Ethicability helps us to decide what's right and then find the courage to do it. It is based on a clear, concise and robust model which combines insights from 3,000 years of moral philosophy with the latest scientific research into human psychology and behaviour. In just 20 questions, ethicability enables us to understand and resolve a wide range of moral dilemmas in a format which has been tried and tested by groups as diverse as investment backers, health practitioners, and the security services. Ethicability then helps us to find the courage to do the right thing because we now have the confidence that we have made the best decision we can, having considered everyone and everything involved. Deciding what's right doesn't always mean immediate success or even happiness, because life isn't a playground. Ethicalbility is about being good, doing right, and leaving the world a better place.
I made the mistake of reading this book after completing a course in professionalism, conduct and ethics, which made the contents feel a bit too basic.
A very simple and straightforward book, with good thought provoking exercises at the end, which I think would probably work better in a corporate group training environment than in my armchair.
A solid book to spark some ideas about how we think and handle situations in which ethics should be a key player, but can play different roles depending on your view of ethics.
The three different types of ethical profiles presented early in the book was interesting.
A good guide and reminder to what matters in this modern corporate world from a decision making perspective. Who does it affect and how, where and when and how my ethical decisions impact others.
