61 pages This is a book I got as a gift I threw it in my purse as a waiting book-you know you end up at the car repair shop and staring back at you for 3 hours while you wait is a stack of 2 year old car and driver magazines- not my ideal read, and the only thing on the tv is Judge Judy, so I keep some emergency readers in my purse for just such occasions, may I just say that once I started reading the book, it was very thought provoking and I found myself agreeing with the points that Beth Moore was making and saying yes thats right and uh huh I see that, so please read the book and I be you will not want to put it down. Satan uses deceptive tactics to catch us off guard and to seduce us into sinning, then we feel as though we are sentenced to Hell with no hope, reading this book shows you that you are not alone and that you have hope in the Blood of Jesus that washed away our sins and if we go to God in prayer and humble ourselves before him we can be restored.
My good friend gave me this book as a graduation present. I read it in less than two hours (I'm a slow reader). As I read it, I kept thinking about CS Lewis's Screwtape Letters, and I thought it would be awesome to start with CS Lewis's book and read Beth Moore's book afterward. They perfectly compliment each other. If your mind feels clouded with lies, this book would help set you on the right track. What I love about this book is that she points you to Scriptures to help you start anew. She challenges you to get into the Word and cling to your Savior! I highly recommend everyone reading this book!
This book was pretty amazing! As I read, I thought about C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters. Although this definitely wasn't as fun a read as Lewis's, it was still very powerful. Moore's book helped me realize places where I've been struggling and how I need to surrender them to God before they cause more problems. It also warned me against certain tendencies I have. It also reaffirmed some things I've been hearing from God but trying to ignore.
I would recommend this to every believer of Christ. All of us get attacked by Satan, and I believe this would be highly beneficial.
This book took me less than an hour to read, as I ate it up! I found myself thinking, "When was Beth Moore spying on me to know that I've gone through these things?" It can be hard as a Christian to live with the shameful things we have done, but I now feel much less alone in it. I feel that this is a great reminder and warning and something that all Christians should add to their library!
Thsi book has answered all my questions as to why my ex-wife went to live with anothe woman in sin. Satan inflicted her and Mrs. Moore has pinpointed so many items of just what did happen during her transition from living for God to serving Satan and her lesbian lover.
It took me about 30 minutes to read and I was not impressed. I felt like for the most part she used random Bible verses to support her ideas rather than coming to the Bible and allowing it to inform her understanding. Maybe Mrs. Moore just isn't the right Bible teacher for me.
This was a very good short little way to help arm me against satan I really liked it. It opened my eyes to the reality that all people are tempted by satan in a some way. This helped and had many ways and tips to help repel his evil schemes. Overall a good solid helpful read!!!!!
