How do you destroy a monster without becoming one?

The Gods have returned with burning vengeance for all.

Their wrath and carnage will not cease until they bathe in the blood of those who imprisoned them.

Everything Selene has ever known is a lie and everything that she has ever cared for has been stolen from her by the monsters plaguing Ladon and Atrium. The light of hope she harnessed inside of her died alongside the only male she has ever loved.

Taken against her will by her sworn enemy and once trusted friend, Emrys, Selene must break herself out of her newest cage, embrace her true identity while warring with the blood-lust flowing through her veins, and harness her forgotten powers.

The cruel rulers who want to enslave the entire nation build in rank while the war of the century approaches closer by the day. But the Fates are not done revealing the twisted lies of the royal High Fae as something incomprehensibly ancient awakens and waits to unleash its dark calamity on the realm.

Selene is done being nothing but a pawn in their royal game of chess. She is done being the victim. Done sitting idly as her realm is corrupted and destroyed. To save her people, she will become something to fear—the most powerful player that The Fates have ever encountered:

A Monster of Vengeance.

A Goddess of Death.

A Queen of the Broken.

This book was just ok. It was an easy enough read and entertaining but otherwise it was average.

Truthfully, Emrys, another daddy phantom hands, was what kept me interested most of the time. He is ridiculously hot, morally grey, and of course a pro in the bedroom.

I though the spicy scenes in this book were well written and I did enjoy them. But I won’t be continuing the series after this.

I received this book as an ARC reader and the only reason I was even able to put this book down was the fact I had to eventually go to work lol.

I absolutely loved the first book and the ending was so heart wrenching but it definitely paved the way to making this book just as good as the first.

The love how the MFC isn't portrayed as someone helpless. I love the refreshing way that she is full of darkness and struggles rather than a MFC who needs the man to sweep in and save her. The way she takes all her hardships and turns them into a driving force is nice to see even if there are bits of darkness is just shows how raw she is.

I love how not only is there a strong MFC but she has created Minka the human who with no special powers except for her determination to making herself stronger not letting the fact she is human place her in the background.

Then we come to Emrys, all I can say is swoon. "My moonlight", why don't men talk like that every day? I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but I definitely have another new book boyfriend :-)

It is a nice slow burn that gives you more details of the world that they are in giving you more answers to questions from the first book. All through this book it makes you think "ooh I can't wait to see what the meaning behind that is going to be."

The only downside is now I have to wait a whole year for the third book :-(

Well done Lyra you've nailed this one too.

Finally the second installment to the Moons of the Divine series has arrived and I could not be more satisfied. The beginning of this novel is truly devastating the author was truly able to make you feel the pain and sorrow that Selene was going through, through her writing and that just captivated me right from the start of this book. I was definitely to see how things would work out between Selene and Emrys and Queen of the Broken really delivered in that aspect, we get to see so much more of them together and that just made me very happy. True to the title of the book Selene really rises to the title Queen by the end of this book and finally realizes what her purpose. Another incredible book in this series that I absolutely recommend reading. As always happy reading!

Wow. Just wow. The first book was my favorite read of 2022, and now this has the top spot for 2023.

We get more world building and looks inside how magic works here. The slow burn hits all the right spots and when it gets going, it gets hot. Can we say 👏LEATHER SHADOW DADDY👏 Emrys has the rizz okay?

We get to see more of the FMCS battle with mental health, she really goes through it in this book.

All in all it's a fantastic read and I can't wait for book 3.

I received this book as an Arc last night and I consumed it in less than 24 hours. I love the world that Lyra has created. There are so many similar themes and Character types in this series to some of my favorite fantasy novels all combined into one. I love the unknown origin theme and the morally grey character theme that is a majority
Of this book. I love the self discovery that Lyra has had after going from being basically imprisoned her entire life. I was devastated at loss of a certain character last book but felt Lyra did a great job of tying that relationship up and calling it what it was. Emry’s backstory was heart wrenching and connected me to a deeper understanding of him and why he has done the things he has done. The supporting characters had
Beautiful stories as well. I love the use of all the different mythical creatures and the slow discovery of them in this world. The ending was gutting but I’m excited to see what Lyra had in store for us next.

Wow. Just wow. This sequel of Lyra Asher Heart of the Marked is outstanding. Its alot better than the first book which was great too. The character development and the plots and world building is amazing. I'm truly sucked in the story of Emrys and Selene and I need more. Thank you for letting me be an Arc reader again. It's truly great to see the growth. And it's rewarding. Just wow. Loved!!!

What a sequel!!

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I’m telling y’all this is the year of either amazing debuts or amazing sequels but indie authors are winning the game!! And Queen of the Broken is absolutely no exception!! This is a definite must read for anyone who is looking for a plot that doesn’t quit, true enemies to lovers, no holds bared strong female leads, an amazingly supportive but still willing to go full alpha male lead, and side characters you simply won’t be able to get enough of!! Highly recommend!! Can’t wait for book 3!! If you’d like a more in depth review though keep reading, note that there may be spoilers for book one below though!

This book picks up right after Cassandra comes into her new powers as Selene, and when I tell you that I was literally hooked from page one I am not lying!! Without giving to much away… this plot is amazing. We’ve got war, we’ve got dragons, we’ve got rebellion, we’ve got slow burn romance (at least for one of characters, the other already knows what they want their just waiting for their other half to catch up). Also if you’re someone who loves world building and in depth descriptions allowing you to picture this world as if someone is holding a photograph in your mind then this book has just that!! I mean I’m not sure what this book doesn’t have, because the plot truly is a page turner until you hit the very end and even then you’re just gonna be begging for more!!

Of course we cant forget our characters though! Starting with our main girl Selene!! Man has she been through the ringer!! Honestly though I loved her growth in this book. I’ll admit while I loved her in book 1 there was just something not fully clicking for me with her but in this book she absolutely stole the show!! And I love how she tackled grief in this book, because I’m sure at least most of us have experienced some type of major grief in our lives and I like that in this book Selene didn’t just bury it and continue on being a bad A never thinking of Wes again. I enjoyed that she felt her emotions that were shown her as being a warrior one second and then having something trigger her memory and having her spiral the next and I loved that because it felt REAL. And I was able to connect with her so much more because of that! I also love though that even though it seemed like pretty much everyone ever had betrayed her she was starting to trust again not just blindly or naïve like but with hesitance and forcing people to earn it. And her powers!! I loved her powers!! I mean… WOW!! Selenes whole character was just amazing and clearly I could go on and on but to avoid spoilers I’ll stop there and let you read for yourselves!! Of course we can’t forget our leading man… Emerys!! Gosh I mean talk about just the right amount of I’m soft for her but feral around pretty much anyone else I don’t seem worthy!! I loved him in book one and was so glad to see more of him in this book!! I mean the way he cared for Selene, and supported her, all while still allowing her room to grieve and to grow without being overbearing!! I loved it! I loved that he understood her being untrusting of him and worked to earn that trust!! I loved that he was willing to sit back and wait on the romantic feelings he had for her! That he was willing to recognize she had been through trauma she needed to work through, but that wasn’t gonna stop him from trying to win her over and throwing in a flirty remark here and there!! Honestly all the characters in this series are amazing!!

Overall, this book is a stunner of a sequel and I highly recommend it for all my romantasy fans who like their female leads monstrous and your male leads just as monstrous!!

HAPPY READING📖📖

🌟 ARC REVIEW 🌟

I'm kind of on a reading slump, so it took me way too long to finish this book. Not because I didn't like it, but because I just didn't feel like reading was something I wanted to do. But when I started again, I loved it as much as I loved the first one.

I really loved to know more about the characters. I love what Selene is becoming, more on a gray side than before and I think that now I love her even more than before.
Minka is still one of my favourite and I learned to love more Emrys, maybe he took the place of Wesley in my heart, not yet sure about it. And Ric is exactely the character I was waiting for, I really love him, his story, I don't know but I just want to hug him so bad.

I think that putting the other POV in the story was a great choice, because you can learn more about what's happening in the world, not just in Selene POV. I always love when an author puts this kind of chapters in a book, it gives something more to the story.

There are so many other things that I loved about this book, I think that the battle scenes were well done and I'm always thirsty for blood in a fantasy book.
A mantion of honor to the spicy in the book, it was just like I love it, not the spicy put there just to fill the pages, but the spicy that's good and that makes sense!

This book is full of emotions, we have grief, love, hope, anger, hate. And you can really feel everything, nothing is left behind.

As the last time I found some similarities with the Blood and Ash series from Jennifer L. Armentrout, but again the story follows its own path and I'm really glad for this. 'Cause I love them both, but in these books there's something more that speaks to my heart. Maybe because I love Selene endlessly and she doesn't get on my nerves.

I'm already ready for book three. Can't wait to read it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars!! What an epic sequel to Heart of the Marked!

Queen of the Broken was everything I hoped it would be and more. I could NOT put it down!! We pick up right where we left off with Heart of the Marked with Selene struggling with the events that transpired at the end of the first book. She is grieving and struggling to come to terms with who she really is, but she has her friends to help her through the change. With their help, she’s able to train her power and strength and help the rebellion.

I literally loved every word of this book! I loved the expansion of the world building and the expansion of powers described. Selene is an AMAZING FMC and I just loved reading about her growth throughout this book. She is strong, fearless, and would do anything to help her friends. She and Emrys are literally EVERYTHING to me! The way he talks to her just makes me melt. The way he literally waited for her for 500 years… I just love them so much. They are perfect. It was enemies-to-lover-ing in ALL the right ways and the SPICE 🔥 Just…. *chef’s kiss.* I suspected from the first book what their relationship would be and I was ECSTATIC to find out I was right!

The side characters are also the best ❤️ Minka, Ric, Cordelia. I need more of them and I really hope we get their POVs in the next book :)

With the way this book ends… just beware there IS a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the next book to come out! Selene Kaida Choryrth is my QUEEN and I fully support every decision she makes. I love and support a morally grey queen 🖤

Thank you Lyra Asher for the opportunity to be on this ARC team! These are my honest opinions and reactions for Queen of the Broken 🌙

Oh my goodness. Queen of the Broken had me up late, flipping pages, and at the edge of my seat throughout the whole book.

We continue following our FMC through her self-discovery journey after the heart-wrenching cliffhanger of book 1. She continues learning who she truly is, who her friends are, and what strengths she possesses. We see developments and depth in her friendships that were introduced in book 1. The banter between our leading lady and her love interest was perfection, leaving me laughing and desperately wanting to see what happens next. I love a good enemies to lovers romance with a morally grey mc.. swoon 🥰

As much as a loved book 1 of the series, book 2 was that much better. There was more action, more banter, more adventure, and more spice. More lots of things. The plot twists and surprises kept the book fast-paced and captivating. Lyra continues the series with amazing world building, detailed action scenes, and heartwarming relationships. The ending has my heart hurting and needing book 3 right away.

A fantastic continuation of the story! As always, Lyra has a way of making even the most heartbreaking scenes beautiful.

Not only is the main plot awesome, but I love the messages woven in. There must be darkness for there to be light. Find your power, believe in it and own it. Never stop fighting for people who cannot fight for themselves. The unconditional love of the found family in one of the scenes near the end made me cry. I love these characters, Minka is the best friend anyone could ever have, and Ric is so funny.

Selene continues to explore her gifts and the depths of what she can do. She is done being a pawn in so many beings’ quest for power, and has become a complete bada$$!

The gods have returned. The world will soon fall to ruin if the dark powers that be succeed in their quest. The people are ready to fight, with the help of the gods and Selene, will they succeed? There are some big battle scenes, really good spice and some very satisfying kills in this book. I can’t wait for the last book of the series. So good, this is a totally binge-worthy series!

Incredible. This was everything I needed to put my heart back together after the first book. Lyra, you did it again!!

At the end of book one, Selene is left broken and lost in the wake of the world as she knew it.. shattering. She is wracked with guilt from not doing more to save someone she grew to adore and trying to piece herself back together after finding out she’s not who she thought she was.

Emrys takes her to a safe place, where she meets back up with Minka and starts to learn to use her new abilities. Making so new friends along the way, that become more like family, she starts to come into her own. It’s a struggle wrestling with your own demons but Emrys is there every step of the way. (Their relationship is something special)

I loved everything about this book and it exceeded my expectations. If you want a book that’s action packed and spicy too.. look no further. Also, we love a Queen entering her villain era and I am here for it! So excited to see what’s next!

Fun, flirty and heartfelt.

After Heart of the Marked, I really was expecting one thing to happen (iykyk), so I was right there with her during her grief and healing journey. However, I felt like Selene truly shined in her vengeance and thirst for justice, and it’s is so fascinating to read about (albeit heartbreaking all the same).

As for my Lord of Nightmares, I can read Emrys read a bottle of freaking shampoo and I would eat it up! And despite these two lovely souls making me tear up, I really think they are such a great team, their flirtiness is everything!

Also, everyone needs a friend like Minka, girl is just a pocket of sunshine with a side of snark that is just so so perfect! Her and Ric were cracking me up.

Overall such a fun read! Big thanks to Lyra for sending me an Arc. Cannot wait to see what these two bloody thirsty crazies get up to in Blood of the Divine! I’m ready for the chaos!

Captures your attention quickly!

There is plenty of action in this book. Selene and her crew definitely know how to kick some ass! It's full of suspense watching Selene learn how to use her new powers. Not only pushing herself physically but mentally and emotionally has been a struggle the author lets you see.

Selene is struggling with her view of herself and the guilt she has with Wesley. As much as it sucks to read her struggles, I like that the author still has him playing a large part in her life. Thankfully she's accepted Emrys who helps pull her out of her darkness. Could have used a little more yummy scenes in my opinion. You got some good ones and then others seemed rushed.

Can't wait for the next book to be released. Hopefully Selene finds her balance of being the Queen the people need and the monster of vengeance her people deserve!

ARC REVIEW;

Wow. She’s done it again!

I had high hopes and I WAS NOT disappointed.
The MFC is the definition of rage and I’m LIVING for it!
I’m already just sitting staring at a wall in wait for the next book because THAT ENDING. 😩🤚🏻

The representation of mental health and internal struggles in this book makes you really feel with the characters. They all struggle with their own personal battles and it is written so well, but not OVER written. Like you feel like you are struggling along with them, if that even makes sense. You also, grow, learn, laugh and thrive with them. It’s beautifully mixed.

The world building, and plot building is done SO well also.

Please, if you have not, just give these books a chance! 🖤

I was lucky enough to get an ARC and this is my honest review💚
Queen of the Broken is book 2 in the Moons of the Divine series.
An absolute brilliant continuation of Heart of the Marked!

•Selene’s struggles with her mental health after the events of book 1 and coming to terms with exactly who she is. I fell in love with her even more than I already was.
•Elric was a fun addition to the group. His banter with each person was one of my favorite things about him.
•Cordelia is a beautiful half human/half siren and I cannot wait to know more about her. As well as see how her relationship with Minka transforms in book 3.
•Minka really bloomed into an amazing character. While she was great in HotM, she becomes her own person. All while being a tiny badass.
•And now for my favorite man, my book husband, my leather daddy…EMRYS🔥🫠 Learning about his past had me in TEARS. I love a damaged man and my gods is he damaged. He deserves so much but doesn’t believe it.

I cried from the very beginning of the book and many times throughout(which is how I like my books to do me). Lyra outdid herself with this one💚💚
If you’re on the fence about reading this series, get off of it and go download these wonderful books!

This series and especially this book leaves me wanting more from it. I kept wondering if the author was an angry person in real life with the way she wrote Selene’s character. I’m not opposed to four-letter words being used in a book to get a point across, but the way the FMC uses them constantly just takes away from the strength and leadership she should be developing and showing. Honestly, I thought Minka was a much more interesting character with the determination she showed to overcome her history.

Emrys played a great MMC as the tall, dark and broody Fae. He keeps trying to win his mate over even when she is slamming doors in his face. He’s been watching over her from the beginning, despite his own hurdles.

This book went above and beyond my expectations. Seeing our FMC grow into who she is and be absolutely FERAL! love it. I love having the dark elements with good morals. Lyra touched on the grief and pain of loosing everything you thought was true and becoming a whole new person so well, it actually pained me. I felt so bad for our FMC. I feel more in love with our side characters because Ric and Minka truly make the book even better and would absolutely love a spin off of their characters as well ( wink wink). This is one of my favorite romantasy series right now and i am DYING for the next book and all the rage Selene will bring.

To anyone fighting an invisible war inside their minds.

I’ll keep it short because I don’t want to hint at anything this second book holds : PICK IT UP IMMEDIATELY AND READ IT 🔥🔥🔥

Queen of the Broken was a freaking masterpiece 🙌🏻

I was not prepared for the expanded worldbuilding, the flawless character development, the raw and heartbreaking emotional journey, the unmatched devotion that was shown 🫠

And the banter … it is a masterclass and Emrys is the teacher 🔥 and the side characters must be saved at all cost !!!

Amazing with a capital A ✨
Unexpected with a capital U ✨
Galvanising with a capital G ✨

I absolutely loved this book! I was heartbroken at the end of book one with the cliffhanger, I needed to know what was going to happen next and Lyra killed it on book two.
There is epic world building, the main character Selene is dealing with her new found identity and the loss of her love, learning to deal with grief and overcome obstacles. There's forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and spice. This book has it all and Selene is one of my favorite female main characters! Give it a read, you won't regret it!

I liked it, it's a good story with lots of action and super heros and heroines, but it was too much of a downer for me (Wesley...gads!) without enough happy (not sex, just happy). I could have done without the use of the "F" word being used so much (it was overkill), the hot sex scenes were redundant, editing could have been better, and I'm not sure why Em was always described as "scarred", when it really wasn't needed. We know he was handsome albeit scarred, so again, too much focus on some things is a turn off with good characters.

Lyra did it again!!! This book….the character development. The multiple plot twists in a short period of time. The detailed fighting scenes…..WOW!!!!! The details Lyra got into with the mental struggles the FMC went through most of the book were done perfectly, not over done at all. The slow burn made me want to throw my kindle across the room!! I can’t wait to see how she continues this story and how the FMC kicks some more ass!!

I was blessed to receive an ARC of this book!!

Holly Sh!t!!!! Talk about a cliffhanger 😩 wow. This was awesome. Loved the story and character building. Selenes internal battle to not let the darkness consume her. The constant tug and pull with Emme. I just couldn't get enough! Can't wait for book 3! The withdrawals are gonna be long with this one. Thank you Lyra for the opportunity to ARC this story. Received ARC! I can honestly say once again Lyra has not disappointed! As a member of the street team I was gifted with wonderful snippets of quotes (which were wonderful) but nothing prepared me for the actual book. Heart of the Broken was one of my only five star reads last year so I had high hopes for this sequel and Lyra did NOT disappoint! The journey, angst, pain, growth and the love is worth every minute it takes to read this book! 10/10 would recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised with Book 1 but this one… this one was even better! How is there always SO much happening?
And we have dragons AND sirens?? Yes please!

Lyra does an amazing job of making you feel connected with these characters and taking you on this crazy adventure with them.

Definitely lots of spice in this one too 🥰

At first this book took me a minute to get into but probably because I’ve been reading dark romance instead of fantasy none stop. With that being said this was a good read after my internal hurdle. The character Selene definitely had it hard but she was strong through the whole thing. I loved the concept of the book there is a lot going on in it.
