Based on the global hit Clash of Clans and penned by superstar graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang, this second volume of a new action-packed series brings the characters from everyone's favorite mobile gaming sensation to life!
Once upon a time, archers Jane and Angie were best friends who did everything together. That is, until, one day during battle Jane found herself stranded and alone in an otherworldly cave where she stumbled upon a mysterious scroll...with an even more mysterious message.
Continuing the epic graphic novel series set in the world of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, Gene Luen Yang pens an offbeat and action-packed tale that turns the fantasy-adventure genre on its head!

This was a relatively quick read. I wouldn't recommend this or Volume 1 to anyone who isn't familiar with Clash Royale or Clash of Clans. I don't think the story would be enjoyable without a knowledge of the world.
This may sound like I am knocking the first volume, but I felt that this second installment was a bit smoother in reading and a little less clunky in delivery. The first was good...but I see why my daughter has been loving these books. They change focus each volume and I feel this one is slightly superior to its predecessor. The art is at the same quality level and having the same creative crew make the second volume makes for such an impressive collection. I realized the reason I believe manga books are successful is because of the consistent art style, which seems to be more and more a rarity in American drawn comics. I enjoyed this story which deals with ex-best friends, betrayal and counterculture ideas...well hopefully not on such a huge level that people feel it takes away from the fun, but I felt there was some good moral of the story type undertones in this volume. (There was in the first volume 2, but as I said, I feel this one spoke to me more) I was amazed at how quickly the end wrapped up, but I will say it was a very fun book and I find myself liking the series even more after completing this volume!
I’m a huge fan of graphic novels and adored this one. Absolutely adored it! Vibrant, detailed, and seriously action-packed graphics make this an unputdownable (is that a word?) read. This book needs a warning: have time to finish because you’re not going to be able to stop. My review? Ya, I loved it, every page is a work of art, and the story is great too. The addition of the art gallery is very interesting.
Thank you First Second Books and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This action-packed volume is the continuation of the Clash of the Clans series. Beautiful illustrations and fast moving plot make for a fun read. Am sure that my students would enjoy it.
As with the first book in the series, Gene Luen Yang animates the Clash universe with humor and personality while remaining faithful to the source material.
