Shaoqiang Wang is a professor and graduate supervisor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (China). He is a prolific editor whose titles focus on international design, architecture, branding, communication, trends and culture, and he is also the editor of Design 360° magazine and Asia-Pacific Design. He has been invited to lecture at numerous universities, design academies and organizations, and he has been a jury member for China’s most prestigious design and illustration awards. Mr. Wang is also director of the Guangdong Museum of Art and professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Arts and Humanities of the Macau University of Science and Technology.
I just think there were some missing opportunities.
For some of the projects they have a interview with the design studio. But soon you find is just the same questions for all. And most of the projects don't have an interview at all so you get just a basic resume.
Also, as the focus of the book is editorial design and grid systems I really think they should show the grid dimensions for each project. Instead they just show the grid above some pages, so we don't get to learn how to make that grid ourselves.
So yes, I was expecting more from this one. But still a nice reference book for designers.
