I belong to the alpha. And he'll die to protect me...
Since discovering I’m not human and come from an ancient line of royal wolves, things have gone from bad to worse.
I’ve had to do battle with the wolfhiding inside me, and I’m the only one who can stop the royals from ending shifter existence.
If it wasn’t for my fated mate, Nico, and his dangerous protective streak, I may not still be here.
Now shifters are going feral, and humans are scared. When we uncover something shocking about the feral shifters we realize just how far the royals are willing to go to destroy us.
With a wolf inside me that's stronger than I imagined, I won't give up without a fight. And nor will my fated mated, who is hell bent on protecting me...
Roxie Ray is a group of writer friends who love to write Sci Fi Alien Romance and Paranormal Romance. They love to talk, read and write this lovely genre. They hope you love their books and strive to make sure you have a steamy, wonderful experience!
Repetitive on a grand scale. Miraculous saves. Random characters that have zero bearing on the plot.
The giant bear guy? WTF was he there for? The scene about the cave: How is it that no one stayed on the boat for safety? Like 4 divers and not one of them think someone should stay on the boat?
Billionaire weirdo who saves the day? They could have released the footage 100 chapters ago! Big reveal of Billionaire... absolutely worthless.
Abi and Sebastian side plot that made (again) zero sense! From the other books Sebastian would never leave his guard duty. Suddenly he is such a horn-dog that he abandons Abi🙄? Yeah, no, not buying that.
I'm going to stop there because as long as this book was, I'd be writing this review for days pointing out all the stupidity.
Wow. This is the 2nd book in the Fated to Royalty series, and I might have liked it more than the first. I love Maddy and her family. I love the addition of Sinthy. And once again, the Sebastian/Abi dynamic beckons me. Nico is still the hot Alpha, and he and Maddy's love is wonderful. I can't wait for the third part!
I truly, absolutely love werewolf stories! I love the thrill of the unknown, and the fact that their way of life comes before everything else. I love the way a mate bond works, how you can try to turn away from true love, but in the end the bond always works things out. Now, don't get me wrong, I would not want to have that in my life personally; but isn't that what makes a novel so truly wonderful, you become someone else in the comforting arms of a wonderful author.
*Possible Spoiler* The main male character seems like a total, well, someone who is completely audacious (for lack of a better word). Supercilious as all get out, and could just be a huge aggravation in the beginning chapter. Give him a chance, it does get better as you read on.
I’m always up for some paranormal fiction, and I enjoyed the plot of this story, though it did drag at times but I had to know what was going on. I was also put off by the patronizing way the alpha patted her leg or dismissed what she had to say about things she was feeling. He did feel bad after she had a go at him but I wanted to smack him.
The narrative begins with a woman who finds herself under attack by shifters, and she has no idea why. Fortunately, she is rescued by other shifters, one of whom appears to be her fated mate. However, the question remains: is she truly human, or is there something more to her?
As she enters an entirely new world, the story is rich in tension as she navigates her identity and her newfound status within this society. But why are they trying to kill her? Emotions run high as the characters confront their circumstances, dealing with conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer of complexity to the tale. Now there is a war on the horizon the Royals need to be taken out.
Amidst these challenges, there is also an undercurrent of playful interactions. Overall, it’s an interesting blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.
So, first off: I was shaking the characters in my head a couple of times.
Reason one: Sebastien blames himself for Abi being kidnapped in the first book. It's explained more in this book why that is. Once I learned, I was amazed that people were blowing it off as much as they were. Abi has every reason to be mad at him. He SHOULD feel guilty. Maddy should STILL be mad at him. Even NICO should have been mad at him. The fact he shrugs it off, Maddy gets over it (she wasn't even upset to begin with besides the fact he wasn't talking to her), and even Abi says she wants to make it right? Yeah, no. Not cool. I'm glad HE still feels bad about it because he can not grovel enough. I have plenty of things I'd be saying to his face that Amazon would not be happy if I posted in my review here.
Second: (MINOR SPOILER BUT I'LL KEEP IT VAGUE) Our shifter friends find damning evidence against the Royals for some of the atrocities they've committed. What do they do? Nothing. They literally do nothing with it. It isn't until towards the end that a light bulb goes off above someone's head, and they think, "Hey! Let's let others see this!" ... really? I'm going to put it off as doing it for the storyline, but seriously, NO ONE thought of using it earlier!?
THAT ALL ASIDE. Great story! Pretty sad in parts when you learn more about the past and hear about what's being done to Shifters who have been taken by the Royals. I love that there are so many kinds of Shifters mentioned in the series. Also, Nico? Ultimate boyfriend goals! He's not unrealistic. He makes mistakes sometimes, but darn if he isn't the most loving and nurturing boyfriend / mate ever!!
The gloves are off now, all bets are off, and things are about to get VERY real and very ugly in the final book.
Roxie did REALLY good at writing this story. She is able to draw you in and keep you invested through out the different books. I fell in love with this series from the beginning. I knew It was going to be great as soon as I picked up book 1. The world building in this is really amazing. You can tell there was so much time, effort, and love put into this series. Although this one is no where near as long as the first one, the events didn't feel rushed or thrown together. Book 1 was so long that I thought it was their whole story. I was glad that wasn't it for them. But now it's starting to feel drawn out a bit. This fight with Viola is still on going and has been since book 1 ( although we didn't know who she was in the beginning) Even when they get a win - its turned into something worse. So that win doesn't last long. With that being said, I am really glad this is only 3 books or else I may not have continued.
When they got those videos of the testing my first thought was RELEASE IT! I was surprised it wasn't their first thought as well. It came up later, but I was really surprised that it wasn't the characters first thought. But the way it was released was AMAZING! Too bad the bitch went into hiding and destroyed all evidence before anyone could find anything. Now it's time for war. I can't wait to see how it's going to go down. I think Maddy will end up using the blood. Other than evolve her wolf into a werewolf I am wondering if there will be any other affects?
Roxie is definitely my new favorite author. I'm planning on reading ALL her books.
First, the reader has to suspend logic and reality completely and just go with the leaps and OTT saves this outing takes to enjoy it!! That’s done. Viola has most of the world doing her bidding after creating the non-existent feral shifter crisis; Maddy and Nico re-examine clues to find the vial while circumstances dictate a close look at the Abi, Luis and Sebastian triangle.
Meanwhile, Viola pressures the shifter community, the coalition packs re-pledge unity. Billionaire pack friend, Donatello and a renowned shifter supporter throw their weight around. Help from a surprise source arrives for Maddy while Nico and the revitalized shifter coalition pool resources. They have enough to stop Viola as she frantically increases the pressure. But can it be used in time. A large thread left dangling giving the perfect excuse for a trilogy! Rating: 3.5stars
"You’re the type of lore or legend that wasn’t supposed to exist."
Maddy is discovering more and more truths about herself, having grown up believing herself human and learning the hard way in the previous book she's a shifter.
Nick is a leader, through and through, but life is calling on him to not just lead his pack, but other area Alphas as well as their enemies decide it isn't just individual shifters they want to take aim at, but all shifters... or so it seems.
This epic book moves forward a grand overarching arc. In the way of a lot of great fantasy and science fiction it contains a lot of very topical social commentary, including weaving COVID-19 in as a past tense pandemic from which we all gained both knowledge and experience.
This is the second book in the *Fated To Royalty* series. This is NOT a standalone. You need to read each book in order.
Maddy is desperate to find this vial of blood after she was almost bled dry by Viola. While looking for this vial, the whole world has gone crazy. Viola is trying to end the existence of all shifters. Maddy and Nico won't let that happen. When you're stretched thin and trying to do too many things at once, what do you take care of first?
They really can't seem to catch a break can they. The elders made me quite angry. The whole issue with "feral shifters" is crazy. It's nice to see so many types of shifters coming together. Maddy and Nico's mate bond is intense and quite interesting. How can one woman be so vindictive? Maddy herself is a wild card so her blood is even more of a mystery. That cave scene was insane. There are so many dangerous adventures. The date night in Croatia was beautiful. I'm shocked at the story Isme told and that ending!
Wow. I had no clue what was going to happen next but this was definitely not what I expected. So many crazy twists. My mouth was hanging open with all the information. I can't wait to see what surprises are in store for book 3.
I enjoyed it and it Was not anywhere near as long as the 1st book in the series
The 1st book in the series was rather long at over 600 pages and a lot of people were unable to finish it as a result and felt that they could not read the series Based on reviews people complained about the repetition in the book and also saviors without explanation of how they became saviors.
I did not have trouble finishing the 1st book and actually found it quite enjoyable except for a few things such as angst among the main female character. She had a lot to be anxious about but I found It frustrating.
This book ends in a cliffhanger And I won't spoil anything about the story but it really was quite good I did find that again there was this Hero to the rescue without any explanation of how they Were able to do what they were able to do.
I'm going to start the 3rd book in the series right away. I won’t recommend this book. not because it wasn’t good enough to recommend but because I wouldn't want to recommend something and then have people be disappointed in the first book due to It’s length. If you can tackle the first Book’s length, I think you will enjoy it and the rest of the series as well.
This book felt redundant and repetitive. There were so many moments that I wanted to DNF, but didn’t because I still like the characters and wanted to see how they defeat Viola.
There were so many moments that added no value to the storyline. It seemed like it took so long to get to the end only for it to end on another cliffhanger and Viola back trying to bring out the haters to kill the shifters. Like WTF?!
I’ll probably wait a little to read the conclusion, because this story is too dragged out for me right now. I do still love the out two main characters spicy scenes and their chemistry is off the charts, but that doesn’t make up for everything else I had to get through in this book.
There is more violence from Violent Viola through this second book in the series. Maddy and Nico have so many ups and downs throughout it all with so many struggles. They win the battles but it’s like the true war is start.
I really can’t wait to get to the point of the third book for an uprising for it to be clear that Viola needs to be in a secure psychiatric facility that would be used for those against the Avengers and the Justice League. She’s like the enemies from both at the same time. Maddy has the vial in her pocket and I wonder what she will choose to do with it, it’s almost like it was the like the last heart shaped herb in Wakanda. So ready to continue on with this series!
I have never enjoyed a series of books so much. I just did not like the idea of having to wait till next year for the next book to come out. I am so excited to hope and pray that it turns out the way I want it to. I stayed up for two days reading the series. OMG THAT WAS SOME AWESOME READING. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THESE STORIES WITH US YOUR FANS. I am a widow who has always loved reading. I grew up poor but always had books to read. I got books at Christmas nd also to my birthday's. My love for reading started when I first learned to read. Again THANK YOU.
I liked the idea of the this series, but I don’t think I will be continuing. Literally all that happened for 80% of book two, was the same things that happened all of book one. Self/loathing, sex, complaining, and very little action. Now the last 20% was interesting and had great developments. It has a lot of potential, but I think there wasn’t enough to it for me.
I do understand the storyline had to progress, but 100 pages of the main character just bitching and crying about how shitty her life is and no actual character growth, kind of bummed me out. 🤷🏻♀️
Now this is just my opinion. The author did well, just not my cup of tea I guess.
Wow what a finish in this second instalment, everything has gone mad, and a war is brewing but what will Maddy and Nico do to keep their family and friends safe? The shifter world is hanging in the balance, the Royals seem to have upper hand, how will they win??? This is a good read although I did find myself skipping certain scenes to get to the good ones. I wanted them to finally get one up on Viola. Loved the friendships and families that come together, some hard scenes to read. The love scenes were steamy although I did skip a few of these choosing to read the story. Overall a good read but slightly repetitive and perhaps a little long winded, although the finale should be amazing.
I wasn't sure if I'd like this book or not .... I relistened to the first book in the series and felt it was rather long, however, I didn't feel this way with this book. it was really good. The story kept my interest the entire time, I loved where things went and the plot twists here and there. I do love the characters and overall the story is great! The narrator did a good job, I don't think there are enough distinctions with the voices however, that didn't bother me too much. This book ended on a cliffhanger so I'm excited to see how the series will end! I'm starting the last book right away!!
What is in store for Nico, Maddy & the rest of their pack?
I absolutely love Roxie Ray shifter romances. Book 1 in the series I absolutely loved & the author has done it again with book 2 Fated To Her Alpha Protector. The continuation of Nico & Maddy's story flows from book 1. Can Maddy win the battle with her inner wolf & stop the royals from ending shifter existence? Will her mate go into OTT protective mode when they learn what lengths the royals are willing to go to to destroy us?.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have loved this book and book one ad well! I cannot wait to read book three in the Fated to Royalty series! This series has everything- adventure, love, hate, friends, enemies, hot sex scenes, and so much more! The storyline is amazing and flowed flawlessly from book one into book two. While reading, I truly felt that I was among the characters as they went about their lives. I can’t wait to see what Nico, Maddy, their friends and family, and even Viola embark upon as the series continues in book three.
I enjoyed this book I saw several bad reviews about it being unrealistic and ‘stupid’… but you’re reading a book about shifters, of course there are going to be things that are unrealistic. This book added much more then just wolf shifters, the author introduces bear shifters and dragon shifters and witches. She makes time for intimate scenes between Nico and Maddy, and pretty drama between Abi and Sebastian (which is still left unresolved- hopefully they can figure it out in the next book)
I really like these characters. They are real feeling people. No one is too whiney and things fall into to place as they should. The titles really confuse me as Maddi should actually be the main character. Nico is great, but he is definitely secondary to her in this story arch. I think it is done to attract female readers who want that damsel in distress/ sexy hero arc hopefully in the last book Maddi kicks butt and takes names, but wherever Roxy takes the story I'm sure I'll be satisfied with the end.
Nico is an Alpha's Alpha, and I'm all in for it; however, while we keep hearing how powerful Maddy is, I just don't see it (and she's not the only disappointment). The never-ending treasure hunt makes the story drag, and while I was hoping for an Abi/Sebastian romance, they were too incredibly childish to care about any longer. The wickedness of that Monroe Group actually helps save the plot; so do the new character additions. There are a few good surprises,.and that cliffhanger...!
Fated to Her Alpha Protector by Roxie Ray, book 2 in the (Fated to Royalty) series.
So I went straight into this one after finishing book one, his book is quite a bit shorter than the first book. Love that we are seeing Maddy growing so much more stronger and showing how strong she is. Nico is just adorable as ever and love how protective of Maddy he is. Viola omg I hate her so much, she is a true villain. This book certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat, tears and heartbreak. The romance is beautiful and has the right amount of spice in it. Truths start to come out and things start to get very intense as the shifters put all they can into destroying The Royals.
This book is pretty good. Keeps you engaged and isn’t predictable. But with so much going on in the story I have a hard time really loving the relationship between the main characters. Like the connection with them is there but I feel like it’s there because I’ve been told it is, not because they constantly show it and prove it. Even the spicy scenes are so-so. I would rather just keep reading to see how the plot turns out. Could take or leave the spicy scenes they are nothing to get excited about really. But still a pretty good story. I just won’t be running to read the third book.
I hadn’t read book 1 in this series so some things were a bit confusing for me but this is my own fault not the authors but I do get the gist of this story and I enjoyed it immensely, I loved the characters Maddy and Nico, the descriptions, the storyline and the baddies the Royals who are so good at being bad. Do read book 1 first otherwise you will be confused like me but I did really enjoy this story and I recommend this book.
Nico and Maddy are a unified team most of the time, Maddy still thinks Nico under estimates her because she is a women. The origin story is finally explained.we meet new characters and the tide turns with out aggressive violence on the h/h part. The emotional family issues are addressed but Abi and Sebastian can’t quite work it out. Viola is still out there. Book three is the war.
This took forever to finish. I just felt like the author dragged it along until reaching the end of this part of the story. How they did it even think that the Royals would come along and try to kidnap Maddy while they were on their rescue mission is beyond me. Glad she finally connected with her wolf. Hopefully they won’t have any more issues connecting. They definitely didn’t see the royals retaliation coming.
