The first three full-length novels of the fast-paced, high-adventure, international urban fantasy Immortal Vegas Series in one box set! Deal yourself in for the smart-mouthed jokes, stay for the adventure, and never bet against the house…
Wilde Magic: Tarot-reading artifact hunter Sara Wilde has had her share of tough assignments, but this one just might take the cake. When her newest client hires her to steal a fertility idol from an Amazonian sex-and-death cult, she finds herself south of the equator and shoulder deep in true believers, while Rio de Janeiro gears up for the closing celebrations of Carnival. Stealing the idol is one thing, however. Keeping it is another.
Getting Wilde: Using her well-worn Tarot deck, magical-artifacts hunter Sara Wilde can find anything--for a price. And the price had better be right, since she needs to finance her own personal mission to rescue several young psychics recently sold on the paranormal black market. Enter Sara's most mysterious client, the wickedly sexy Magician, with a job that could yield the ultimate payday. All she'll have to do is get behind Vatican walls... and steal the Devil himself.
Wilde Card: When an antique gold show comes to Vegas, artifact-hunter Sara Wilde's job is simple: to locate and liberate a set of relics rumored to give their bearers access to an ancient, incredible power. Yet within the Connected community, whispers of a war against magic draw every psychic, mystic, warlock, and witch to Sin City. The most powerful Connected also covet the infamous relics, but no one wants them more than Sara's client—the insufferably arrogant, criminally sensual, and endlessly evasive Magician.
Take the adventure with Sara Wilde and Immortal Vegas…where everything changes with a flip of a card.
Jenn Stark is a Golden Heart award-winning author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. She lives and writes in Ohio. . . and she definitely loves to write. :) In addition to her urban fantasy Immortal Vegas and Wilde Justice series and her paranormal romance Demon Enforcers series, she is also author Jennifer McGowan, whose Maids of Honor series of Young Adult Elizabethan spy romances are published by Simon & Schuster, and author Jennifer Chance, whose Rule Breakers series of New Adult contemporary romances are published by Random House/LoveSwept and whose modern royals series, Gowns & Crowns, is now available.
This author also goes by Jennifer McGowan. See that Goodreads author page here.
I love Stark's writing. She's mastered a balance between literary description and fast-paced plotting: the perfect writing style for a story with modern characters and ancient archetypes.
I picked this up because of a few reasons: good price, great reviews and I'm also an author and read books that will give me new perspectives and/or improve my writing. What I found was a pleasant similarity in some of our tropes, imagery, character development.
Character development and plotting is where I feel Jenn Stark shines. Her characters are all unique, engaging, and developed enough to make us care. Quirky is the name of the game for the team that helps her protagonist, Sara Wilde, carry on being who she is and surviving it.
The book series takes place in a magical Vegas, home to regular people, people with special skills/magic, and the immortal members of the Arcana Council, which include gods, devils, magicians and goddesses. In this setting, magical artifacts have worth and Sara Wilde is skilled at getting them, even if she has to travel all the way to Atlantis.
The plot pace is solid, no lulls and lots of action. There is romance, history, adventure and more.
For me, as a writer, I paid special attention to the relationship between Sara and the magician. In my novels, my main character Rachel has an "inner demon" who can speak to her through internal thoughts. Stark did a good job in describing sensations and communication between her two characters, helping the reader understand this other form of speaking/connecting. I also paid attention to the seductive skills of the devil and the magician as my character, Gräfen is an old school Nosferatu and skilled at the Dracule touch. I liked Stark's imagery and concise text in relaying the magic of supernatural relations.
Action from the get go, interesting antagonists and a tarot card reading artifact hunter. Great setup and very interesting heroine.
Book 2 Getting Wilde 3.5 Stars
Chapter one starts with a clandestine meeting in a seedy Paris bar and quickly escalates. The Connected is a great name for the psychics
Armaeus Bertrand the mysterious Magician heads the Arcana council and their search for artifacts. In a fight against SANCTUS and their genocide of the Connected he and Sara are in for a wild and dangerous ride.
Tarot cards play a huge role for Sara and the decisions she makes and adds to the storyline.
Really enjoyed this book and the build up was amazing.
Book 3 Wilde Child 3.5 Stars
Again we start with a bang as we follow Sara on another Indiana Jones adventure.
Armaeus is really starting to get on my last nerve by withholding certain things. I realize he is protecting the council but come on dude.
The mystery of that day in Memphis ten years ago is getting more intriguing and it seems Armaeus wants to know as much as you will. Brody also proves to be a real mystery to.
An ending that will have you anxious to start the next.
Book 4 Born To Be Wilde 4 Stars
We start only a few days after the ending of the last book and Sara is already on another mission.
Fast forward a little and the past is rushing at Sara full speed with some surprising revelations.
Atlantis? Really? This has been thrown out there a few times. And then we have Demons yes capital D demons.
I'm enjoying the series enogh too keep reading it, but can we talk about the Officer Brody relationship? He was a full grown adult pining over a teenager. The power difference is also significant. He should have immediately been relieved she was ok, and let her know her crush was sweet, but it would have been inappropriate to consider. It just feels like the blueprint of that relationship and the relationship with her "mom" leads her to develop attachments to narcissistic people. I feel the characters are real enough that the logistics of it bother me. I genuinely want Nikki to have a real girl talk with her about how these people treat her and how to develop and maintain healthy boundaries.

In this omnibus you get books 0 to 3 of the Immortal Vegas series which follows Sara Wilde in her paranormal quest, if you are like me an like your paranormal creative an unique this is your series, it has a little bit of everything paranormal thrown in as you go to the books. The cast of characters is rich as easy to follow through the books as Sara with her Tarot Cards move through different, challenges, planes and skills development through her journey.
There are 10 books to the whole series and I plan to read them all. Great job from this new to me author, the writing is superb and the research magnificent.
it started out great, the novella at the beginning of the collection held my interest about a woman who uses tarot cards to help find ancient or paranormal artifacts. She has a mysterious man/spirit/psychic helping her. --But as I got into book one of the collection, I was just bored and my mind kept wandering. I wasn't really into the part about why she was using a talisman to prevent Mr. Mysterious from having sex with her? I spent too much time thinking about what I would be reading next, so I just decided to exit out, and move on to another book.
Excellent series! I read the individual books of this excellent series. Sara and the Magician have an unusual growing relationship. There are many characters in play and more are introduced as you read the different books. Yes, you have mysteries, action, humor and a tinkling of romance. You will also meet the bad guys and as the series grows they will change in many ways. I highly recommend this series!
The immortal Vegas series books 0-3 takes us on a wild ride through the world of the archane. Sara's awakening to what is real and what is an illusion is captivating as she completed each quest on her journey. The author paints an interesting spin as we navigate through a unique world she opens up to us. I look forward to reading the next books in this series. I'm hooked.
What a powerful and intriguing story! This should be a must for all supernatural book lovers to read. I wish I was better at expressing my feelings about this series but if you don’t read it it would be a great loss. It is really intense and at times hard to keep up with but well worth it. The intrigue just keeps going over and over till you just can’t put the book down until you have finished it. Read the book! You will not be let down in any shape or form.
Fun is definitely an accurate description for this box set. Complex characters that interact smoothly so that good and evil become a guessing game. No one is presented as a one dimensional bad/good person. Lots of little clues and twists. Las Vegas shines and comes to life as a character just as much as the people. The heroine is fully realized sharing many emotions: fear, confusion, joy and curiosity. I plan go read more.
Thrilled to have come across such an absorbing source of satisfying reading! Thank you, Jenn Stark, for this series. Looking forward to the next six books as soon as I catch my breath from these. Sara Wilde is everything she should be and more. My interest in my Tarot deck is rekindling, too.
Sara Wilde is a "connected" in Las Vegas and a finder of antiquities. Enter the immortals on the Arcane Council and Sara has too many jobs, with danger to her person. 3 books in this set. First one sets the stage and introduces Sara and the characters. The second one furthers the connecteds and in the third one, she actually rescues those she has been searching for.
This is urban fantasy at its best. There's a great heroine who in snarky, strong, lonely, fiercely independent, and psychic. There's also a cool cast of characters who are mysterious and entertaining. The stories are filled with action and intrigue, and lots of magic, both good and bad.
I could not finish this trilogy. I got through the first book, but it was tough. I find the main character annoying. She ran from a situation at 15, and it seems to have stunted her emotional growth. The story was ok. A lot of time developing, then you're just done.
I loved this book. Towards the middle it got a little wordy and I worried I might not want to finish this series. But I persevered and I'm glad I did. You don't want to miss a word. Sara and the Magician/Arameus were HOT together! His abilities to put Sara back together again every time she got hurt was amazing, not to mention the sexual energy surrounding the two. A lot of hot guys, magic, astral travel, and much more! A really good read. Also I want to put out there that I think these books should be made into to a movie, Netflix maybe. Good job to the author.
Found this box set while I was looking on Amazon and love it can't wait to read the rest of the series!! As someone who used tarot cards it's a great way to introduce people to them and the twists and turns in the storyline are brilliant not going to give away anything but definitely recommend them .
Oh my, all of the male characters are so yummy (the ones on the council & Brody). I love Nikki, I'd totally hang with her, she's so much fun! Sara is amazing. Her sense of justice and duty are so overriding, she is one kick-ass babe. Don't miss these amazing books. I can't wait to start on my next book in the series!
Consistently LOL Funny. Excellently written. Well developed, in depth, & suspenseful. Oh, & HOT. And oh so cryptic! Ominous portends of future complications. Just scratching the surface. The more I read of this author, the more enamored I am, the further I'm sucked in to trying to figure out what's going on, or just to hold on for the ride.
This book set certainly gives the reader lots of action packed into three separate, yet connected, stories. With an intriguing cast of characters, interesting plot lines, and well written stories, I give these books a 4 1/2 stars. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Not sure if I liked it or not. Positive rating for the story line and the character development. Plenty of action. Took me a long time to get through the set. Put it down, read something else, and then went back to this. The ‘relationship’ between Sara and the Magician may be the thing bothering me.
This was by far my favourite book in the series. There are more answers to the questions I had in the previous books. The characters are more developed and interesting. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Super great stories of immortals, magic and a lot more. Suspicious characters you can't be sure of whose side the are on. Also one helluva female heroine you'll love.
Wonderfully refreshing series, with twists and turns, magic and tarot cards and a peal-mael of history, mythology, religion, esoteric, erotic, politics, artifact hunting, power games, ggod vs. bad, etc. Sooooooo much fun to read, I am at book 9 and counting.
A heart racing, mouth watering, interstellar journey of determination, discovery and homecoming!!! Sara Wilde reminds me of Jacqueline Carey's Phedre!! Passionate, Stubborn and Fierce.
An interesting take. Loved the tarot influencing and assisting the drive of the story. Fun characters. Great twists and turns. Cannot wait to read the next one! Thank you for writing a great tale from a different perspective ❤️
Got this set free on Bookbub and got totally engrossed in these well written books so much that I bought the rest of them, magic, demons good and bad ones , bit of sex thrown in what more could you want
