper) has been serving out a six year prison sentence, and it was when he was halfway through it that he got a pen pal in Lennox, his cell mate's sister. They've gotten to know each other really well throughout the three years of letters, and finally, he's going to get out, and get to meet his person, Lennox. The moment these two finally came face to face, the sparks were flying like crazy, and it sure didn't hurt that Lennox totally fit in with the crazy ladies of this MC. Of course it's always a bonus to see those crazy ladies again as their shenanigans get me laughing until everything hurts because they're just that hilarious. Freedom Ride was definitely a feel good story that I couldn't get enough of, but again, I don't want to say goodbye! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Freedom Ride is book ten of the Devil's Knights 2nd Generation. I would start at book one in the series, as each book starts where the previous left off. This romance journey focuses on Snapper and Lennox.
Their story was unique, humerous, and kinda sweet. It was nice to see Snapper get his happily ever after. It would have been nice to see more into his journey of acclimating in life after prison. I also would have liked to have seen an epilogue since this was the last book of the series, it would have been nice to see what Snappers future looked like especially after all the turmoil he went through in life starting at such a young age.
Overall this was an enjoyable, quick, and entertaining read but sad to see this series end. Maybe we'll see them again if Nolan gets a story in the future.
Freedom Ride by Winter Travers due 7/31/23 5 stars Lennox & Snapper + two puppies
He paid the price with six years of his life. Now he was free. He just didn't know what he'd be doing.
She had a job, not exciting, but it paid the bills and food for her two dogs she loved. What now? Now--Snapper was out. She was going to meet the man she had been writing to for years he was in prison, her brother's cellmate.
Their lives are about to change. He still has his club family. He's been welcomed back. She visits and meets them all. Will they find more than a pen pals relationship?
Great series great book. I love the characters and their relationships. This 3rd generation series lives up to the previous series. Another book you can't put down. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
I have say that its sad to see the Devil's Knights 2nd Generation series come to an end. Winter sends us off with a great story. Jonas aka Snapper has been in prison for six years. Helping him though the six years is Lennox's letters. She started writing her brother who is Snappers prison mate. Their connection is formed before seeing eachother but Snapper knows she is the one for him. Their love story is sexy and fun. I felt it was beautiful because they knew eachother before the physical attraction is pulled into their relationship. Snapper is out and is ready to ride as long as Lennox's along for the ride. Great addition to this series and ending! I still cried alittle that its over! Happy Reading 📚
Sorry to see this series end. Or maybe it's the entry to the 3rd generation? That's my wishful thinking.
Snapper gets out of prison. His cellmate's sister, Lennox, has been his pen pal. Over the years they fall in love. This is a great story. Don't expect much drama...there is nobody chasing them or trying to hurt them..well, maybe. Expect a lot of humor and to never look at a box of mac & cheese without chuckling again.
I do hope there is more to come. I love this series. If you haven't read any of Winter's books before...start now. Start with this series or her Royal Bastards Sacramento or her Fallen Lord series. Basically, just read anything she writes. You will not be disappointed.
Snapper and Lennox were the perfect couple to bring the Devil's Knights series to a close. These two were so funny, I was cracking up several times. Loved that they spent almost three years writing to each other. Lennox is a sweetheart, with some serious anxiety bubbling under the surface so she felt like a kindred spirit to me. Snapper was the perfect book boyfriend, so sexy and yet completely gone for his girl. He loved everything about Lennox, even her tendency to ramble when she got going. She takes a leap of faith and comes to him in Rockton and fits right in with the crew at the clubhouse. Even thought I am sad its over, it was a wild ride and will always be one of my absolute all time favorite MCs.
The only thing that made prison bearable for Snapper were the letters he received from Lennox. Although his cellmate and her brother wasn’t about to answer her letters Snapper didn’t feel the same and now that he is being released he can’t wait to meet the woman he has come to know through her letters.
Lennox is excited to meet Snapper but anxious as well that the connection they have formed through letters wouldn’t translate in person. She is about to find out she couldn’t have been more wrong as she is embraced not only by Snapper but the rest of the crew as well.
There is no denying that Lennox and Snapper belong together, and it was great to see the camaraderie once again with this group of characters that we have come to know and love.
I really loved this story. Two people connected through letter writing while one was in prison. They poured out their hearts, got to know each other, and then came the moment to meet in person. Snapper/Jonas did his time and knew what he wanted when he got out. Lennox was a bit shy and scared but found the guts to quit her job where she was not happy. With a push from a friend, she went to meet Snapper in person. I found her innocence and gutsy decision to move a wonderful thing. Snapper was so protective and honest with her that I fell in love with him. I found it hard to stop reading this short story.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
The long awaited final story of Snapper! I didn't want it to end. The history and story of Snapper, Meg, and Lo is so sad and sweet. I cried, I laughed, I cried and laughed some more. This book did not disappoint and neither did Mama Meg! Snapper has been gone 6 years and boy did the club miss him. He did his time and made a friend or two and had his own pen pal. Lennox is living her life, one anxiety step at a time and I totally relate. Absolutely beautiful story and they mix so well. Can't wait to see their future continue. Winter hit's another out the park and makes you want more, the "cellie" needs a story!!!
I'll be honest, I was emotional before I even started reading this one. Knowing it's the end of the Devil's Knights hits hard. Still is now, after I've read and loved every second of Snapper and Lennox's story. These two are great! I loved how their story starts, getting to know each other with letters over the years. There's a deeper connection between them that kept me completely hooked. It's great to visit old friends, to catch up on what's been happening in their lives, to laugh and love. This was the perfect ending to two very much loved series. I'm still wiping tears, I'll miss them all.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Freedom Ride made me laugh out loud and I adored Jonas & Lennox. She is the perfect ol’ lady for Meg’s chosen son! Nobody deserved a happy ending more than Snapper! He is such a sexy, fun loving guy with a big heart! I loved the letters and the rambling and how these two just completed each other! Meg & Melody are the best and it was nice to be with the OG’s. I don’t think I will every look at forklifts or mac n cheese the same way again, lol! This story just makes me happy with the twisted drama that Winter is known for thrown in.
I hate to see the Devil's Knights end. They have been a part of my life for so long. Snapper suffered such losses at a young age and sadly the justice system often makes an example of people. He was so fortunate to meet Nolan and through him, Lennox. They both knew what they wanted and held true to their goal. Of course there was excitement. There is always excitement when Mama Meg is around. But the love flowing in that club was tremendous. Thank you, Winter, for providing us with this club and these characters to love.
Jonas and Lennox have an unusual meeting, Lennox’s brother is Jonas’ cellmate in prison. She has been writing Jonas for the last 3 years and they virtually know everything about each other. Jonas, Snapper is now getting his freedom and he also wants to claim Lennox. She is a bit shy but her rambling nature is one of the things he’s going to latch onto with her, he’s going to hold onto all of the good. I adored these two and all the antics of the rest of the club that comes along for the ride.
Freedom Ride was the tenth and final book in the Devil’s Knight’s MC Second Generation series by Winter Travers. I love Lennox! I see her being a little Meg. I can’t wait to see the trouble these two could get in. Freedom Ride is full of Fun, Sass, Thrills and Romance.
That's crazy that he got put in jail 4 6 yrs 4 a murder when he never murdered anyone since that asshole killed himself after he killed a innocent woman!! He had a cell mate that he was friends with and she started writing him 4 at least 3 yrs. After he got out of prison, he was going 2 finally get 2 meet her in person. Can he have a future with Lennox or will everything b taken away from him like everything in his past? Read and find out. There's a few surprises. It's funny in a few spots. It was really good. I hope there's more of the MC in the future like a 3rd generation...
The whole series of the second generation was so cool. I loved all the the new and old characters with each of their stories. I mean each book had it all some love, some crazy, some really hot & steamy. I was laughing out loud especially when Meg and all the old ladies were around, it was just stupid good. Don't judge y,all! Seriously this series was BADASS from the beginning of the book until the end. If you love some sexy guys and awesome women you will not be disappointed!
Jonas has been in prison for six years. He’s counting the days down till freedom. His cell mates sister started being his pen pal. It helped the days go bye and make a connection to the outside world. Only thing is, he’s never seen or talked to her but on paper. Lennox is a simple girl with two puppies that are her life. When Jonas gets out of prison she doesn’t know what the next step is. He does and he’s ready to ride.
Jonas (Snapper), who is Turtles son,has been in prison for six years. he is a pen-pal with his cell mates sister. They have never met or talked to Lennox in person. Lennox is a simple girl living a simple life with her two puppies that are her life. When Jonas gets out of prison she doesn’t know what the next step is. He is ready to go home to his club and brothers and get the girl. I am sad to see the series to end but hopefully there will be another generation.
I was emotional before I even started reading this one, because I don't want the series to end but I still loved every second of Snapper and Lennox's story. Lennox is living her life one anxious step at time, and Snapper can't help but fall for her rambling self. I love how they get to know each other before actually getting to meet, and I love how well she fits into the club and his life. This was the perfect ending to the series, but I still hope it wasn't actually the end.
This is the 10th book in this incredible series, and this is Jonas / Snapper and Lennox’s journey. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, and they complete each other perfectly. This is a well written story which has humor, witty banter, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, easy to read, steamy small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
