It's an age old tale. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, and live happily ever after. Our story went a little differently.
Cara Landry was it for me, until one night everything changed. I made a heinous mistake, and she left.
Now three years later she's returned to town, and I'm determined to win her back. She's mine to love and mine to protect, especially in light of the outside forces that put her life in danger.
Cara needs to understand that she’s my woman, and I’m never letting her go again.
Cara
I met Cash Stone and fell hard, but we didn't live happily ever after, instead he destroyed me. For years I tried to forget him, but things didn't quite work out the way that I planned.
When I'm faced with a dangerous situation it's the Speed Demons, and Cash who come to my rescue. If I want to ensure my safety, I have to rely on the MC and him.
The feelings are still there, and I can't help being drawn to him, but there's no going back for me, not after everything that’s happened.
How do you get over the one person who completes you?
I’m determined to find out.
THIS BOOK IS NOT A STANDALONE. To understand the character's backstory, book one of the series, Bowie should be read. Please check the author's note before reading this book. This book contains cheating.
Cash, and Cara met something like 7 years ago, it was basically love at first sight.
This pair seems to form an interesting blend as a couple. The young woman is embarking on a new journey, starting a new chapter in her life as she pursues her education to become a teacher. Meanwhile, he has a knack for numbers... Cash served as both an accountant and a banker for the club.
They experienced four years of an incredible love that completely fulfilled them. It transformed them into who they are today. It provided them with support, although it wasn't always simple. They faced separation when she went off to college, which introduced some stress, but they both understood it wouldn't last forever; it was merely a brief moment. Until that fateful day.
This book was quite chaotic, but what really kept me engaged was my curiosity about Atlas's book. I also wanted to learn more about Layla and Sunny... Oh, my goodness, I absolutely adore the scene during Christmas dinner when little Sunny made that comment about all the Pussycat…… When you know you know…
This is my side note of Some of the things I disliked about this book
Oh, my goodness, don’t even get me started on Cara! I did like her; she’s quite the firecracker, but at times, her intensity was overwhelming. She could be too aggressive, and her tendency to run away was a bit much. Plus, her constant chatter about therapy felt excessive. I was really tired of that topic, and I just wished she would stop. I’m sorry, but it felt like too much. I get that she was traumatized by what she saw Cash doing, but lord have mercy
I might have enjoyed this installment more, but Cash could be such a jerk at times, even at the end. Trust me, I understand why he behaved the way he did, but his excessive confidence in his own roll was bit e over kill
I’m not going to lie I am excited to read the next installment with Atlas
"I'd given [Cara] years to sort her shit, it was time for her to get with the program. Bitch needed to shut up and listen."
If you like shitty, toxic men and pathetic push-over women, this book is for you. Every female and male character introduced has these traits. The quote above is in the first 12% following the cheating, and of course, they have sex a few pages later. But don't worry, the heroine makes it clear that it "Isn't about love. It's about sex." (She literally just complained about never moving on from him. 🙄) I didn't bother reading past 20%; the heroine will forgive the hero after an apology or some grand gesture despite being an unrepentant asshole the entire time.
I got curious because I heard this book has stealthing which is when a man has a condom on during smexxx but then "stealthily" takes it off. And he does.....😂🤷
i didnt read the reviews before reading this because i usually like to form my own opinion of a book before i go to see what other people thought. I think if you're in a man hating mood or if you want to give up on a happily ever after in books for life, this would be perfect 😂😂
This book is kinda like the premise of barbie and everything America Ferrara says about what women have to go through to EXIST and we have to take it because who gives a fuck what women think right?
He sees some picture that a guy sends to him while drunk of his girlfriend and gets mad at it. The author gives no fucks and doesn't even tell us what the picture is 😬😬😬😬😐😐😐😐😬😬😬😬 so fucking frustrating. Is she with another man kissing him? Is she hugging someone? Who fucking knows. So he goes to his MC = motorcycle club and fucks a club whore (such a nice name for their women 😐😐). He makes sure to say the same things to the club whore as he does to his girlfriend. She walks in on them because she wants to make SUPER sure with her own eyeballs the who and what and how and all the stuffs. 😳🙈💩 And then....and THEN he has the biggest dingalings and tells her its not what it looks like!!!!!!! *commence guffaws guffawing super hard that's what she said* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💩😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💯🤔🤔😐😑😐😐😐😗😗
And then she moves away, but his cheating skanky ass was always the end game because that's what women deserve amirite? She goes back home and he mansplains to her that he thinks that she needs to get over her anger and be back with him. Mmmmhmmm. Ok chat. And then!!!!! she sleeps with him again. There was also a side story how she started seeing the dating then being engaged to the guy who sent cash those 1.5 pixel pictures. She doesn't end up getting married to him but it turns out he raped her best friend and got her pregnant? 😂😂😂🤔 whut? White happening? Actually, I don't wanna know. No pity nope. Nope nope nope.
And then.....and THEN!!!!!! I dnfed because I love myself and don't want to read this shit anymore. I tried it like that freefall ride at six flags and hated it and will never ride that ride ever again amen.
Also, there are some horrible editing mistakes that was distracting a f. You can tell when the arc readers turned into actually public readers 😂😂😂😂😂 it goes from four to three to one and none 🤔 I don't think anyone wants this? Just me? Okur.
Fuck this shit thank you, next.

-He cheats and the book opens with the aftermath of it. -He was led to believe she cheated on him first -3 yrs later she takes him back -He lies again and again and the OW makes multiple appearances -He doesn’t cheat again though -In the end he goes to therapy and she admires the change in him -Why take him back before he worked on himself though? -He is the same dude who cheated on you 🤦🏻♀️ -Body betraying syndrome leads to unplanned (on her side- he sneaked the condom off knowing it’d knock her up) pregnancy
The writing is all over the place. The characters’ are confused. Cash is an idiot. One minute he loves her, the other he is telling her she is selfish because she got engaged to a bad man. I gave up. Not worth my time.
Seriously needed editing, it’s about 200 pages too long. There wasn’t enough story to sustain 500+ pages—it’s all over the place. And if it’s going to be set in Wyoming, please edit it to sound American.
So, going by reviews, this is a me issue, not a book issue, but...
I really, really, really hated Cara the h in this. I thought she was very self absorbed and honestly a bitch. On the bright side it made me go and read Bowie's book and I really enjoyed that one.
Well, the heroine tries, I'll give her that. She knows she's in love with a toxic, self-centered man child.
The heroine has just put two and two together and realizes that her getting pregnant was not the surprise for the stupid H as it was for her.
He was up to something. I could feel it. Xander was a good liar, but not that good. He knew me, but I also knew him, and I knew when he was being shady.
I watched him as he grinned. My heart seemed to curl on itself as he barefaced lied to me.
“Thing is, baby. It fell off.”
The words smashed into my chest. It was like I couldn’t take the pain of the hit because a sob rose in my throat, it was the only way I could expel some of the ache. It was all a big joke to him. I stared at him in disbelief. “What did you do?”
He had a cheeky grin on his face and his eyes were twinkling with laughter. He thought it was funny. He treated me with no care, no respect. It was all about him as usual. I didn’t know whether to punch him, or just curl up into a ball and sob. I told him that I wasn’t taking birth control. He knew I didn’t want to get pregnant, but he’d ignored me.
I can't believe I just read 600 pages of will/they - Won't/they?
Cash and Cara's story had a lot of potential, and second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. I actually only read book 1 because I needed the backstory for this book.
The FMC was written as very indecisive, emotionally unstable, and fragile. Yet,her nickname is "Wildcat", and she's revered as sassy? Didn't add up, and she flipped back and forth the entire duration of the book. It was exhausting being inside her head.
Cash is basically described as "Golden and Gorgeous", but no depth is added to his character, or backstory. His appearance is literally 99% of his personality. The other 1% is his pining for Cara.
*Oh! And at 83% mark...BAM! Surprise Pregnancy!!! 🙄🤦🏼♀️ These folks who can barely communicate without grunting are now going to be parents. Yay!
I also don't really understand what is going on,or how we as readers are supposed to perceive the men in the Speed Demons MC... Especially when they spend zero time on their bikes. It was actually comical after a while. My friend and I were buddy reading these, and we were waiting on an actual motorcycle ride,or at the very least a description of a sled for two books straight.
While they're no longer one percenters in this particular club, it is generally understand that the members of MC's should be tough, fearless and have a strong sense of loyalty and street smarts. The decisions made by the men in the first two books of this series make them look like guileless amateurs. They make really, reeeeeally ignorant decisions. I had to suspend disbelief a LOT when it came to envisioning this group of men as badass bikers with business acumen, and the need for speed. Ultimately, I'm disappointed I spent so much time on these books when nothing really happened. The storyline had a lot of potential, and a good editor could help with the grammatical errors, and "trimming the fat" to get to the meat of the story. I'd read an updated ,and re-edited version in the future.

Cash and Cara are highschool sweethearts who, after being caught cheating break up.
This book isn’t meant to be a standalone as there is a lot you would miss if you haven’t read Bowie. Cash is recently out of jail, he spent 3 years in for assault on Cara’s ex fiancée who is now dead.
Cara had a very hard time getting over Cash and the aftermath of his cheating. She was not ok mentally, but through tons of therapy and medication she is on the mend. But she also wants nothing more to do with Cash.
After Bowie and Laylas wedding Cara and Cash have sex and unbeknownst to Cara, Cash takes the condom off. To her, it’s just sex but Cash wants her to get pregnant so she can’t get away from him. There is some MC drama with a rival club forcing all club members and their affiliates to stay locked down at the club.
Having to share a room together they finally get to hash out their problems and get to the root of why he cheated. On to my review.
WHERE IS THE GROVEL?!? Cash cheated on Cara and even though there was somewhat of an excuse he was such a jerk to her. Not even bringing up the fact that he got her pregnant against her wishes! That’s, like illegal! I wanted to see Cara bring Cash to his knees and make him pay!
Really appreciated the mental health representation and that they named the baby after their therapist lol.
Loved the interactions between all the club members, they were so funny! Poor John having to deal with all his idiot sons.
Best unforgiving h ever. Boy, does she make him work for it. Can’t put my finger on what was missing in their story but it’s not a 4 star for me, despite having one of the best character - H - and relationship growths in any cheating book I’ve read in years.
Notes: Great caught-in-the-act-smackdown scene ruined by body betraying syndrome 🤨
There is just so much back and forth. It feels like you're going over and over the same thing between Cara and Cash. Yes he cheated but goodness talk already and get it over with. It's just long and stretched out.
I'm taking a small time out from the underlying series thread with Cash and Cara's book.
The story does contain a cheating scene which I know will be a trigger for some, and I don't want those people who are fans of the series who are affected, to lose the thread.
Rest assured it will continue in book three.
I hope you all love Cash and Cara's story as much as I do.
What I liked: I liked the side characters especially Bowie and Layla. It was great when Layla called Cara(h) out on her shit and how she told Cash and Bowie that they were basically idiots about keeping thing from her and Cara. I liked how Cara’s dad was on her side. Cash finally going to counseling and later them both doing couple counseling made the book more realistic and I was able to see them actually making it as a couple. Lastly, I’m glad the ow got what she deserved.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how immature both Cash(H) and Cara were at times. Cash getting Cara pregnant on purpose and doing it again just showed how much he didn’t learn from the first time doing it. Him keeping things from her also got to be annoying especially when he is trying to get Cara back. Cara had every reason to be mad about the ow still being a part of the club and him knocking her up. Cara annoyed me with all her wanting Cash one minute and not wanting to be with him the next. Her bbs really got old quick and her refusing to talk about it just made her look immature to me. I think I just got tired of all the bickering and the lack of communication about the serious stuff throughout most of the book (it made the story drag). Lastly, I felt like the MC was really weak with the way they handled the other MC (they were all talk with no action).
***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: Cheating. h walks in on the H cheating with club wh*re (ow has been trying to get with H and h hated her be of this). H goes to jail for beating up the guy who sent him false pictures of the h with other man which was one of the reasons he cheated. h gets engaged to same man because no one told her why H cheated. H gets out, stops the wedding and the h runs away. The h comes back for her best friends wedding (h’s best friend is marrying H’s brother). H and h have sex. H takes the condom off without the h knowing. h is followed by the rival MC and the club goes on lockdown making the h stay with H in his room. While staying at the club the h finds out that the H didn’t tell her that the ow is still around and is claiming that she is pregnant by the H’s brother which upsets the h. A lot of back and forth goes on between the H and h. The club finds out that the ow has been working for the bad MC and she is actually pregnant with one those guys and not the brother. That same MC causes issues and try’s taking the h but they exchange the ow for the h. Things calm down and the h goes to her parents house since the H doesn’t want to change and doesn’t want to go to therapy. H realizes he needs to change or he will lose the h and starts to see a therapist (the same therapist that h sees). H and h agree to see each other and H finally takes the h to the therapist. They start couples therapy. H let’s her know why he did what he did and proves that he has changed. HEA with her getting pregnant again with him taking her choice away from her.
Descriptive Sex: Yes
Final thoughts: This was an ok book. I definitely will go back to read Layla and Bowie’s book especially since I liked them the most in this book.

Whew! The ON PAGE cheating happens fairly quickly in this story, and man, it’s BRUTAL. And gutting. The skank whore smirking and then getting her ass kicked was beautiful to witness.
The evil/manipulative/slutbag OW added many infuriating feels. The dudes in this story were pathetically gullible. This made for some excellent soapy drama through their actions, and kept the entire story entertaining.
For someone nicknamed as “Wildcat” she sure is the most pathetic and weak doormat with a strong case of body betraying syndrome and a brain smaller than an atom.
The first 20% was decent. The drama unfolded and I thought it was off to a good start. The discovery of the betrayal was on point, the emotional fallout was the right level of angsty melodrama, and the sh!tshow their lives fell into was crazy. The MMC went to jail and the FMC was engaged to the villain of the first book of the series and was clueless about it all. Great life choices there and they haven’t reached the age of 25 yet, lol.
But so far for the last 33%, this book has tanked! I’m at the 63% mark and every conversation between all the characters is pointless. The men are forever talking about their d!cks, that the author even mentioned it in said useless convos. The relationship between the main couple has NOT progressed and now the FMC is preggers and what’s absurd is she doesn’t even know it! The MMC has told three other people, the OW is now the old lady of his brother and there is a sub plot of trafficking that’s going on that is so underdeveloped it’s just as pointless as all the rest I’ve mentioned so far.
Also, the author has terrible writing when doing accents, that I honestly don’t know what accent she is trying to describe. It doesn’t help when there are so many grammatical errors that you can’t tell if it’s an error or an accent. And lastly, this book has so much history of back characters in it that I can’t follow what’s going on because it’s mostly referencing past relationships and events.
I am so over this story.
76% UPDATE
This author uses descriptions like, “nip, nip, nip, said my a$$hole, or they have an itch under their skin when they don’t like something or the men (the MEN) released a squeak for every moment when a shock is revealed. Wtf is wrong with this author?!? It’s gross!
89% UPDATE
All of the MMC’s feelings are in his a$$hole. It’s forever “nipping” at him for everything! Disgusting. Also, this entire book this couple hasn’t been together. This couple hasn’t worked on anything together. They haven’t solved there problems together they are barely sharing a pregnancy together. At this point in any story the romantic couple should be showing how they are moving forward together as they had ALREADY gotten over the hill of their problems, but nope. The FMC helped herself off page at the beginning of the book and the MMC is helping himself (finally) also off page at 89% through this sh!t story. And guess what, he is still pointing fingers at other people. Smdh. If this book ends in an HEA I won’t believe it. No work was put in as a couple.
FINAL UPDATE
I was right they do get an HEA and it was mostly off page. The entire book was wasted on unnecessary drama that leads to more off page character resolutions and the last 15% was this couple’s abbreviated romance. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money or time on this story. The beginning gave you the gut punch of catching a cheater but after that the author had no direction and she was all surface in regards to whatever the subplot was supposed to be because I honestly don’t know what it was. Was it the trafficking, was it the rivalry between the clubs, was it all the drama around the OW/clubwh0re and Kit situation, what?? Was it about the addictions of the younger brother???
Besides that, this author is gross! The a$$ nipping aside, in the epilogue the author had the FMC chase the MMC around after a bj with a mouth full of cum begging for a kiss. It. Was. Disgusting! I like all things dirty but this was NOT that. It was simply gross.
The only good character was atlas and while he does have a book, I already know that he gets his HEA. So why would I read that?? The one character I want to know more about is Kit but I don’t think he will get a book and I believe this author doesn’t have the writing chops to do his character justice. Especially as she tried to make this story more complicated then it actually was and didn’t follow through with any of her plots. So if Kit gets a book later idk if I would even bother with it as this author is simply not strong enough to hold my interests. Good luck.
The book is very well written. The psychological insight is very good. The emotional and psychological growth of both characters especially the hero is very believable, not too sudden and not too easy. There is not double standard. The heroine is not celibate during three years of separation, and the hero is celibate. There is a real explanation for his cheating, not shoved under the carpet or justified. There is a lot of angst, a lot. So I’m giving it two stars. It could have been better. The hero cheats on the heroine because he received some texts with pictures of her having sex with another man, someone they both were friends with. He is quite drunk so he’s not able to realize they are faked. The heroine sees him having sèx with ow and leaves him. He realizes his mistake and hits the other man, ending in jail for three years. The heroine almost marries om, who was the one responsible for the pictures. He is also a rapist, and got her bff pregnant drugging her and raping her. It was a bit messy. The hero basically admits he thought heroine was breaking up with him and was already with om, so he had sex with the club girl. When he’s out of jail he would like to move on with her again but the heroine doesn’t want to. Sadly she suffers from severe TBS, and has sex with him as soon as they meet again. And he takes the condom off so he can impregnate her. This was awful. The heroine suffered a lot when they broke up, she’s depressed and suicidal, and om helped her to recover. The truth, that is, om with club girl planned to frame the heroine so om could have the heroine and ow could have the hero, is explained and discovered only in the end. I didn’t like that the heroine was so shallow. She kept having sex and sleeping with the hero but she rejected him, basically using him. He was a child, not able to admit his faults and not able to do anything to change his ways. But in the end, when she eventually gets better, and decides they are wrong or each other, he has therapy and realizes why he did what he did. Of course in the end he gets her again. I found the book believable. Both characters are faulty, the heroine is too dependent on him and he is avoiding his responsibilities and unable to see beyond what he himself wants, but I appreciated that both went to therapy and admitted their faults. The cheating was explained and explored. I hate when there’s a cheating and no explanations because the only way to avoid making the same mistakes is to understand well the reasons why you did what you did. And about cheating there’s a strong prejudice that boys will be boys, that men needs sex, that it happens just because. There’s no thing like just because. And here the hero realizes he was angry with his mother who had just dumped his father because she had another man, and that he was feeling unsure about the heroine feelings because she was at college and didn’t spend so much time with him. He admits he took her for granted and he was sure she would have forgiven him. Both grow up and mature in the end. He really loves her, he never wanted anyone else even if she wasn’t celibate. I appreciated it. The angst is high, the feelings are very well explored. A pity for the excessive TBS, that makes the heroine look like a sex starved woman, and a very insecure person who is not able to know what she wants.
3.5 stars. I liked this slightly more than the first one only because I preferred the FMC here. Even though she was a brat who put herself on a pedestal. The H Cash was dense with a capital D. He was ok, but there is cheating, so pass if that upsets you. Cash was selfish and self centered. Cara was selfish and self centered, so it made for a angsty, but annoying read. Both need therapy. Both need to learn self sacrifice and stop playing the victim which these two did really well. The side characters most definitely made this book better. Layla is slowly growing a backbone. Atlas is a hilarious character, and this author knows how to give comical relief at the right time. It was funny. A big complaint was it was too damn long. The constant inner monologue and reflections that just became repetitive I had to skim. It's the same thing over and over again. Both characters by the end had personal grow.
The best thing about this book was Cara's violence. I'm not sorry 😂. She beat the shit out of the skank April and I enjoyed every encounter. She even gave it good to Cash. The whole cheating could have been avoidable if H actually took accountability of how he was feeling. Cara was just too young for the intensity of this relationship. Definitely worked when they were older and wiser and less selfish. Overall enjoyed it for the drama llama that it was.
1.5 stars and I really want a refund but I read it so I can’t
WTAF did I read? Jumbled mess with zero depth just an immature cheating a$$hole, a wimp h and happy ending. The cheating? I was confused about why ~ pictures right? He saw pictures of her doing what? With who? What happened? She got a pic of him and the whore, well that was a fact but everything else???? I have no idea! Hell, even their "meeting" is a mystery, he saw her and years later they are dating.
The book needs work, a serious editor would have told the author to slow down, explain the scenes better and cut out some of the other unnecessary scenes.
Skimmed and speed read .I was sleep deprived the H ,h and story waz confusing on its own merits, but may not be as lacking as I initially perceived....? Plan to read book one, then may re read book 2 proper....
This one was so much better than I hoped it would be. I fucking loved it. Cash made me want to hit him a few times, but I'm glad it all worked out in the end.
Well, first thing, he's an asshole And He's a bigger asshole😅 But I liked him by the end
am not a big fan of cheating books But I read this book in one setting Is it the greatest MC story or even one of the top ones? NO was the writing captivating? not precisely (with a soft voice) and there were many grammar mistakes (but I really don't mind those a lot) Character developments? Little for Cara and maybe at the end for Cash Triggering issues? HELLUVA A LOT *Cheating *OW Drama *Su!c!de attempt *forced pregnancy (not rape, he just didn't wera protection and didn't tell her) *Lying (a lot of lies actually)
Would I recommend this book to others? Probably not my first choice and only to readers who like hurt/groveling tropes
So why did I like and rate this book 4/5🌟🌟🌟🌟?
1- I liked how he groveled practically from the beginning till the end considering he's done a lot of fcked sh!t that would never pass in real life. But hey! it's the MC world and men are a$$holes
2- and most importantly, I loved the concept that LOVE, EVEN SOUL MATE LEVEL OF LOVE, SOMETIMES IS NOT ENOUGH you can't go about life thinking that love conquers all, and all you need is love! And you Can't simply forgive in the name of love Yes it's a strong incentive! But if its your only incentive then you are doomed for a failed relationship
Cash didn't understand this He thought his and Cara's love would allow him a green pass. So good on Cara for not succumbing to him (though she couldn't resist her desires, I mean who would? He's Yummy) and gave him a good slap both physically and emotionally until the Big Baby MC Moron understood that he had to change and he needed help doing it
3- Also loved how the MC brothers were not always on his side like we see in other similar books. They stood up with Cara against him and gave him hell for treating her bad
4-plus, the ratio of Romance to MC related events was adequate. Usually one tops the other. But it was balanced her.
It would have been a 4.75 except for a thing that really got on my nerves A thing that I always see in MC books "Every time the MC ladies (Ol'ladies) got together, all they talk about is seggs, big d!cks, fcking, and drilling over the men! Seriously? That is all what these women think off! No intelligent conversation at all!
Okay, so I don’t usually write reviews but I just had to here.
DNF after 4 chapters I think. I just couldn’t. It made me so angry.
I didn’t want to give this book a chance when I knew that the MMC cheated on the FMC from the first book in the serie but I thought that I would give it a try since I liked the first one. Boy I should have listened to myself 😂
So we start the book by the description of the cheating, the aftermath of it and then the present time.
He destroyed her by cheating and what does she do the FIRST freaking day she sees him after 4 years ? Yup, they have sex but it’s supposed to be ok because for her it’s just sex even if it’s with the guy who broke her heart.
But it’s not the worst ! He behave like it’s her fault they are not together today even though HE cheated on her and she caught him. And when she tells him to wear a condomn, what does he do ? He take it off during sex without asking her and without admiting to her afterward because he wants her pregnant… because in his f*cked up mind that will mean that she will be in his life forever and would come back to him.
I just couldn’t keep going knowing that despite it all the FMC would eventually forgive him. We see enough cheating, selfish ass*oles in real life, no need to read about one. I knew the cheating would be hard for me to look past but I tried and the author think it’s a good idea to write that ??? No, just no.
Now I’m angry and I will need a golden retriever MMC in my next book to calm myself down 😂
No excitement, danger or a plot apart from Cara hating/loving Xander.
This book was really bad. Plots that didn’t make sense, and the Cara and Xander show that drones on and on. Yes Xander cheated on her, three years previously. Yes he was a d…head for not asking her about the photo of her supposedly cheating on him. But she punishes him for nearly the whole book, the other part of the book she’s having sex with him and giving him hope that they are back together. I don’t condone cheating, but if you decide to try again, then you can’t keep throwing it in their face. Yes I have been there and yes it’s really hard.
So the plot…. There isn’t really one. Cara has come back to her home town, and she’s in danger from a rival Mc. The big bad Mc does really scary stuff, like following her while she’s driving. So the whole club goes into lockdown and the Xander and Cara show begins. The rival Mc don’t do anything till right near the end and it’s over really fast. The rest of the book is about them.
The writing seemed a lot worse in this book. Spelling mistakes and ridiculous plot lines that just wouldn’t happen. For example. Xander takes the condom off during sex, to try to get Cara pregnant. (See he’s a d…head!) She doesn’t notice that he: A) Takes the condom off. B) It takes a couple of days to get rid of it completely, and she doesn’t notice at all???
There are parts of this book that made me laugh. That’s why it’s such a shame that it’s so bad.
The potential was there. I'm on a second chance romance kick lately, and I don't mind cheating as long as there's actually a grovel.
The men in this MC are stupid and spoiled. That's it. Every single one of them except for Abe. The entitlement from the Stone boys makes me want to throw things.
I'm done with this series for now. I enjoyed the subplot with the rivals and trafficking, but the romance and the individual men aren't making me want to read any more of it.
Also, the MC aren't acting much like MCs except for being man whores. Where's the bikes? Where's the charity rides? What other businesses do they have besides the bar and the auto shop (and almost supermarket)? 🤔 What are they doing for the community?
It's rare for me to finish a book that I feel this way about.
I liked Layla and Bowie's book, and was intrigued by why Cash would have cheated on Cara (as was referred to numerous times in that book) when he reportedly loved her so much. That's why I wanted to read Cash and Cara's story.
In reading this, however, I was disappointed. Didn't really like either MC. Didn't like all their freaking issues, didn't like their fighting which is I guess supposed to equal passion, didn't like the extended need for therapy for both, just really didn't like much of this one at all, except for maybe John.
Cash and Cara deserve each other, but I'm not so sure that's a good thing.
