A skilled warrior with a life-changing task...
Every warrior needs a talisman – but for Riley Sheridan, he cares more about partying with his buddies than finding the mate he’s supposed to bond with for life. That is, until a stunning raven-haired woman steps up to the keg and asks for a beer.
A fiery beauty with untapped powers...
Lynnette Montgomery came to the festival to relax, celebrate, and take her mind off her still-undiscovered magical powers. But after fate draws her to a suave and cocky warrior, she’s shocked to realize that she’s his fated talisman. But finding your mate is never supposed to be this easy.
And the wrath of a goddess bent on their demise.
Drawn by a ripple in the cosmos, the infamous goddess Morrigan sets her sights on the pair. She’s dead-set on stopping the next Sheridan from bonding to his talisman – and when they retreat to a remote cabin to complete the ritual, she sees her chance to strike. After the goddess kidnaps Riley, Lynette is thrust into a deadly battle with a seemingly impossible to save him from a fate worse than death.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Tracker is the prequel to the Talisman series by Tam Derudder Jackson. This is a good place to start for readers who are new to the series. For those who are familiar with the series, Tracker gives us the story of Lynette and Riley Sheridan. They were mated at the beginning of the series and Tracker gives readers the details of of how they became a couple.

Riley Sheridan, a young and skilled warrior, cares only about partying with his friends, and not interested in finding his fated talisman. So even though he completed the sign ritual, which signals the start of his quest for his mate, his focus remained on having a good time. Then he laid eyes on the raven haired beauty, Lynnette Montgomery changing his focus. He knew without a doubt she was his fated talisman. Lynnette has no idea as to the nature of her talisman talent. To discover her talent, both she and Riley went into the mountains to bond and learn about each other. However, the infamous goddess Morrigan was hellbent on stopping the mating ritual. Will Lynnette and Riley have the chance to complete the ritual for the goddess strikes?

The premise behind this series intrigued me. Warriors with special powers fighting an evil goddess and trying to find their fated talisman before time runs out. Each warrior possesses a special sign which they used to identify their fated talisman. When they find the special one, the mating ritual begins for them to gain strength from each other. Each talisman also possesses powers which they used to aid their mates battle. The couples face the challenge of defeating a goddess who has no desire to see them mated.

I found the world the author created interesting and I have an interest in learning more. As this was a novella, the author did not go too much in depth. However, she gave enough details to whet the reader’s appetite for more. Celtic mythology, goddesses and shamans were a few of the things mentioned.

Riley’s cocky attitude irritated me. So full of himself, but then what can one expect from a twenty-one-year-old who believed he was all that? Lynnette, being the complete opposite, helped to keep his cockiness in check. Her resourcefulness and strength came to light when they found themselves in the middle of a battle with the infamous Morrigan. The intense battle scenes will have readers on the edge of their seats.

Overall, Tracker delivered an entertaining read, which piqued my curiosity and left me eager to learn more about this intriguing world.

Tracker is a prequel and where it all started for the Talisman series. This paranormal fantasy series is a definite must-read. It’s easy to become immersed in Tam’s magical world of modern-day alpha Celtic warriors.
It is written in multiple POV which makes the story so much more interesting hearing from different perspectives.
This unique series has a lot going on and all the paranormal goodness with Celtic mythology druids and mythology, gods and goddesses, shamans, supernatural abilities, magic, a curse, revenge, and good vs evil.
Tracker is a quick action-packed well written read and a good introduction to the colourful and badass warriors in this series.
Tracker is the fun story of Riley and Lynette and how he found his Talisman. Riley is a skilled warrior, but a young man who likes to have a good time and thinks he is all that. There were times I wanted to smack some of that out of him.
Lynette is level-headed and keeps him in check on top of trying to learn about her gift.
Now all they have to do is stay one step ahead of Morrigan a goddess who does not want warriors and their talisman to bond.

Riley Sheridan is a twin and has just turned twenty-one, an important milestone in the Sheridan family, it is now time for him to find his Talisman, his bonded mate and the one who will help him to battle the darkness which surrounds his family, but Riley is more determined to have a good time and chase the ladies while drinking a few beers with friends. Lynnette Montgomery is a young woman who works in the local market store and knows that her family has a history of magical abilities, but so far, she hasn't manifested any, so she is hoping that she will find her Warrior and discover them, but until then life goes on and so when her friend invites her to the local annual bonfire on the lakeside, she agrees to go and relax and have fun.

On this fateful evening, both Lynette and Riley end up at the same bonfire and sparks fly over the beer keg as soon as they see each other, but Lynette's friend pulls her away to play frisbee, but taht doesn't last long when Lynette is pronounced out, she goes to sit by the fire and watch everyone else having fun. This is where Riley decides to come and sit with her, but when they realise they are each others fated mate, they are shocked, nobody else has ever found their mate so soon!

As soon as the realisation hits, they talk to the others they came to the bonfire with and tell them the news, they then decide to go to a remote family cabin which Riley's family owns and complete the ritual to cement their bond, even though it is risky. Unfortunately, their worst fears come to pass and the Morrigan senses the ripple in the cosmos that their pairing has caused and come to disrupt their plans and kidnap Riley. Lynette is distraught, but she knows that she has to find him and so goes heading into a battle which has raged for generations, but will she succeed in saving Riley, or will their bond be destroyed before it can even begin? This is another brilliant book in this series where magic, danger and action are made into a heady mix which will keep you wanting more until the end arrives.

Riley, with his brother and friend, goes to a party after attending a training on how to find their Talisman- their other half to help guard their back in a battle. All are looking for a good time but also, they each secretly want to be the first to find their Talisman. Lynnette and her friends are at the same party. Knowing that they are to be on the lookout for their warrior, no one really thinks it is going to happen THAT night. Low and behold, Riley and Lynnette are matched pretty quickly. Riley takes Lynnette to a cabin to finish their bonding. However, in his boldness and thrill of being the first of the guys to find his Talisman, he forgets the most critical part. He has left them unprotected and open to attack. Can they complete the ritual before it is too late? Or will they be forever separated because of Riley's pride?

I started reading this series prior to the prequel. It was nice to be able to read Riley and Lynnette's origin story. It added a different insight as to how they play their parts in the books I have already read. I do not think I was missing anything, but I enjoyed reading their action-packed story. It was like experiencing a flashback in a movie, only in the book series. It was a quick read and worth reading because I can see the character added in this book coming back to play a bigger role. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Tracker is the seventh book in The Talisman series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. As with the rest of the series, this is another steamy paranormal romance with fated mates, action, adventure, danger, destiny, drama, intrigue, the supernatural, druids, tension, suspense, creative world building, magic, Celtic mythology, warriors, good vs evil, history, and much more.
Even though this is the seventh book in the series, it serves as a prequel to the series- so it can be read as a standalone if you wanted. But saying that, there is plenty of engrossing reading contained in the previous books, which you will probably want to know about- especially if you love paranormal romance, good vs evil, Celtic mythology, warriors, shamans, fate, and adventure.
Here we get Riley and Lynnette’s story. And what a tale they have to tell. Riley finally finds his talisman, only to find that there is a sinister force bent on keeping them apart, to snatch away their chance of fulfilling their destiny. What happens makes for a intriguing read.
This is a novella length story, which makes for a quick and easy read. Even though it is short in length, it has the feel and impact of a much longer novel.
The series consists of (so far):
-Talisman (Book #1)
-Warrior (Book #2)
-Prophetess (Book #3)
-Bard (Book #4)
-Druid (Book #5)
-Rogue (Book #6)
-Tracker (Book #7)
Bring on Book #8!
Happy reading!

Thank you, Tam DeRudder Jackson!

Perfect for a rainy day. I was first introduced to the sensational world of the talismans and warriors months ago when I read Rogue. Hooked I was excited to finally discover how Delaney’s best friend found her perfect husband. Dual perspectives of Riley Sheridan and Lynnette Montgomery this is a quick read with so much packed in that you’re left holding your breath from start to finish.
Riley, his twin brother Rio, and their friend Seamus have just completed their sign ritual. A brotherly rivalry that neither expected to end so soon. Lynnette has kept herself untouched in hopes of finding her warrior but two months surprises everyone. When a simple bonfire party changes everything Lynnette and Riley waste no time in escaping the prying eyes of civilians and go to a secluded hunting cabin. Not knowing what her skill is they are only moments into training when they must learn by being in the heat of battle. An unlikely ally emerges when Lynnette comes out of her hiding to complete silence. In a moment of panic her skill is revealed to her.
What is Lynnette’s skill? How does she see what others cannot? The world once again entrances the reader, teleporting them into the world of Celtic lore. I couldn’t help but look for more information on the dobhar-chu after completing the book. I look forward to going back and reading more of this series and can’t wait to see whose story will come next.

I absolutely loved this pre-qual to The Talisman Series, Tam DeRudder Jackson is such a thorough writer when it comes to creating a story full of details and leaving nothing out, she is a downright genius. Your imagination gets the biggest treat when you read her books. From the smallest of details to the surroundings of the characters, you can practically taste the smells around the characters, as they experience them. It is such a magical world that I feel like I could climb right into the story as a bystander. It was so easy for my imagination to follow along with the story being viewed in my mind. This is the kind of book that grabs my attention and keeps me reading straight through to the end, they are so amazing! This is the first book I've ever read in this series, and it will not be the last. I am so excited to continue on this journey and see where this series leads. I have to say I want to read more of Riley and Lynnette's romance in order to learn more of Lynnette's Talisman skills and see how they are able to benefit Riley's Warrior skills. I am a huge fan of the paranormal especially when romance is a huge aspect of the book. This is a must-read series for me, and I cannot wait to continue on to the other books in this series and see where my imagination takes me.

I have read a couple of books from ‘The Talisman Series’ so naturally when I found out there was a prequel, I could not wait to read it. In the first book of the series, you are introduced to the Sheridan brothers. Since Riley was already mated, you didn’t hear much about him or his love. This book focuses on him.

Riley and Lynnette meet at a party and are instantly attracted to each other, luck would have it that they are each other's fated mates. Being the first Sheridan brother mated, Morgan wants to stop the bonding process and sends her forces to take Riley. It is up to Lynnette to save him but she doesn’t even know what her talisman powers are yet.

I really enjoyed reading about the youngest brother but honestly he was not what I expected. He was very cocky and full of himself. Nothing like his brothers. I wasn’t a big fan of his attitude. I was a fan of Lynnette though. She had a good head on her shoulders and calmed Riley down quite nicely. She was a caring, smart, sweet girl with some fire within her. They seem to be the perfect couple. This book is a lot shorter than the other books and doesn’t have a lot of Celtic lore but it is a great introduction to the series.

This book is part of The Talisman series but it is a prequel. I have loved every book in the paranormal romance series and this one is just as amazing. The author does an amazing job with the story creating a world of.good vs evil, as well as a fated mate storyline too. One thing I really love is that the main characters complement each other. We have a warrior and a talisman but both are equalling strong and equally needed if they are to succeed and defeat the evil against them.

This is Riley and Lynnette's story. Both of them have just reached the age of 21 so neither of them expect to find their mate so soon but the gods have other plans when they bring them together.
Riley is already a skilled warrior and even though Lynnette doesn't know what her skill is or how it will aid Riley there is no denying their connection and love for each other.
When they go away to start bonding and try and figure out Lynnette's skill they are attacked.
What follows is an adventure as Lynnette figures out what role she is to play by being at Riley's side and we learn just how strong their bond is when it is threatened.
Will they defeat the evil force against them that is trying to stop their bonding? Or will they prove just how strong they are when a warrior finds his Tailsman.

Tracker is part of The Talisman Series and is a prequel to the other books in the series. It is a paranormal romance full of drama, danger, action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, Celtic Mythology, and fated mates. The story is told from multiple POV and centers around the characters of Riley and Lynette. In the beginning of the series these two were a couple already but this tells how they met. Riley is a skilled warrior who only cares about having a good time and going out to party with his friends. He is cocky, arrogant, and a bit self-absorbed. Riley has completed the sign ritual to begin his quest for a mate but has no desire to find his mate. Enter Lynette who immediately captures Riley’s attention and he instantly knows she is his mate. She is kind, sweet, brave, and down to earth which balances out Riley’s attitude. Lynette has talisman talents but is unsure as to what they are just yet. Riley and Lynette attempt to get to know one another but the evil goddess Morrigan is determined to keep them apart. The ensuing story is a battle of good versus evil as Riley and Lynette battle against Morrigan in their attempt to be together. A great read that kept me reading until the end. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

So.. I have settled on a 3.5-4 star rating for Tracker by Tam Derudder Jackson. Upon picking up this book I was drawn in by the description of the book and the cover but I am unsure what I was actually expecting but it wasn’t what Tracker ended up being. I only found out after reading that this book is a novella and a continuation of another book which was dedicated more to Riley and Lynette which could be why the book felt like it started in the middle of their story and was just a snippet of an event. I believe that I was expecting more old school/adult, more similar to Outlander, but it read more like a young adult/teen novel except for the spicy scenes which were very adult. I’m not saying this was a bad book either. I think now that I have realized what I was getting I enjoyed what I got. This book was a SUPER quick read, like I read it in about 2 hours, and it is quick to get into the action and stays there. It was a wild ride to the end and kept you wondering what was going to happen next. I thought Lynette and Riley were great together and enjoyed how their powers interacted with each other.

Tracker (The Talisman Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson
4 Stars

Although this is book six in the series, it is actually the prequel to it. It might be a good idea to start with this book then read the others. The premise behind this series is that there are warriors protecting mankind from The Morrigan. They need to find their talisman ( fated mate) before a certain age or Morrigan claims them for herself. The story line is original. Each book focuses on a different couple so in theory they can be read as stand-alones.

This is Riley and Lynette’s story. Riley comes from a strong family of warriors. He is cocky and sure of himself. Smart, strong and oh so good looking. Lynette is beautiful, caring and innocent. When they meet, it’s instant attraction. Neither one expected to meet their mate so soon. Her character calms him down. They balance each other. They are a really good match.

The author did a great job weaving Celtic lore in this series. The characters are likeable and charming. The book is filled not only with romance but action as well.

Tracker (The Talisman Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson. This is the 6th installment in the Tailsman series but actually is a prequel so I think it should be read before the others. This is the story of Lynette and Riley who are trying to find their mate before a certain age. When Lynette goes to a party with her friends as does Riley and his friends. When they meet they know automatically they are mates but never dreamed it would happen so fast. The Gods wanted them to meet quickly but Morrigan will stop it if at all possible. Lynette doesn't know what her skill is just yet and has to fight quickly. Riley is already a skilled warrior and has no problem in the battle and is ready to protect Lynette at all costs. Lynette figures out her place is to be with Riley at all times. The story ends with Lynette finding out what her skill is and how to use it along with Riley being by her side. Such a great love story!

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. I enjoy their writing skills and attention to details that give the story a realistic feel. This book is no different. It is an adventure story that is shorter but sure packs a punch in a short amount of time. I found this book to be well written and a book that I read in one sitting. The characters bring the story to life on each page. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. Their characters are strong, determined and connectable. They took me on an adventure that has a touch of romance. This is a fast paced, engaging story that kept me coming back for more. There is great growth as well as chemistry throughout the story. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Prequels aren’t usually my favourite type of books, as I prefer to read the stories as they develop rather than going back and forth. However, this is a great example of how a prequel should be done. It was engaging and well written, offering a new storyline without feeling like we were being told the same things we already knew. It was a great insight into characters we have already been introduced to and I enjoyed finding out more about them.
The author has created a well developed and intriguing series. Each book pulls me in and I find myself caught up in what is going on. Whenever a new book or new series is released by this author, I am always excited to see what I will find. This is a fantastic story and I would highly recommend the series as a whole.

This is such a quick and fun read! I have enjoyed many books by this author, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to me that this one would follow suit. You can read this as a standalone, but I don’t recommend it that way. You will find much enjoyment, depth, and background from the rest of this series! While this is a shorter story as it is a prequel, the author spares no details. It grabs your attention and checks all the points for a longer book while taking you half the time. Reading about Lynnette and Riley will fill you with every kind of emotion as we are immersed in a world of danger, suspense, and the paranormal. If you think you have the story figured out, the author spins you in a new direction. I highly recommend picking this series up, you won’t regret it!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I will definitely be reading more! Her characters are well developed and the storyline was intriguing, entertaining and engaging. This was the prequel so it was a good place to start for a newbie to the series like me. Riley is a young and skilled warrior but only cares about partying and not interested in finding his fated talisman. He completes the ritual to find his talisman but then goes on with the partying. Then he meets a raven-haired beauty and knows she is his fated talisman. Lynette doesn’t know yet what her talisman powers are so they go up to the mountains to bond and explore her powers. A goddess is determined to stop them from bonding, what will happen?

This is an intriguing story about Celtic warriors of this time. This story brings readers a look at the world belonging to The Talisman series. Tracker gives readers the story of Riley and Lynnette. When the two meet their lives are turned upside down. I enjoyed seeing the way these two bonded. The two work well together and it was nice to see them fight for what they know is right. I liked seeing how Lynnette grounds Riley and how together there is nothing that can stop them. Their story is fast paced and has strong characters. The author has woven a world full of magic and emotions and I am interested in seeing what will happen next in it.

Back again reading another book from this fantastic author. After reading most of the talisman Series, I was super excited to read a prequel in the series.I do love getting the origin story. I made quick work of this story. It was only 11 chapters or so, but even though it was a short read it was Still just as great as the other in the series. And just as the author says in her synopsis. This is a good place to start your journey reading these books. This follows Riley and Lynnette and the events that took place that ended up with them mated together 🥰 I look forward to finishing the rest of the books and any new ones that hopefully come out.

As a student studying Greek mythology, Celtic mythology piqued my interest and the modern spin on the story was the icing on the cake! I got lost in this book, like no one is parenting the children lost. It was such an awesome story and was written so well. I have never read a book like this one and it was such a refreshing change for me. The author wrote it so eloquently and in a way that made me yearn for more information with every page I turned. Loved how it ended and couldn’t recommend enough!

A steamy romance that starts just about at the beginning of this prequel? Riley, his brother Rio and their friend Seamus are Warriors and they’re tasked to find their Talisman mate. Riley can’t stop staring at Lynnette when they first meet. Wouldn’t you know it, they seem to be attracted to each other in more ways then one. When they decide to figure out their connection things go off the rails. What happens to Riley and to Lynnette?
This is a fun read and I enjoy reading about their connection to each other.

This is the Talisman Series Prequel. Tracker is Riley and Lynette’s story. Riley and his friends attend a party that Lynette and her friend also attend. Neither of them are expecting to find each other so soon. However the Gods felt that they needed to meet rather quickly. As they are bonding, Morrigan is dead set on stopping the bonding process. I will not give anything away. You need to read the story and drink it all in. I promise you that Tracker will keep your eyes, mind and body focused on the story and how Lynette and Riley try to become one. Will they make it? Read on to find out.

What a delightful read! I really enjoyed every second this one! I did not know anything about this series and the author does a good job explaining it in here. It intrigued me to want to see more about Riley’s brothers because they have a wonderful camaraderie. The action suspense and drama held me to the story but the fantasy aspect kept me there. I was husy trying to figure out what these characters are or did and why. I really thought the talisman was an item not a person so…interesting. I eagerly look forward to more in this series.

So, this book is the prequal to the Talisman series, which I didn't initially realize. However, I have the unique situation of starting at the VERY beginning of this tale by learning the origins of Riley and Lynette. They go to a party to find their talisman and begin the bonding process. This is a super short read, a novella, so it went very quickly. It was also action packed and I didn't want to put it down. After reading this, I'll definitely be continuing on with the series! I've got to see what happens!

At the beginning of this series Riley and Lynnette Sheridan were already happily mated. This story tells the tale of how they got to be that way.

Riley is a cocky 21 year old. Partying his way through life.

“Besides, it’s good to know my talisman finds me attractive. You know, since I think you’re a freakin’ smoke show.”

Lynnette is young has no idea what her talisman talent is. She and Her Warrior go to the mountains to bond and learn about each other.

Lynnette showed him why she was his perfect mate. Her fire and strength, her resourcefulness, her willingness to play with him, the sparkle in her eyes when she called him out for being cocky—his woman was the whole package.

I’m so glad We are getting more books in this series because when I started the first story it became one of my all time favorite series

The mythology is superb, the love story is out of this world with action and adventure. Super evil bad guys and alpha men to die for.

There is nothing about this series that I don’t love.

Novella
This is the prequel and gives the backstory for Riley and Lynette who are already together in book one of The Talisman Series. The cover is so Riley, his cockiness just shows through.
The story is a modern day take on Celtic warriors who each have a fated talisman that compliments their powers. It was great to meet all the characters that each have a book dedicated to them. Really looking forward to diving into this series. Highly recommend.

Reading Riley and Lynette's story was fascinating. My understanding is that this is the prequel to the series. I came into the series later and I have to say that this gave me a different perspective. I enjoyed the writing. I have enjoyed the characters in the story. Reading about and following each as they find their match of talisman to warrior signs is fun. Their is strength, courage and bravery in each character. The writing is very well done. I love this series.
