Can ancient secrets set my power free? My power grows stronger every day. I feel it pulsing inside me, beating against my ribs, surging to be set free. But what if it's not enough?
With the Human Extinction League hell-bent on raising the underworld, and just five days until they begin their ritual, time is running out.
Finding the truth behind the prophecy will mean uncovering long-buried secrets, but will it help me finally understand who I am? And will the truth be enough to help me stop what's coming?
'Embers' is the fourth book in The Phoenix Prophecy series. It is a full-length paranormal romance novel with MM and a cliffhanger. Check author's site for TW.
Another interesting addition to the series again this one was seriously spicy and fast-paced. This moved along the plot some and Luther finally is brought into the fold which I was really pleased about. I was starting to feel a little sorry for him. The ending was pure excitement and that finale was explosive and left me wanting more. What a finish that was I was on the edge of my seat throughout.
I'm really enjoying this series each book isn’t a long read but I was still invested in the outcome and because this is so fast-paced and there are six instalments it didn’t bother me that there not long books. This for me had a slight edge on the previous book I think probably because of that shocking finale.
Wow okay this series is getting really intense. As I said before it’s almost like one huge book - each left with so many unanswered questions and a cliffhanger.
I was excited Luther got steamy in this, and that it was loads more action packed!
4.2 stars. So far I’m a little confused about why this is a 6 book series. The plot seems a little simpler than I thought it’d be, but it’s getting dragged out so we can get a bunch of smut. I’m not really complaining about the smut, ‘cause that’s damn hot, but the way these characters fall together, and the way the plot is moving so slowly around them, is a tiny bit underwhelming so far.
I’m just really hoping these last two books makes it all make sense, and I’ll be so engrossed and happy with the HEA that I won’t care it took 6 books to get there when it really should’ve taken 2 or 3 max. 🤷🏻♀️ High hopes. I know. But I’m still liking it. I’m just getting sort of confused.
i don’t even remember what happened in this book. it took me a bit to finish because the story is so dragged out. the spice is the same. i think mack finally gave in and had sex with nova. luther also gave into his feelings for her. the underworld king got his sacrifice (nico) in exchange for elena. oh omg and SAM IS GONE. with the king came a great black hole and kayla pushed sam into it because she was upset nico died in sam’s place.
Okay this definitely was improvement but I still can't get over some facts. I'm trying to ignore them but it's hard. Other than that I can't wait to see what happens next!!
This book was much better than the last one. We're finally making some progress on this friggin' prophecy, Luther stopped being a twat towards the end of the book, and Professor Daddy Baloo finally gave in. I'm still not sure why he kept saying he would hurt her, as if telling her that she's fine enough to play with but not be fully intimate with wouldn't do the same thing lmfao.
I'm sure it'll be for a good reason in the next book but the Viking needs a swift kick to the nuts for the secrecy.
Sam, I'm almost not surprised by his actions strictly because he's made it known that he feels lesser since he doesn't have any magic. I am surprised to where his actions led for him though so that should be interesting part in the next book.
Poor Nico. My boy just wants to be loved. His mother thinks of him more as a possession than an actual loved one because if she truly loved her son she wouldn't have subjected him to everything hes had to do while growing up, knowing that all he wanted was Ragnar's approval. Kinda hoping he becomes part of the harem and it derails the prophecy in a good way.
Okay. Despite the fact that this is my lowest rated one so far i didn't dislike the book. I still enjoyed it, I did feel however that it slowed down in this book until like the last couple chapters. It didn’t feel like the plot progressed as much as in other books. Dare I say, 5 guys may be too many, hahahaha. At least for a series where each book is only 300 pages long, 5 guys is too many to fit into such a short book. I feel like I haven't seen Tanner in years. The poor guy has been kinda forgotten by the author. I get that she has to focus on the next person and can't focus on all of them every single time but maybe 5 was too many. I feel like when it was 3 guys there was enough time in each book to give each guy their proper amount of attention. But adding more characters and not adding more pages has left me a bit disappointed. I still like it and am excited to read the next one though!
This book felt too drawn out and with a lot of filler and being honest this was straight up p0rn.
They’re literally dying but any time is funs time.
The plot development is minimal in all the books although at list in this one there was more development in the characters.
Nova’s life is in danger and she is supposed to save the world but from where Im seeing it she’s having the best time of her life. Im really not a fan of her character she’s bland, whiny, and being blunt useless.
Luther finally got that stick put of his ass although the way he gave in to the relationship felt ridiculous and illogical.
I hate the sacrificing shit Sam did, there’s no other word.
This was meh, im starting to get bored, it’s just more of the same and all a little too predictable.
Nooooooooooo I can’t deal with that ending! My heart! I need answers! November 30th cannot come fast enough!
This was such a great addition to Nova’s story! The emotional depth to the relationships between the cast of characters and the struggles of balancing their pasts and the present is phenomenal. It really adds to the story!
I loved getting to see more of Luther and Nova, and I look forward to watching them grow even more especially with the revelation of the hidden past between them.
This story is just so great. Like the best. I love it.
I really liked the story, I was really excited about the prophecy, it was a good idea about the ancestors. But the writing sucks, it doesn't even seem like I've memorized the first two books, because from the third one onwards it just went downhill. The story gets boring, it feels like there's been no revision of the facts because so much gets lost or mixed up in the narrative! Her relationship with the boys didn't grow at all, there was no character development and no dialog between them. The main character then, my God 🥱 BORING!!! Anyway, I'm disappointed, I'm not going to continue after this one! There are still 3 more books, man, never, I have no time for this!
First and foremost! This series goes in order and leaves off on cliffhangers! If you have not read the three previous books, then go do that first! Otherwise, this review will contain spoilers and also be confusing. We are also two books away from the end of this six-book series!

"You're a seer. Shouldn't you know if you're talking bullshit?" - Tanner
Nova and her guys are trying to find answers that no one seems eager to give up. With the League breathing down their necks and practically on their doorstep. Along the Bureau chasing them it seems like our groups caught between a rock and a hard place. Desperate for answers ideas are brought to light but if they act out the plans will they actually get answers or more questions?
Times ticking down for the group and for Nova herself. Five days until all hell breaks loose, quite literally. Her powers are growing every day and surprising everyone by how fast she's advancing. But will she be strong enough? And will a history lesson really help the group? Is there more to the Phoenix Prophecy?
"I guess I could be your therapy wolf." - Sam
Ugh! So, I love how there are different burns within this book and how the guys are not instantly like Nova's mine. We already had the Professor being hard to get and now it's Luther's tern. I love the build and how they're both facing their demons but still. . . Polar Daddy and Fire Daddy need to get over themselves.
At first, I was unsure about Luther, but his character has grown on me. With the last book, "Ashes: The Phoenix Prophecy Book 3", Luther opened up a little bit about his past to Nova. Since then though things have been a little rocky and heated. I liked watching the struggle Luther was having but I was also like come on! It's so obvious my man.
"The way you make me feel. . .it's sinful, Nova." - Mack
With this book we get to see more into Mack's past and why he has been denying himself. My heart went out to him, and I am glad that we got to see some vulnerability with him. Being the Daddy of the group is difficult but it's time he understood that he doesn't always have to be the rock. He can lean on others and Nova's more than happy to hold him in her arms.
I loved the mystery of this book and how puzzles needed to be solved. How their time limit went from maybe this much time to no time at all. Understanding what Ragnor wishes to do is insane and you know it isn't going to end well. In more ways than one. I enjoyed finding out that there's a little more to The Phoenix Prophecy than what everyone thought.
I just loved how dynamics are forming and establishing, relationships are getting worked out, and the group is getting closer to each other. I also liked the tension and arguments between Tanner and Kole. I cannot wait for the next read because the cliffhanger was a doozy! I could predict some things within this read and some of the ending, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book! The artwork for the covers continues to be absolutely stunning! The story is still one that has me hooked and ready for more!
I loved this one big spicy scene within the book involving an overnight cargo train, a blindfold, and drop-dead gorgeous men. . . I was so submerged into the scene I had to remember to breathe. I may have said damn a handful of times. . . This series is a why choose series and the men are not shy about sword crossing. We have some bisexual representation but only within the group dynamic, so all the actions are present in this book! MF, MFM, MMMFM, and so forth. You won't be disappointed.
The book does contain language, there's violence and blood, hints of a previous suicide, being burned, and depictions of panic attacks on page. This is a darker fantasy romance, and some things may be triggering for some. There are some kinks displayed in the book such as Daddy/Baby Girl, punishment/praise, biting and slight blood play from bites, and so much more. It is all consensual amongst the cast and the guys are focused on Nova and her pleasure.
I loved how one of the guys has a pierced. . . The tropes are close proximity, enemies to lovers, age gap, and so much more that I may not have picked up on. I loved the multiple POVs to get to see what the guys are thinking about or trying not to. This is still a very good read and series; I cannot wait for the next two books and to see how this all ends. I am hoping for a happy ending! Nova definitely deserves one!
Enjoy the read with all the spice, mystery, and magick! Don't forget to give the author some stars!
"He does not hate you." "Ah. He does." I lean over and kiss her cheek. "Maybe. But it doesn't matter. I love you enough for two people." Book 1 pg. 247
***Spoilers Ahead***
I did end up finishing this series despite the rating being 3/5. (It's worth noting that I automatically give 3 stars if I FINISH a book, because my ADD will not let me finish something I don't REALLY like.) I did like the books overall, I think the biggest reason I finished was because of how much I liked the characters. I usually don't mind a good insta-love story, especially when it comes to fated mates, because it makes sense with fated mates. However, it wasn't yet accepted that they were fated mates and already one of them was telling the FMC that she loved him. Which is just kind of cringy to me? I just felt like the overall plot was almost an afterthought. The world wasn't really explained as much as I would have liked, leaving me confused in some areas. There were also some chapters that were from the villain's POV. Which I don't mind, but it was kind of a curveball and I had no idea what was happening and had to read the chapter twice. I loved the love stories between the characters, and I think there is a lot of potential for the fantasy plot aspect it just felt lacking. Like we kept leading to something great just to be a bit let down.
Note to the author: there needs to be a better trigger warning, please!
Nova has survived being beaten, raped, and branded by her boyfriend. One night when she is sure he will finally go to far an kill her, something ignites inside her, literally. The next thing she knows her apartment, her boyfriend, and herself are on fire. She somehow ends up completely unharmed. Only problem is, she lives in a city that is run by the Anti Magick Alliance so when the paramedics notice her clothes are burned but she is not, the whispers start. Luckily, her neighbor shows up to help her get out of the city before she is classified a witch and burned at the stake (maybe literally?) for using her powers against a human. Her neighbor drops her off at the bus station, gives Nova her coat and $200 and tells her to flee.
She flees to Phoenix Falls where she meets a group of men that take an instant interest in her well being. Kole, a seer and earth mage that is a recovering blood addict. Mack, the "daddy" of the group, professor, sheriff, and a polar bear shifter! Tanner, a water mage, and more importantly an empath that knows what Nova needs before she does. And Luther, a fire mage and officer in Mack's department.
They are convinced that she is part of a prophecy that will save supes and humans alike from the shadow king that is determined to return to earth to rule, and he isn't working alone. He has a the Human Extinction League, led by Ragnor, to help him return. And he is willing to do and use whoever he needs to, to accomplish it. Including his son, Nico.
Nico is a celebrity known for trying to bring supes and humans together, he also happens to look a hell of a lot like Sam, the foster brother Nova thinks she killed when she was a child. When Nova is led to believe Nico IS Sam, she risks everything to protect him. Luckily, she has her men around to save her from continuing to make the mistake of trusting him. But trusting him led to her finding out that, although Nico isn't Sam, Sam is still alive. Nova and her men are determined to find and save him.
Nova is lucky enough to have these four men in her life to help her not only survive, but also fulfill the prophecy she still isn't convinced she is a part of. There is just one problem, the prophecy calls for **5** mates. With how she is feeling towards Sam now that they are older, it makes sense that he is the fifth mate in the prophecy, and with the voice that keeps speaking to them telling them to find "the wolf shifter" it can only mean him, right?
The six of them must be willing to do whatever it takes to save everyone and everything from the shadow king, including sacrificing each other. Will their love help them on their journey? Or prevent them from doing what is necessary to succeed?
Reviven a Elena.

This is a new author for me and I saw this series advertised and just thought it sounded really interesting. Y’all when I tell you I DEVOURED these books. I read all 6 in two and a half days. What was sleep?? I needed answers!
Nova, our FMC, has lived her life thinking she’s human until one night while defending herself from her abusive boyfriend she suddenly sets some magic free. She has to escape or others she’ll be hunted down. She ends up in Phoenix Falls where she meets our guys. Upon meeting her they’re sure she’s the one that’s destined to fulfill this prophecy they had discovered and save everyone.
I loved this story. Not only was the premise different than anything I’ve read before but it constantly kept me on my toes. Each book ended on a cliffhanger that made me grateful this was a completed series. When I thought I had something figured out another curveball was thrown at the characters.
The relationships between Nova and each of the guys was absolutely beautiful. Tanner, our empath and water mage, is so sweet and I adored the retriever energy from him. Kole, seer and Earth mage, he’s broody and has this trauma he’s working through but his bond with Nova is everything. Mack, shifter and air mage, he’s the big brother/Daddy of the group and man let me tell you…he’s definitely a Daddy. Sam, werewolf, he’s got that same retriever energy as Tanner and is just so sweet and protective. Luther, fire mage, he’s broody and grumpy and we love him all the more for it.
This series was spicy, it was funny, it was heart wrenching, it made me cry, and I loved every minute of it. It’s slept on and I’m going to recommend it to everyone. Go read it.
Nova is finally reunited with her step-brother Sam, and things should feel more manageable with this reconnection, but with the Bureau still hellbent on capturing Nova, and The Human Extinction League getting close to their goal of raising Hell, the stakes seem to be higher than ever.
I adore this world so much, it's fast-paced, and incredibly written, you get utterly lost and there's something in this that is so addicting, you just find yourself inhaling the stories, especially with such scorching spice peppered throughout.
I love when Nova has more one-to-one interaction time with each of her men, being able to dive deeper into their personalities, unique quirks and history is so enlightening and fun, particularly when it's with Mack and Luther, who are way more reserved and closed off compared to the others.
I am truly just so invested and captivated by this series. Cara... I just want to talk.... The cliff-hanger and the history of the Original Six had me absolutely shook to my core. It had me pacing the room and contemplating my whole life (and boy do the cliff-hangers in this series do emotional damage with each instalment). Prepare yourself cause this one in particular had me reeling.
Oh my goodness, this series, Cara you're going to give me grey hairs girl! I think we're lucky that this is a quick release series so that we're able to get the next book soon! Once I started reading this book I couldn't stop, and only realized once I was close to the end that the cliffhanger smacked me in the face.
Nova and her guys, are up against even more evil than they can imagine, that wench Eve is still causing issues. Don't worry it's not all work and no play, the 🌶 really amps up in this book. And we finally see Luther and Nova come together, WOOHOO! It was so great to watch them come together, and all of the other fun 🌶 scenes 😉. I can't wait for how close they will all come in book 5, because they're going to need it. They're going to need to become stronger to overcome everything they've seen and learned.
I don't know if I've got a favorite, but right now Tanner & Kole are vying for top spot. I also think Daddy Mack is climbing up in ranks.
Another amazing book in this fantastic series! Dont know what it is but this series just got me hooked and doesnt want me to put the book down its sooo good!
Again action packed and answers to questions you didnt even know you had.
Nova and her guys sure are up against some big bads and Eve whom i stil dont like!
The story is filled with very steamy sexy times and i mean really steamy wink wink.
I wish i had something more to say but i am at a loss for words this book is just so well written, the author just writes that good that it sucks you in and doesnt let go.
I was so happy so so happy when mr grumpy pants Luther finaly let go of what ever held him back, the same goes for Daddy Mack. I adore them both but stil my favorite is Kole.
Lucky for us we dont have to wait long for the next book because i need to know what they are going to do now!
This book is classified as Paranormal Romance, and is book four of a connected series. It does have a trigger warning list: spicy references, graphic spicy content, references to DV, scars, scars from fire, unaliving by fire, and fire-play spicy scenes, addiction, brief NONCON, breath play, DOM/SUB scenes, praise, daddy, age gap, blud play/biting, foster siblings, mention of self delete.
The book is written in first person. This book has multiple point of views: Tanner, Nova, Kole, Nico, Luther, Sam, and Mack. Tanner, Nova, Kole, Luther, and Mack are from books one through three. Sam and Nico are from book three. Tanner is struggling with his powers, while Nova is learning to control hers. Nico is learning about family secrets, while Sam learns he has family alive. Luther is struggling with his feelings, while Mack is fighting his.
I want her so much I can hardly breathe when she’s near me. Like there’s no air left in the room if she’s in it.
Embers is the next installment in the “Phoenix Prophecy” series and I really enjoy the build-up of this series. Nova and her fated men gradually get closer to the moment everyone’s fate relies on, and time won’t stand still to give them time to prepare. This is definitely one of the spicier books in the series; they all seem to like this form of stress release… Never thought about all the things you can do when you ride a train, but I’m pretty sure that scene will haunt me from now on. I enjoy seeing the connections between Nova and her men grow stronger, both physical and emotional, but the best part of this series for me remains the suspense and build-up to what promises to be an epic ending. I’m looking forward to book 5!
I tried really hard with this series, but I just got so annoyed with it. I only made it 25% through this 4th book.
If you just want smut/erotica and aren't overly worried about the plot actually moving forward, this series is for you.
If like me, you want the plot to be the main focus, this is not the series for you.
Every book moves the plot forward very, very minimally and every book ends on a cliffhanger. Not to mention that the FMC started the book in a hideously abusive relationship but somehow has no trauma? No hangups? Just immediately starts getting it on with these guys she's known for a couple days? We (and therefore she) don't even learn the guys last names until book 3!
while i can appreciate smaller books, it seems like this series is just going to drag on and on. the relationships here are getting odd even for me. i really can’t stand how everyone refers to each other as siblings 😬😅 like all the guys are getting it on but are like “you’re like my brother” and then proceed to screw. or Nova and Sam. she CONSTANTLY is referring to him as her brother and even the other guys refer to him as her brother. it’s just.. a bit much 🙃🙃🙃
the plot is dragging on and on. i find myself skimming a lot. while it’s engaging and interesting it just doesn’t need to keep being stretched over several books. like one book does not need to consist of a weeks worth of a timeline sorry to say 🤔idk im invested but im getting bored

The plot is intriguing which is what keeps me reading the series. But I’m realizing I’m 4 books in and everything has taken place in maybe a month? There has been 0 character development from anyone. Even when some of the men loosen up and decide to love Nova it’s not from growth. It’s from a vision or giving in to sex. The sex scenes also don’t make any anatomical sense. I was drawn to the series because of a blurb that spoke about the virgin lover in the harem being taught how to please the girl but that really didn’t happen. They just jumped into group sex and he mimicked some actions but it wasn’t all that interesting to read.
I can't with this series thw guys and nova are just amazing. When I found out nova /Ava had a child i was screaming and with Luther of all the guys!!!! I really hope at the end of this series she has a child either one with each giy or just one I'm not picky!!! But a child must happen and they must have a family !!!!
I really hope sam isn't stuck in hell and even if nico was a little shit he seems to have learned his lesson and is really nice now thw way he threw himself to save sam but then kayla the bitxh kicking sam into thw void I was fuming I hope she dies 😤 but the story line is so good can't wait to read what's next !!!!!

A brutal cliffhanger of an ending, but this is part of what makes this such a great book. Though, it pains me to admit it! Well, this book is incredible. Started off where book 3 ended. And, sheesh, some real heavy emotional hitters in this one! Plenty of steam and group..uh, fun times 🔥I liked the moments of humour sprinkled in. I especially loved the one part where Sam was commenting on Polar Daddy and Fire Daddy having an argument, that was just perfect! 😂 Again, that ending though 🤯 Can’t wait to find out what happens next!
Each book has gotten better and better! We’re learning answers to questions we’ve had and to questions we didn’t realize we needed to ask! I’m so excited about the relationship growth that happens in this book with Nova and her guys! There’s still so many secrets, but they’re slowly opening up and sharing. I had major emotional whiplash from this one though because as happy as I was, that cliffhanger left me borderline in tears! I can’t wait for Flames!
WOW...this series has really kept me on my toes. I really thought that the story could not get any better but it does. I have read all our of these books in a week and I just can't stop I wish the final one was out but I will just have to take my time or reread the series again the week before the final 6th book comes out.
There are so many twist and turns for our MCF that she really does not know what is up and down anymore. I love that all of her men are always at her back but I am really ready to see her Phoenix Fly!
I feel like the never ending shifting of goal posts is getting old. Like what are we even doing we know their connection now but what does it even matter at this point? What is the end game of all of this?
It is still a four ⭐️, but honestly this is getting to be a bit much we get it she is the phoenix and fated to five and we know the villains (kinda) but we still have zero idea why the head villain is even doing this or even needs Nova.
If the next book doesn’t give anymore reasons/details then I’ll just go to book 6 and skim it.
-age gap -why choose -taboo (foster siblings) -mystery -Paranormal romance
This is the fourth book in the series, and the plot is becoming increasingly exciting and suspenseful. In order to prevent the demons from taking over, all of the characters must work together. However, one of the characters is struggling to accept Nova and her true identity. Despite his mental reservations, he is physically drawn to her. Additionally, the character who betrayed the group appears to have had a change of heart, but it remains uncertain if it is too late for redemption.
Things are starting to escalate in this 4th book of The Phoenix Prophecy series. With that more truths surface that explain more about Nora (FMC) and the guys - Mack, Tanner, Kole, Luther and Sam. It puts their relationship in perspective. Brilliant plot twists and fast paced action certainly kept me on my toes from beginning to end. This series is so twistingly good and with another great cliffhanger ending I'll be on tenterhooks until the next book
