Draco has seen and done terrible things to protect those he cares about, Harry Potter most of all. He has made a vow for the sake of his beloved godfather that will test him to the very core. But even he is unprepared for the challenges the war will provide him and those he loves, as he must finally confront the one he fears the most in the world: Bellatrix Lestrange.
On a quest to find the final Horcruxes and destroy them, Draco's path will go awry, and take him on a journey back to where everything began. To the truth of his past. To the legacy of the Daughters' Mirrors and their joining. To the Mirror of Ecidyrue.
I loved it but the reveal was so anti climatic imo, everybody gave me so much whiplash with their emotions changing so rapidly out of no where (same for Prisoner of Nurmegaurd too)

I only took some sporadic notes as I read this one. Overall: seriously awesome series, but far from perfect.
Notes: - Dantanian had me on EDGE. I did not know what to expect from him, he's such a loose cannon. I didn't know if he'd become a villain or what, and I was worried that he'd drive a wedge between Draco and Harry after all that flirtation. - The dueling scene between Harry and Dantanian LMAO - Absolutely lost my SHIT when - The flow of the story was a bit lackluster. The mission from Dumbledore which took up so much of the Deathly Hallows and was so significant and included a SICK Gringotts heist was SERIOUSLY reduced and **MILD SPOILERS?** only amounted here to a single destroyed horcrux and the acquirement of the sword of Gryffindor. - Lowkey disappointed no one learned about - Ok but is fucking SICK. A perfect ending for Draco.
I finished this book on my flight from Calgary to Japan :)
Second time read: Last year I finished this series before leaving for Japan. This year I started it after returning from Japan!
Still 4 stars. I have some of my grievances described at the end, but here are my general notes!
- Oh the drama is DELICIOUS. Just everything in general, but Bellatrix revealing that Draco killed Theo and then Harry dumping Draco for lying? DECADENT. - Absolutely mind-bogglingly frustrating how nothing ever works out. I swear, every plan goes to shit in the most spectacular way possible. - Ron worrying about getting in trouble with his mom in the middle of a war is so real. - I feel like Millie's outburst wasn't as bad as I feared? Now I'm scared something more happens later. - AGGGH THE CONSTANT BETRAYALS. Draco going out on his own to Malfoy Manor is so fucking stupid. Dude never learns. How many times must his friends forgive him for all the insane and selfish shit he does? - GUESS WHO'S BACK. BACK AGAIN. As soon as Draco left for Malfoy Manor, I remembered what happens! Well, mostly. Like Dantanian showing up and busting them out. Mostly because those really vivid scenes are easier to brand into your brain. Also, love how flirty Dantanian is to Draco and how jealous is later makes Harry XD - Stoppp-- how sad Harry was after learning about casting Sectumsempra on Draco T_T He's too good. - Draco taking it up himself to oversee and, when necessary, physically stop advancements in the Gilderoy/Snape relationship are abjectly hilarious. I'm not a huge fan of the ship, but watching it bloom into fruition, however awkwardly, from the sidelines is bizarrely entertaining. - LMAO All the students watching Harry face off against Dantanian. I LOVE THE JEALOUSY. - HAHAHA Hungover Draco interrupting SNAPE AND GILDEROY TOGETHER IN BED??! Also why am I basically reading this for the first time i stg. - I cannot believe we don't get a scene of Draco being introduced to his little sister in front of everyone and being anxious and clueless about babies and getting laughed at by everyone as a result. - I can't explain how much it annoys me, Dantanian Noir going as Daniel Shaw. Absolutely disgusting. I think Dorian never even learned his real name?? And Dantanian just keeps telling everyone he's Daniel Shaw. And all the Order call him "Shaw." Amd I just hate it so much. - The final battle is AWESOME. Love how we get to see everyone duking it out. - Oh, shit. Voldemort got the Elder Wand from Dante. How the heck are we gonna gaslight girlboss gatekeep our way out of this one? Really good though, because suddenly we're no longer sure that Harry will come back to life. - I love the more mature element to the series, with the students talking about sexual activities, and the Death Eaters using truly awful insults, and Voldemort being kind of gross, because it just makes him that much more hateful. Although I do like the sort of false gentlemanly-ness of his original character. And although him boasting about getting Draco "on his knees" in front of the entire hall had me recoiling more than Draco himself. AND THEN IT HAPPENS TWO MORE TIMES. LIKE, SIR. PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT DEFILING A TEENAGER IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE GODDAMN SCHOOL. - Okay, so does Fred Weasley have a crush on Dantanian or what? XD - I love Draco visiting everyone before he dies and saying his goodbyes without saying goodbye. It's so sweet and heartbreaking. Also, it's kind of genius having the battle moved up a day, because then we get to have all these sad goodbyes from Draco in the bittersweet aftermath of the war. And the battle was naturally moved up a day because the Death Eaters who have already taken Hogwarts were planning on attacking Xaphan. It's alllll coming together. - Actually love the Draco's confession scene with Severus. It feels so fulfilling. - Huh. I thought I recalled a scene of Draco dying dramatically in front of everyone. Damn. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, THOUGH. DRACO'S BIG DRAMATIC SACRIFICE JUST GOES UNNOTICED??! THE EXPLANATION FOR WHY HE HAS BEEN ACTING THE WAY HE HAS FOR THE PAST YEAR IS JUST DISREGARDED???! Aw, HELL NO. I think Harry should have woken up after Draco left-- because Draco is always abandoning him in the middle of the night, and for once, it shouldn't have worked-- and located him on the Marauder's Map. Seeing Draco in Severus' roo. at such a late hour would worry him, so he would have immediately gone to check it out, and he'd SEE WHAT WENT DOWN. And then he'd be mad at Draco a bit, and they'd have another heart to heart, and Draco would be so so sorry, and Harry would finally understand all of Draco's distance, and it would be the cherry on top of their reconciliation and formation of a good and healthy relationship filled with mutual understanding. - Draco asking if he was "a pretty dragon" LMAO - Draco's chosen term of endermeant for Harry is just "green eyes"?? This reminds me of one bad Drarry fanfiction I read...
Two things that bother me: Dantanian is under-utilized, and I feel like we don't see enough of Draco talking about his past with everyone. We had like, one chapter devoted to his friends reading his old notebooks, and Dantanian is just a Deus Ex Machina.
Okay, there's a bit more that bothers me... I think a pitfall of this series is that too many things are solved too easily; and while sometimes the "fixing" Draco does with his knowledge of the future leads to some other sort of issue, for the most part, the plotline of each book can fall a bit flat. I think the last book in particular feels a bit bland, because the exciting moments from the Deathly Hallows-- breaking into Gringotts and the Ministry of Magic and getting caught in Malfoy Manor-- either don't happen at all or are speed-runned by Draco alone. Which leads to another issue: Harry is sidelined so often, he doesn't give off as much main character energy as he should. While I often love it-- everything being about my boy Draco-- Harry is the Chosen One and should feel a bit more important than he appears in these books. Nothing is ever about Harry, really. More things should be about Harry! We don't get much at all about his connection to Voldemort, especially while they're destroying horcruxes. Anyway, this is still a really, really impressive series. I think all the additions, like with the Talon Wand and Dantanian and Draco's relationship with Severus, Hermione, Luna, etc., are really well-developed.
But anyway, I can forgive all this. What I can't completely forgive is not having more scenes with Draco taking care of-- or simply interacting with-- Lucia. And not LETTING EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT DRACO'S SACRIFICE. smh. Just... sigh.

I will remember this series forever. There was so much magic and history in this! And it was free! Starbrigid wrote this for everyone to read with no gain. Fanfic writers deserve the world. With the ending of book 6, i didn't know how the author would resolve everything, and then it all just flowed! The ending fit perfectly. I knew Dante would save Draco. It bothered me in the beginning, how affectionate he was, but he came through. I can't believe this series exists and I had no idea. Fanfiction is magic. I mean, this series is beyond anything I've ever thought of. Draco gets a second chance and he did SO much good.
Severus found love with Gilderoy Lockhart! That part still freaks me out a bit but I'm so happy he didn't die. Draco has a baby sister. Harry Potter has a family! Draco actually got to be a dragon, which was literally his dream. Luna is still my favourite. Sirius is alive and thriving with Remus. All of it was truly epic in a way that should be honoured. I might have to learn binding and gift this series.

This series was absolutely amazing! It's one of my favorite series of all time. Will be reading it again and again. Hope the author writes more books because I will be reading them.
2nd read - this series was just as good the 2nd time around. I honestly think I love it as much as HP which is saying a lot.
After my fourth read I can officially say that this series is just as good as HP.
This whole series was lovely and I really enjoyed it. The last book was a bit much for me at times, but also I kind of understand because the whole Dantanian line was probably quite difficult to handle. I personally liked it, I feel that it gave more space for Draco's character growth and I was very pleased with the ending.
This is a review for the entire series, but my star ratings stand for each individual book.
I really enjoyed the first four books in the series for the enemies to friends to lovers trope and for the time-travel aspect. I ended up taking a month-long break halfway through the fifth book to concentrate on school and then found it difficult to get back into the book. I blame this partly on myself and the circumstances, but also on the fact that the fifth and sixth books get slower and lose direction. I really liked the side story about Dantanian and Dorian and how all the little details came together in the seventh book. Everything suddenly made sense. I was satisfied with the open ending. I'd give the entire series 4.5 stars.
We reached the end of the road, and I wish there were more books to read. At least one, or an epilogue. This is one of the best reimagining of Harry Potter.
I can’t express what I’m feeling now that I read them all. I am in awe of this writer and their passion for this story. It is a time travel story, a Drarry story, and the tale of 4 dark lords. Making you wish this was canon.
ok i officially read the 1.2million word rewrite thats longer than the original series, and i read it in less than a month. i’ll take that as an achievement. and that’s why i’m logging it on goodreads, even if i usually try to abstain from logging fanfic. overall, fantastic and INSANE lore and worldbuilding throughout the series. i enjoyed it a lot.
4 Estrellas 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Dante salva a Draco. Amazing.
I am glad J.K. Rowling isn’t so talented. Because people like the person who wrote this fanfic is doing an amazing job taking her story and doing it again but BETTER.
This book is… everything you can dream of if you want the story of Harry Potter written properly like it should be.
This story should not be a fanfic. It should be real books that you can buy in a bookshop. And I would pay for them. FOR ALL OF THEM.
the scream i scrumpt when i finished this... HOLY CRAP BRO HOLY FREAKING CRAP
it would be a 2/5 honestly the writing got pretty shoddy at points but im too pleased with myself that i could guess some of the main plot points that ill give it +1 for boosting my inference-making ego.
hooooooooly crap this series truly was something else... holy crap.
I thought the ending would be sad because the warnings said that the main hero would die When I found this kind of ending, I kept screaming until my mother finally thought I had gone crazy I can comfortably say that this series of books is a hundred times better than the original
I can't believe I read this entire series! It was fabulous, and I really got into the characters! I was honestly surprised that I enjoyed a gay fanfic, but it was so awesome! I might even read the other Draco series eventually. I loved the ridiculous ending with the dragon 🐲
DNF
