I love these books as they show me interesting and not well known places. A lot of details and maps.

The A -Z Cambridge Hidden Walks is an excellent bang up to date book of walks within the city of Cambridge and surrounding area. I live in this area and am impressed with the breadth and variety of walks offered in this book. It truly is ‘Hidden Walks’ and the authors have managed to avoid the usual well-trodden walks around famous Cambridge Colleges.
The layout of the book is excellent with plenty of clear maps and good details of the start and finish points, nearest postcode, distance and time estimate and also information about the type of terrain to be expected underfoot. There are also a lot of lovely colour photos.
There are twenty walks which range from 1 to 6.5 miles. Eleven are in the city or easily walkable from the city. Nine are further afield, including a couple in the cathedral town of Ely about 15 miles from Cambridge.
Cambridge is am amazing city to visit and this book gives the visitor a chance to learn more about the history and a lot of the fun and quirky things in and around the city.

A clear and easy to use guide to walks in and around Cambridge, ranging from 1.5 miles to 6.5 miles. I wouldn’t say all the walks are ‘hidden’ but the guide highlights points of interest that you may otherwise miss. It also includes interesting historical information about the sights along the route. A good mix of city, riverside and countryside walks, as well as walks in nearby villages and towns. Helpful information about the terrain and the average length of time each route takes, to help you choose which walk to do. Recommended for locals as well as visitors. Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for a review copy.

A wonderful walking guide to Cambridge, with a variety of options for length / duration. Having lived in the city for 10 years, I did wonder if this would have any surprises for me, and I'm happy to report that it did, including hidden fairy doors and other quirky things of note.
Not all of the walks are in the city - the guide throws a wider net across Cambridgeshire, including Ely, Landbeach and St Ives.
A great series of walks either for either a local resident or a visitor who is new to the city - with handy maps, step-by-step guides and colour photos to give you a taste of what to expect.

A very useful guide to Cambridge. As a Cantabrigian I enjoyed reading through all the walks around my city. I learned new facts and discovered new places where I haven't been yet. Beautiful images of Cambridge encourage to walk and know the city better. Recommend to all lovers of sightseeing.
