Stephanie Blake s hilarious and irreverent little bunny will tickle kids funny bones! When the little bunny announces, I am Super Bunny! his cat, Snowy, isn t so sure. But when the little bunny gets a splinter in his paw, no one will ever question why he wears a cape! Meh. I probably wouldn't even have picked this up (the art doesn't appeal to me personally), but I'm way behind on my reading for the year, so I'm binge-reading children's picture books to catch up.

Little bunny thinks he's Super Bunny, and he goes off to fight bad guys. When he finds a dark, empty hole in a tree, he hops in, because Super Bunny's not afraid of anything. (view spoiler)

For those who loved Simon, the cheeky rabbit in Stephanie Blake’s Poo Bum, this will be another fun read.

KAPOW!!! I’m Super Rabbit!

Simon bounces out of bed and goes off confidently to find some villains, followed by the little blue cat. However he shows his vulnerability when hiding in the hollow of a tree and he calls for Mummy, but then he proved he was very brave when a splinter had to be removed from his finger.

As the needle approached,
the little rabbit felt something new:
he felt fear and pa

Bipedal bunnies - like the horrors that hop into grocery stores around Easter - are a crime against all that is good and right in the world.

Clearly I'm not a huge fan of the illustrations.

The text, however, is pretty straight forward. Might work for a toddler storytime. Or superhero thing. Kinda tame but there's kids it will appeal too. Also, if you need to prep a kid for the whole splinter removal thing, this might be your book.

Cute story about make believe and playing superheroes. Drawings a bit primitive/simple. Confused by plot at one point: I thought Super Bunny was calling for mom because he was afraid of the dark but turned out he had a splinter.

Agree with other reviewer about splinter-removal-fears -- this might be great for a school nurse's office!
