I love this authors writing romance and mystery BUT I am so sick of her heroes😔They are all cowards and leave the one they supposedly love for YEARS because of a trauma the h went through…he freakin leaves her when he is needed most by her and breaks her heart💔Of course he doesn’t stay celibate and screws a lot of OW just for the h to see evidence of on magazines throughout the years😡But it’s ok because he keeps the h necklace in his pocket all those years because she is so important to him🙄
Grae and Caden are best friends and she LOVES him at age 15,16
He is grieving the death of his baby sister, passed from cancer
Grae and Caden go on a hike together because she loves to be there for him and she ends up almost dying because she didn’t know she is diabetic and passes out on hike. Caden has to carry her back for help
Grae almost doesn’t survive but does and now manages Type 1 diabetes
Caden takes off to NY and ditches the h when she is sick and needed him💔
He is so distraught that he almost loses her so I guess his dick starts to fall into all the OW to help the pain😡(I’m being dramatic but it pisses me off)

Are we surprised I'm obsessed with this book??? No, because I'm obsessed with everything Catherine writes. BUT THIS ONE SO GOOD.
I literally could not put this book down from the moment I started to the moment I finished. I looooove a friends to lovers romance where they were *almost* something more in the past but never got the chance. That's what happened with Grae and Caden and Grae has been harboring hurt feelings ever since Caden left years ago. Now he's back, though, and Grae is forced to pretend to be dating him to get a creepy guy to leave her alone. Caden is shocked Grae wants to fake date, but he realizes this could also get his dad off is back when it comes to settling down. The two start fake dating, but being close to one another is dangerous territory and things heat up fast. They have such a deep connection and history and I absolutely loved how they were around each other. Grae wanted to hate Caden so much and Eden wanted to keep Grae at arm's length because of his past. But they just couldn't resist each other.
We get the suspense I know and love so much from Catherine, and this one definitely had me on the edge of my seat and SHOCKED during the reveals. Someone is coming after Grae, so there is some forced proximity thrown in here with Grae and Caden, which I just ate up like candy. And the spice!? YESSSSS. And since Grae is the only sister in a family of 5, I loved seeing all of her brothers so much and watching them be so protective and caring for her.
I just love this series so much and every book has been so amazing. You HAVE to pick up Grae's book when it comes out!!!

Another solid installment in this series, though I had a little more trouble with the FMC. Grae had a lot of likeable qualities, but she was being an idiot when it came to her safety. I get wanting to make sure you keep control in your life even when crazy things are happening, but you can't ignore obvious threats because it's not convenient for you.
And again, there were several threats going on at once. I don't think that will ever not give me whiplash. These stories could be so much more grounded if the time was taken to really focus on one threat and flush that out instead of trying to cram in all kinds of other shit too.
But the relationships in CC's books are always enjoyable to read, and I'm pretty stoked about the last two. Let's go!

ALL. THE. FEELS. Catherine Cowles took my heart and ran off with it with this book. I’m not sure I want it back because I’m sure she’ll take it again with the next one.
This series is tearing down all my walls. Get ready for an emotional review.
"She has this pull. Makes you want to lean in and get as close to that light as possible. Makes you want to do better. Deserve her."
I knew I’d relate to Grae. She has Type 1 diabetes, just like me. A lot of what she describes are things I went through after my diagnosis and, like me, she had to overcome so much and show people she is more than her condition. I loved her in the previous books, and now all I want is to be her best friend.
Also, "hypo-hangover" is a very accurate description! Thank you, Catherine!
"A darkness that hadn’t been there before. But it was a part of him, and I couldn’t help but love it the same way I loved the rest of him. It just made those glimmers of his light shine that much brighter."
Caden is incredible. He may be afraid, he may have his walls up, but he loves with everything he has, and he would take a bullet for the ones he loves. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and my own heart broke for him a few times. And… if you look up “pining” in the dictionary, you may just find him there.
"I think I’ve got something that can solve both of our problems."
"What?"
"Be my girlfriend."
If you read the previous books in the series, you know there’s something going on between them. I knew it would be rooted in their past, and I love childhood love stories and that second chance feeling they give me… But I wasn’t ready for these two.
I don’t think they were ready either. Especially when they decide to fake a relationship to get some people off their backs.
"Eyes on me, Gigi. There’s no one here but you and me."
There’s always been something between them, but I didn’t realize how special it was. For how it all could have happened in the past but didn’t. For how meaningful they were in each other’s lives from the get-go. For their special place and moments that meant so much.
For how broken they both became with the distance that came between them.
"How do you see everything?"
"Because I’ve known you almost all my life."
These days, they mostly push each other’s buttons all the time, but it doesn’t come from annoyance or hate. It comes from what could have been. And they both carry the ghosts of the past.
But this fake relationship is about to change that.
"I thought you wanted to murder me."
"Murder’s my love language, remember?"
As with all books I love, it’s the little things for me. How much she cares about him and how much she wants to shelter him from a family that only causes him pain. How much he wants to protect her from everything and is willing to do whatever it takes for her.
How much they don’t see the feelings between them until they’re forced to.
"Things are replaceable. You aren’t. I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you."
Now, Grae is being targeted by someone. Her life may be on the line, and that someone clearly doesn’t want them together. And Caden is there for her in every way he can be. And what starts as a truce of sorts quickly turns into a firestorm of feelings, which they can’t deny anymore.
"Because that was always what she’d been for me. The one person who could help me find my way."
Caden has his walls up because he’s already lost so much, and he knows he wouldn’t be able to cope with losing anymore. But she makes everything better—she always has—even when she doesn’t even know it. There was never anyone else.
"Because you sometimes look at me like you expect me to fall apart in front of your eyes. I didn’t break when I got Type 1. Or when you walked out of my life and broke my damn heart."
And Grae is so strong, it’s inspiring. She rises above her condition and becomes a force to be reckoned with. But there’s always a place for him in her life—there always has been, throughout the years they’ve been apart.
Caden is the first person to ask her what she wants to do; she’s the first person to be there for him through whatever comes their way.
"I’ve wanted you for longer than I ever should’ve. I tried to hide it, to shove it down. But only one person has ever owned me. You."
Her brothers are something else, and they had me laughing at times. I love how thick they are and how much they care about each other. I loved seeing past couples in the series and how in love they are.
But that, and even the whole suspense arc, doesn’t take away from Caden and Grae’s story. If anything, it makes it even better.
"Because you’ve always been that glimmer of light for me. A beacon of hope. Even when I didn’t want you to be."
There’s a feeling of something inescapable in the book, like they were always meant to be. Wherever life took them, you just knew they would somehow find their way back to each other.
And the people threatening their happiness have no power against the love they share.
That’s what got to me the most.
"Thanks for holding on for me."
"Thanks for being worth it."
There’s an old(-ish) song that came to mind as I finished the book. It has a line that says, "And the smiles, they came easy ‘cause of you."
Everything in their lives is easier when they’re together because, together, they can take on anything.

idk i didn’t really vibe with this one like i did with the others in the series. i am so pumped for the next book though, broody roan is gonna make such a good MMC so at least there’s that <3

I say i hate Catherine Cowles books because of the recycled plot in different series then continue to read and cry over that recycled plot- romantic “suspense” will always be comforting🫠❤️🩹

This whole series is a five-star series to me!! I am obsessed and this book kept me on my toes. Catherine Cowles cannot do wrong. She is the queen of romantic suspense. She brought such a new twist to some of my fav tropes! I couldn’t put this book down. Brother’s Best Friend and Fake Dating. I was SOLD just from that.
Its so hard to pick a favorite couple in this series. I think Nash is still my number one. Caden is a close second. He was so protective over Grae. He would drop whatever he is doing to be there for her, and I LOVED THAT. I loved that he wasn’t afraid to face her four older brothers and claim her as his girlfriend, even after all the history they have. Grae is such a badass and has been through a lot.
I will always recommend this series and one of my favorites for 2023. Overall, this was such a good small-town romance, and I loved the mystery aspect to all of Catherine Cowles books. Makes you keep wanting more and more. I didn’t see that plot twist at the end!
I can’t wait to get Roan and Aspens’s story in October. I am counting down the days!!

Although it seems like I fell in love with her first story a week ago, this is my nineteenth romantic suspense from this talented wordsmith, and I think I’ve finally caught on. Except just when I'm sure I’ve figured out “who done it" Cowles tosses in another twist that keeps me on my toes and devouring her words late into the night.
Cedar Ridge is a small town, and many who live there have known each other their entire lives. Grae Hartley and Caden Shaw had grown up being friends. He was her brother's best friend, and her family was more family to him than his own. But everything changed when Caden left town for years.
Now Caden is back in Cedar Ridge, and Grae does her best to avoid him. She's less than happy with the way he ghosted out of her life when she thought they’d always be friends. Except when the guy she dated briefly doesn’t get the friend-zone memo and Grae declares Caden her boyfriend in front of said guy, Caden jumps at the opportunity for a fake relationship that can benefit him as well as Grae.
But someone isn’t happy with this new relationship, fake or not, and he’ll stop at nothing to break up Caden and Grae and have her for himself.
There are so many things I love about this romance – small-town setting, strong family dynamic, found family element, terrific suspense with a twist, and no third-act breakup. Then add the friends to hate to happily ever after, the strong heroine in Grae, and Caden's overcoming so many challenges, and this one is pure magic! An oh, so beautiful brother's-best-friend, friends to lovers, fake-relationship romance with mystery, suspense, and all the feels, this book and its characters owned my heart, and I loved it so much.
The third book in the Lost & Found series, this is Grae’s story. Grae is the youngest member of the Hartley family and, like her brothers, she’s made a happy life for herself in their small home town. She grew up with surrounded by her brothers and their friends, but it was her brother Nash’s best friend, Caden, with who she shared a special connection. The two of them were incredibly close, they were each other’s ‘person’, and shared so much. Until one day it all changed. Now, after so many years having been gone, Caden is back in town to work at his family’s resort, and their now-snarky relationship is frustrating Grae, who can’t stop loving the man who seems to want nothing to do with her. But when she runs into some trouble with an ex who won’t leave her alone, it’s Caden who comes to her rescue, pretending to be her boyfriend to get the demanding man off her back. He realises that a relationship between them would also appease his ruthlessly demanding father and a tricky situation he’s in there, so he proposes they pretend to be together while he is in town.

Every single moment between these two is worth the wait as they finally give in to their feelings, and I revelled in it!

The danger, mystery and suspense build really well, and as the mystery twists and turns, there are multiple suspects that had me guessing right up until the very end.
And then there’s the family, and the dynamics in this book are fantastically written. Caden is in the most toxic position with his father and brother, trying to do the right thing, but also fighting for what he sees as his family’s legacy. His situation blends so well with what’s happening with him and Grae, and I loved watching his personal storyline unfold.
On the flip side you have Grae, who has an awesome family, but she struggles to find independence in a family that just want to protect and care for her. Grae is the cherished baby sister to four over-protective alphas who are all up in her life, and though they are all concerned and super protective, there are so many funny moments as the boys all come to terms with the changes in their little sister’s life.
All of the different elements of this book blend so seamlessly to create a dramatic, emotional, fun, swoony, sexy romantic suspense, with the most amazing romance, and I loved every moment of it.
Next up is Roan’s book, and I am so, so excited to learn more about the mysterious brother. We get to see his soft side in this book, and I love the potential that is there for his story.

The third book in the Lost & Found series, this is Grae’s story. Grae is the youngest member of the Hartley family and, like her brothers, she’s made a happy life for herself in their small home town. She grew up with surrounded by her brothers and their friends, but it was her brother Nash’s best friend, Caden, with who she shared a special connection. The two of them were incredibly close, they were each other’s ‘person’, and shared so much. Until one day it all changed. Now, after so many years having been gone, Caden is back in town to work at his family’s resort, and their now-snarky relationship is frustrating Grae, who can’t stop loving the man who seems to want nothing to do with her. But when she runs into some trouble with an ex who won’t leave her alone, it’s Caden who comes to her rescue, pretending to be her boyfriend to get the demanding man off her back. I counted from one beat to two, and the entire room erupted.
“What the hell?” Nash barked.
“Why are your lips touching my sister?” Holt growled as he pushed to his feet.
Lawson strode out from the kitchen. “This is a joke, right?”
But Roan stayed sitting. He simply stared, a thoughtful expression on his face.
Caden didn’t seem especially worried and showed no signs of releasing me as three pissed-off guys charged toward him. I, on the other hand, immediately started sweating.
“Explain,” Nash growled.

4.5 stars! Glimmers of You is the 3rd book in Catherine Cowles’ Lost and Found series which I have been loving! This one is brother’s best friend, has chronic illness rep, has a billionaire hero, fake dating, romantic suspense, and of course small town!
“When Caden finally pulled back, I blinked up at him and could only think one thing. He’d completely ruined me.”
We first see Grae and Caden when they’re teens. Grae has 4 older brothers (Holt, Lawson, Nash, Roan) and Caden is best friends with her brothers. Grae and Caden are friends too but an emergency on a hike all together, leads to Caden pulling away. We then cut to 11 years later. Grae is still living in Cedar Ridge and works at Cedar Ridge Vacation Adventures, and assists with day trips for everything from hiking to white water rafting. Caden has been running his family’s hotels in New York, but now he’s back working at his family’s fancy resort in the mountains. Grae lives with type-1 diabetes and Caden pulled away from her years ago after losing a loved one (his sister) already to something he couldn’t control. So they haven’t been close for years, but when she needs to shake someone else trying to ask her out, Grae pretends she’s dating Caden…and he goes along with it!
Caden says they should fake date so we get a lot of them pretending to be dating around their friends and family. I loved seeing her brother’s reactions! When someone breaks into her place and seems to be targeting Grae, we get a ton of forced proximity with Caden staying with her! The narrators were so good: Erin Mallon and Joe Arden! I was invested in these characters and the story. My favorite in the series is still Echoes of You (book 2), but this was another solid addition to the series with more romantic suspense elements!

Please note I have read both books #1 and #2. While I kept most of the spoilers for all three books under the spoiler section, there are light references to the previous books in the spoiler free review.
This was probably my favourite couple so far, but man, am I getting really annoyed.
First, let me say what I can in a spoiler free way:
• the author recycles things: concepts, words, jokes, entire sentences. I am not kidding. In either book #1 or #2 Lawson makes a dad joke: denial isn't only a river in Egypt. It pops up in here again. This also happens in other parts that are either copies or very similar, but I couldn't be bothered to actually take note of them because I have other stuff to do (sorry!). But even the acknowledgements... Are pretty much the same - or at least they are when the author starts to thank her friends and family for picking up her books "even though you don't like kissing books" and knowing they will be reading them will make her blush. It is EXACTLY the same and it bothers me. Even the concepts: the guys always save the girls, they are always in deathly danger, this small town (of over 2000 people, I believe the author said in #1) has more violent crime in half a year than in the last 10 altogether, and somehow they've always loved each other since infancy/kindergarten/since they were born/before the big bang. Change it up a bit, please!!!
• The red herrings are very obviously red herrings. Wikipedia* describes red herrings as the following:
While I understand what the author is doing and that, to a degree, red herrings are somewhat meant to be obvious just to get your attention distracted enough; while I understand many authors use them to several degrees of success; while I understand the point of red herrings in mystery/thrillers (being literary works, films, whatever) is to purposefully make you go after the wrong solution as a way to better hide the real one, the red herrings here are so blatantly obvious that you know from the start who is not to blame. More on that in the spoiler section.
• The red herring leads to a weird plot twist. In book #1 the same thing happened, but I was somewhat on board because I assumed maybe I missed some signs, maybe the author was testing out the concept, I don't know, maybe it was me, you know? But in here... Nothing. Zero. Nada. There was ONE moment, after ANOTHER red herring, that I thought "wouldn't it be cool if so and so were responsible?" -- but I wasn't thinking there was something to go on in this argument because... there wasn't. So it was a bit odd. Even the characters, not a single one of them, saw it coming. Considering the type of crime here, it absolutely makes no sense to not have any type of evidence you look back to.
• When I said, in my first point, the author recycles concepts, I am not kidding. In all three of these books happens one specific type of crime (I'm leaving the specifics in the spoiler area), and in this book it actually sort of happens twice. Something in the epilogue of this book also happens in the epilogue of book #1. This is also again a friends to lovers story -- well, okay, fair: book #1 was friends-to-strangers-to-lovers; book #2 was friends-to-lovers; #3 was friends-to-enemies-to-lovers. But all of these couples start as childhood friends. In this book the FMC literally says "I've loved you before I met you" which, cute, but also, what?? I know book #4 and #5 won't be that concept (or at least it doesn't look like it), but guess what happens? #4 has a single mom and #5 has a single dad. Get my point?
I'm actually pretty sad with this rating because I sort of liked this couple a lot. I also really really liked how the FMC had to deal with her overbearing family because of her Type 1 diabetes diagnostic and how that made her feel suffocated. The MMC also has a really interesting story, with a horrible father and brother, a broken mother and a lost sister, that really impacted his fear of losing said FMC after her diagnosis. It's an interesting take on a relationship and fear of commitment and fear of opening yourself up to others. It's not as well executed as I would like for both characters, but it was pretty alright. I have some doubts about the way the FMC deals with her Type 1 diabetes (I really thought Type 1 couldn't eat sugar at all??) but I will admit my knowledge of the disease is very limited and I am, most likely, going off on a stereotype that does not reflect everyone's experience.
This had great potential, but all the recycling really ruined it for me.

Catherine Cowles never misses!! This book was another masterpiece in this series!!🫶🏼💖💖
Grae and Caden have a fake dating, forced proximity, brothers best friend romance with all the romantic suspense, and no third act breakup!! Plus all the emotions!! We get to know these characters and back story so well that you can’t help but feel like you’re a part of them. Grae is so so strong and watching her stand up for self and grow was amazing. Also Caden?? The broken billionaire boy who just needed Grae to love him and be there for him🥹 watching him realize Grae wasn’t going anywhere was precious. And that epilogue!! Obsessed.
We have:

4-4.5⭐️ this was WONDERFUL!! This series is just absolutely addicting. I totally forgot going into this book it was fake dating so having that element mixed in with the suspense was really unique and so fun to read. This entry in the series I feel like really focused on the family dynamic also as Grae is the only girl and I loved seeing her brothers and everyone look out for her. SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!!!

Book three in the Lost and Found series and how are they always SO good?! I was super excited to get to Grae’s story because I loved her in the previous books, but I was skeptical when it came to Caden. He hurt my girl when she was just a fragile teenager and he had some work to do to win me over but dammit the man redeemed himself in a big way! Once I learned more about his past I understood him completely and seeing him and Grae reconnect was so sweet. The diabetes rep here was so appreciated and I admired what a bad ass Grae is, I mean she knows how to throw knives?! 😂 As always the suspense added such an intense layer to an already angsty and emotional story and I had no idea where it was going in the end. Adored every page of this and cannot even wait to read Roan’s story next.

This small town, romantic suspense series is top tier and each book is better than the last. Not only is it fake dating, but it also is friends to enemies to friends to lovers (if that is even a thing lol). Plus he’s a billionaire and her brother’s best friend.
From the moment Grae and Caden started bickering in a previous book I just knew I was going to love their story. They have amazing banter and even when they can’t stand eachother at the beginning it’s so obvious they care deeply. CADEN IS A SECRET SAD BOY and you just knowwww I love me a sad boy in books! Grae is the best sister/aunt/friend and I found myself relating to her so much.
Catherine Cowles always has such good suspense in her books but dare I say this one had the best/most jaw-dropping twists and turns? I couldn’t stop until I was at the end and got some answers.
I have said this so many times but the found family in this series makes my heart so happy 🫶🏼

Не знаю, як буде далі (маю надію на Роана і Лоусона), але поки що перші 3 книги ідентичні.
Персонажі всі на одне лице. Однакові думки та дії. Просто авторка придумала одну особистість і накидує на неї різну одежу. Я не можу виділити якусь рису характеру, щоб відрізнити, наприклад, Рен та Медді. Або Холта та Кейдена.
Любовна лінія теж схожа: чгг щось накрутив в голові і віддалився, жгг весь час страждає, потім раптово БУМ ❤кохання❤, все максимально солоденько та мило.
І як би авторка не намагалась накидувати різні тропи, але у всіх 3 книг вайби другого шансу. Це непогано, але не 3 ж книги підряд.
Дурненькі жгг це вже традиція цієї серії, але без цього не було б сюжету, можна пробачити їхню необачність)
Ґрей на фоні попередніх дівчат взагалі тітан: вміє замикати двері, займається кікбоксингом і мітає ножі💪 Хоча не вважає взлом хати, зникнення білизни і підпал машини приводом звернутися до поліції🤡
В будь-якому разі, герої цієї книги сподобались мені трохи більше. Авторка непогано їх розкрила і було зрозуміло чому Кейден тримає дистанцію, а Ґрей потребує самостійності👍
Але я читаю цю серію не заради героїв, я тут чисто пограти в детектива. Саспенс був класний! Фінал мене здивував, я взагалі не думала на цю людину. У них були такі дружні стосунки з жгг...
Побачимо, що буде далі, але скоріше ща все на цій серії і завершиться моє знайомство з авторкою.

Любовна лінія теж схожа: чгг щось накрутив в голові і віддалився, жгг весь час страждає, потім раптово БУМ ❤кохання❤, все максимально солоденько та мило.
І як би авторка не намагалась накидувати різні тропи, але у всіх 3 книг вайби другого шансу. Це непогано, але не 3 ж книги підряд.
Дурненькі жгг це вже традиція цієї серії, але без цього не було б сюжету, можна пробачити їхню необачність)
Ґрей на фоні попередніх дівчат взагалі тітан: вміє замикати двері, займається кікбоксингом і мітає ножі💪 Хоча не вважає взлом хати, зникнення білизни і підпал машини приводом звернутися до поліції🤡
В будь-якому разі, герої цієї книги сподобались мені трохи більше. Авторка непогано їх розкрила і було зрозуміло чому Кейден тримає дистанцію, а Ґрей потребує самостійності👍
Але я читаю цю серію не заради героїв, я тут чисто пограти в детектива. Саспенс був класний! Фінал мене здивував, я взагалі не думала на цю людину. У них були такі дружні стосунки з жгг...
Побачимо, що буде далі, але скоріше ща все на цій серії і завершиться моє знайомство з авторкою.

Every time I read a new Catherine Cowles book I think “this is going to be my new favorite” and every time I am right. I really enjoyed Glimmers of you and getting to know more about Grae and Caden. Grae is the only girl in a family of boys; she has four over protective brothers and now her brother’s best friend is back in town. Caden is back in town and jumps in to help Grae fend off advances from a date she can’t get away from by saying they’re together but this ruse helps more than Grae, it also helps get Caden overbearing father off his back.
When trouble keeps finding Grae and intensifies each time so does the heat between the two old friends. Now, I'm a sucker for a second chance and though this isn’t exactly a second chance romance it is a chance for two friends who fell apart to find their way back to one another. The friendship the two had when they were young is given another chance to flourish. The brothers are reminded that Grae is strong and can fight her own battles without being steamrolled and they grow as a family because of it.
