Leigh had her own film company and wrote and produced 7 TV series for children. She would also "write" the music for her series, although this usually involved her humming or singing the tune into a tape recorder, after which someone else would arrange and write a score.
She studied oil and watercolor painting with Diana Raphael and Michael Chaitow, who her interest in abstract art. Her work has been exhibited at the Podbury Gallery and Finnegan's Gallery in London.

Re Too Bad To Be True - this one gets some high marks but I can't help but wonder if some HP editor wasn't being facetious over this title. This story kinda squicks me out, but I figure it is probably because of my own biases, so remember mileage varies and other readers really liked this book.
The book starts with the h's beloved stepfather dying and the h blames his very young trophy ex wife and her lawyer, who basically took the stepdad for everything he had during the divorce. For some reason the h actually believes the little golddigging tart when she insists that it was her lawyer's fault the former wife sold her ex-husband's stock and he lost his company rather than let him buy it back. Now this h is an award winning, astute architect and doesn't look like she is missing any brain cells, but she absolutely believes the little schemer and starts hating the ex-wife's lawyer and blaming him for the step-father's death.
Well, as fate and author manipulations have it, the h gets the opportunity to design a house for the H, who is the ex-wife's lawyer and the King of California divorce attorneys. He is really, really into the h and while initially repulsed by his hit it and quit it reputation, the h sees a fine shot at revenge. She starts dating the H. The plan being to tease him and lead him on, marry him, keep his libido hopping with out ever succumbing to the lurve club mojo and then divorcing him and making him pay - just like he did to her stepfather.
So she does, and the H goes nuts in frustration until they marry. Then the h makes his life as horrible as possible and refuses to sleep with him. ( I kinda lost any empathy for this h when she was faking evidence for physical abuse - it really, really bothered me and the h was just thrilled she had such a great plan. ) Eventually the worm turns and the h comes home to see the H with another woman. So she leaves and files for divorce, realizing all too late that she really loved the H and then she threw it away.
Then (and this is the part that finished the squicking out process for me,) the H's mother tricks the h into meeting her, grills her over the marriage and tells the h that the H was totally justified in committing adultery because subconsciously he knew the h really did not love him.
Except that makes no sense cause the h's subconscious DID love the H, so basically what mum is saying is that the H can shag whomever and whatever if his subconscious is pricking and if the h really loves him, she will willingly take the blame for his infidelity. Rule number # 1 is here with a vengeance and this is coming from the H's MOTHER - which is just plain disgusting in my book, but judging by the way she lies and manipulates the h, I wouldn't be surprised if she had a few on the side during her marriage as well. Either way I was completely squicked out.
But the h decides she needs the H, so she goes and grovels and the H supposedly wasn't cheating, he was helping his former employee, he never told the stepdad's ex-wife to sell her shares, she did it all on her own, and of course the H forgives her and they lurve it up for the HEA. I WAS able to believe this-- eventually, for just about long enough to write this, with a few shots of the Captain and two triple turtle fudge cookies to keep the illusion going - but I am not holding out for long-term HEA effects.
To be fair, there is some really amusing banter between the H and h, and the h is quite creative in her lurve club avoidance techniques. I just couldn't stomach the fake physical abuse scheme and then the condoning of infidelity as a justifiable act because "his subconscious knew ", it was just too much squickiness in the HPLandia rosy glow process for me to be happy with this one. Don't let that put off the curious tho, the story is readable and RL does manage to be entertaining. So while it did not work for me, this may be another HP traverler's cuppa.

They don't make'em like this anymore!
FMC's stepfather married a gold digger, when she divorced him she took everything. The gold digger's lawyer is the MMC who despises marriage, cynical and only represent morally corrupt women who marry men twice and trice their age and take them for the cleaners.
As a result FMC's stepfather suffered a stroke and died. FMC vowed to extract revenge by any means necessary. And she was really diabolical that one! We did not have one chapter of childish revenge and then wow she fell in love.
And the MMC put out a fight too, he wouldn't fall for her traps and was atrociously honest that he only wanted sex. We didn't have him seducing her for some pages and then declare undying love.
For that terrific battle of wills, this book was so entertaining.
Checking the square of reading a "clean romance book" for my Bingo Challenge. A clean book yes, but a very passionate one nonetheless!

Wow. The fang-toothed mother in law tells the heroine she has only herself to blame for her husband’s infidelity and the idjeet buys it, and runs groveling back to him. Grrrrr....

I liked the characters and the snappy dialogue but the revenge was misdirected against the hero instead of the person truly at fault (who enjoyed the rest of her life scott-free.) This made the heroine a lot more manipulative and in the wrong for the romance to work for me.

It delivered what it promised! If you a looking for a typical HP revenge gone wrong trope! Enjoyed every minute of the 'revenge' plot! Recommend it to all who enjoy a typical misguided revenge story.

Leslie Watson has decided that divorce attorney, Dane Jordan, must pay for the inadvertent death of her step-father. Yeah, a quirky vengeance story. Her method is to lead Dane on and hold him back until he finally wants marriage with her. When he does, she will bid her time then seek divorce to make him pay. Sounds diabolical, doesn’t it? In the end I wanted to shake her for blaming him for something so ironically stupid to begin with. Does she make the ex-wife pay? No, instead she trusts every word out of that gold diggers mouth! Okay, so I still had to go along with the premise in order to enjoy the story. For the most part I did. Dane was a great guy and if Leslie would have looked past her stupid grudge she would have seen that earlier on, instead she proceeds with her plans. However, she finally seems to see the light, but this is where things started to fall apart for me.

'But I don't,' he announced smoothly, 'and I won't pretend I do. I desire you, ache for you, but I don't love you. I'm marrying you because I can't have you any other way. It doesn't mean our marriage has less chance of being successful. In fact the odds are probably better for us. Apart from wanting you like crazy, I enjoy your company and admire your brain. I'm sorry I can't declare undying love, but I won't enter this relationship on a lie. You have my friendship and respect, and I hope that's enough. Many marriages have succeeded on far less.'
I'm not a fan of Roberta Leigh, but I wanted to read something intense and this revenge plot caught my fancy.
What can I say?
Two boring, conceited, self-centered and shallow characters try to outdo one another.
All the action happens off-stage. Why is he following her? We're told that she's not only beautiful but smart and doesn't bore him. Do we see the evidence? No.
How is she luring him into her trap? We don't know. She's waspy and sarcastic all the time, and he's begging for her flattery. But we're told she's the sweetest fiancee.
'Meet me in the dining-room at nine. Or is that too early for you?'
'You've got to be kidding. I'm not a lying-in girl.
'Because you've no one to lie in with! Do it with the right person, and I guarantee you'll find it more fun than getting up!'
'I'll take your word for it.'
'Try it for yourself - with me.'
Leslie sighed. 'You deserve an A-plus for persistence.'
'For performance too!' came the swift retort. 'Try me.'
'I will - on our wedding night!'
Dane chuckled. 'You deserve an A-plus for insistence!'
When the h is given a taste of her own medicine by her mother-in-law, she's outraged that somebody dares to approach her with a hidden agenda.

I like revenge stories, especially when it’s the woman taking revenge. But the ending was not satisfying.

We could stop the title at 'Too bad'. Nothing remotely true or worth believing in this tale. Just a fancy , nonsensical story of a stupid girl and her crazy revenge plan.
The girl's step father has a nasty divorce. His young wife takes him to the cleaners, with the help of a hot hunkie lawyer. So step daughterly duties demand that she take revenge. Not against the bitchy wife, but against the lawyer !!!
So for a girl who is cursing the hero for ruining one marriage, she sets out to ruin one more - her own, with the lawyer! But in a more gruesome and disgusting fashion. She flirts with the lawyer, entices him with half sex, gets him desperate, and forces him to offer marriage.
Then from Day 1 of marriage, she gets onto Plan B. How do destroy her own marriage. In the hope that it will hurt the hero. Hello honey, doesn't a broken marriage hurt you in any way !@?!@?
After a set of dirty tricks, she manages to achieve her brilliant goal. But by then she realizes the lawyer wasn't such a swine after all. It was all the bitchy mummy's making. And of course, the best realization of all. I hate him but I loved him all along.
Now nobody can beat that logic. So that's all that takes for a HEA.
Crazy, superficial story. Author should have invested a little more sense and emotion into it.

I thought I'd like this at first (revenge stories can be entertaining) but the h was such a vindictive bitch I soon lost all sympathy for her! It took her forever to figure out that her beloved stepfather was TSTL when he married a young gold-digger who took him for everything she could get, and put all the blame on the H, the woman's divorce lawyer. When it becomes clear how attractive he finds her, the h plots her revenge!
Naturally, things don't turn out as planned, but the author really goofed here, when she had the h discover she really loved the H and decide to come clean about everything. (This was the one point in the story where I liked her.) Ms. Leigh should have had him discover the truth on his own before she got a chance to tell him, and then reject her for a time, because this was one case where h should have done some groveling, but instead she makes it appear that the H had cheated, which makes the h go into full bitch mode and tell him how she used him, how she's going to make all kinds of terrible charges against him in divorce court, ruin his reputation, take him for everything he's got, etc., and it made me want to, slap her silly, since she had been lying, scheming, plotting etc. for so long (which included making dumb excuses not to sleep with him) and now she's ballistic because he's treated her badly! What about the way she treated him????? When it comes to double standards, women can be the biggest hypocrites!
Things end up with the H's manipulative mother playing games to show her the error of her ways, and she goes running b ack to the h wanting to start over, but I don't think the H should have given her a second chance so quickly. True, he made some mistakes himself, (like letting her think he really had cheated) but half the time he was a lot nicer to this pain in the ass h then she deserved!
The men in this book were all pretty TSTL. The stepfather makes a fool of himself over a gold-digger, the H's savvy lawyer brain goes brain dead when he doesn't figure out the h is conning him, the H's friend spills the beans about the H's past when the h gets flirty with him, another friend is too dumb to realize how smart his wife is, and the OM (a token guy thrown in) falls for the h almost immediately and practically throws himself at her feet, while she feels nothing but friendship for him. Talk about a bunch of nincompoops!
And NO WAY do I believe the h, just a few short years after graduation, made it to partner of her firm, and designed all those buildings all by her lonesome, because of her brains/talent alone, with no help from her famous stepdad! NO WAY!!! I believe that about as much as I believed she was a virgin before the H! The author put so much emphasis on her gorgeous, sexy looks and how many guys were hot for her, and how much dating she did, and we're supposed to fall for the "save myself till marriage" nonsense???? COME ON!!!!! She and her hymen parted ways a good ten years ago!!! Why do you think she found it so easy to come up with that "infection down south" excuse not to sleep with the H? She probably had her share of experience with that problem, a "gift" from her many boyfriends.

Olvastam már az írónőtől, A kétarcú lány az egyik kedvenc Harlequin-füzetem, így örültem, hogy egy újabb füzet került birtokomba Roberta Leigh történetei közül.
Az Aki másnak vermet ás… annyiban hasonlít az előbb említett műre, hogy az alapszituáció itt is egy hazugságból indul ki, amelyből persze itt is valódi érzelmek lesznek. Na és ezt a történetet is nagyon élveztem, azzal együtt is, hogy Leslie-nek volt egy-két idegesítő húzása; szegény Robertet én komolyan sajnáltam, pláne amilyen türelmet mutatott. Na de minden jó, ha a vége jó, és az odáig vezető út élvezetesen volt megírva, így szeretnék még további történeteket olvasni az írónőtől. :)
Olvastam már az írónőtől, A kétarcú lány az egyik kedvenc Harlequin-füzetem, így örültem, hogy egy újabb füzet került birtokomba Roberta Leigh történetei közül.
Az Aki másnak vermet ás… annyiban hasonlít az előbb említett műre, hogy az alapszituáció itt is egy hazugságból indul ki, amelyből persze itt is valódi érzelmek lesznek. Na és ezt a történetet is nagyon élveztem, azzal együtt is, hogy Leslie-nek volt egy-két idegesítő húzása; szegény Robertet én komolyan sajnáltam, pláne amilyen türelmet mutatott. Fun book, but I agree with some of the other reviews (regarding the heroine’s methods and some other things).
What I really couldn’t get past was these S California characters talking like Brits. “Fancy” this and “fancy” that and talking about the loo. I’m from LA and we don’t talk like that.

As his mother said, revenge and sex are lousy reasons for marriage and the story itself is rather silly.

I have no problem with her vengeance this kind of H deserved it. Roberta Leigh's Hs will always be a cheater and I don't see any real HEA in 95% of her books.

In Leslie's mind, divorce lawyer Dane Jordan caused the death of her stepfather. The huge settlement Dane extracted ruined the dear man, and Leslie ached for revenge.
So, discovering that the charismatic counselor's weak spot was her, Leslie planned to charm the Bel Air bachelor right down the matrimonial aisle. Then she'd give him a taste of his own medicine--a divorce!
All she had to do, Leslie assured herself, was stay out of Dane's persuasive arms until he proposed--and keep her heart out of the whole affair.
