Deliberate Intervention: Using Policy and Design to Blunt the Harms of New Technology

Rate this book
When technology moves so fast that regulation can’t keep up, people’s lives and livelihoods are put in jeopardy. Designers and engineers often react by creating ad hoc policies that might lead to even bigger problems.

Deliberate Intervention shows designers and policymakers alike how to work together proactively to create tools and rules that truly serve the public interest.

Good primer, US based. Specific examples of legislative/regulatory interventions to govern tech vs. bringing tech thoughtfully into govt were especially helpful. Helped clarify my thoughts/language for thinking abt relatiomship bet emerging tech and public benefit/harm.
