Picking Clover
This is a well written book. The aftermath of a child's death is horrific and everyone handles this grief differently. This book did a wonderful job explaining how each character handled this grief. Well worth reading.

Kinda emotional!!!
You need an elevator to read this book & I think you'll find it's worth it!!! Super characters!! Tons of emotional upheaval, & a great story of loss & now people handle sorrow do differently!! Communication is taught as a hard, but vital lesson!!!!

Heart wrenching story
This is an emotional read. Having lost a child it is difficult for me to read this story but I became invested.

I was given a copy of Picking Clover by Bobby Hutchinson in exchange for an honest review.
I've previously read 2 other books in Bobby Hutchinson's Doctor series so I'm familiar with her writing and was looking for to reading this one. Picking Clover is a bit different from the other romances in that it's not your typical girl meets guy, girl and guy fall in love, have a misunderstanding and then get back together to live happily ever after.
Doctor Michael Forsythe and his wife Polly suffer a huge loss when their 9 year old daughter dies from an incurable form of cancer. Picking Clover is a tale of how Michael and Polly deal with their enormous grief in their own ways while learning to deal with a financial loss after their advisor betrays that trust. Is their marriage strong enough to survive all that they've been through?
Now for my review - I can't even imagine the heartbreak that comes after the loss of your child so it wasn't a light and fluffy read at all, and at times it was hard to read about, but overall I did enjoy the story. In Picking Clover, has created a story of heartbreak and takes the reader through the stages of grief while giving us hope that things will turn out alright!

Dr. Michael Forsythe and his wife Polly have lost their nine year old daughter to an incurable disease, and in the aftermath of their grief they forget how to communicate with each other and drift apart. Michael keeps himself busy working as much as possible and not thinking about their daughter, while Polly thinks about her constantly and wants to talk about her and share memories of her. Then they find themselves looking after a four year old while her father is in the hospital. Michael enjoys the child, but Polly is ashamed that she cannot bring herself to actually like this child.
This is a longer Harlequin, being a Superromance, and for the most part I just found it long and depressing. Happy ending of course, but it took forever to get to it.
