I quite enjoyed reading this fairly shortened biography of Gandhi's life. There were quite a few details of his life as a young boy and his years spent in South Africa. I loved reading about the transformation that took place in his life and how he came to be the most influential man in our history. I learned quite a few things about Gandhi that I didn't already know, which make me respect and admire him and his message even more.

The book was fairly easy to read and contains photos, which keep the reader's interest. Because of this and the information contained, I will definitely be looking for more detailed accounts of Gandhi's life to read in the future.

A wonderful biography that covers the life of Gandhi from his youth on through to his death. The book discusses the situation that India was in at the time (under British rule) and the personal experiences that helped to shape the man that Gandhi became.

While the purpose of the book is primarily as a historical account, the clever antics and spirit of Gandhi cannot be contained just by the facts. His character sparkles through and makes for one of the most enjoyable biographies that I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

This was a pretty good book for a biography. I tend to like historical fiction because then I get a good novel along with the biography. I learned several things about Gandhi that I would have never known. For example, Gandhi had a very hard time speaking in public when he was young. He would be sick to the point of passing out or getting sick. He had to leave the stage on several occasions. When he became passionate about civil rights that fear left him. He was able to bring about a great change for minorities. We need more people like him in our world.

Described as "an introduction" this book admirably fulfils that promise. Gives a full, succinct and readable account of Gandhi's life and philosophy and leaves you wanting to find out more
