I used this as a warm-up book to get back into reading. I read it in one sitting--kind of wish I hadn't so that I could have digested it more. It was a good read, very quick. Without giving anything away, the main characters grandfather was (is) my favorite character. All of his scenes gripped my heart in one way or another. It was also insightful as to how they treated Christians during Communism. My understanding was very little, so this was a good introduction to further study. I didn't rate it five stars because the way large parts of Sunshine's life were skipped over wasn't too pleasant. All in all, I recommend it to anyone seeking to read a short biography of a young girl who goes through persecution and confusion, but eventually finds her Savior.
