Yes, you have apiece of me , but I still believe I can be free.
- Where We Actually Stand, Sara Islam

I was very happy when Sara reached out to review her book! It is always a pleasure when budding authors reach out for a layman's opinion :).

Scribbles a short compilation of heartfelt poems , is split into three sections:
- Fear & Weakness
- Love & Complications
- Aimless Notions

A short and easy read, taking you on a journey from inner fears, being in and falling out of love to discovering passions and goals. I flew through the poetry as the language used was simple and easy to understand. The poems were to the point where readers would be able to relate to a majority of them. While reading I could see how Sara put in hard work and thought for each piece. There were many where I felt that she wrote them for me and could understand the thoughts which were running through my mind. Each piece had rhyme and rhythm to it- because of this technique I enjoyed reading each one aloud (well in my mind haha).

Some of my favorites from the collection were:
- Lifeless City
- Never Alone but Always Lonely
- The Girl in the Mirror
- Overthink
- Her Name is Anxiety
- Excluded
- Heal
- The Night
- Frustration
- Expectations
- Walking on Strings
- Gold Chains

I am thankful that I could reach out to Sara whenever I had a recommendation or questions about her writing styles/techniques.

So, if you're confused, heart broken, or need some motivation then this collection of poetry will speak volumes to you !

This is a very beautiful collection of short poems, it's a very short book which I completed in less than an hour, the book is divided into three parts and one of my most favorite was the second part where the author talks about love and it's complications in a very beautiful way! She expresses her thoughts with words which are so relatable and I felt so frozen at times because I can totally feel what the author was trying to depict. My most favorite poems are, "Long Awaited" and "The Day We Meet", the third part is not very particular but here the author talks about some random topics and events one encounters. Overall, I must say it was beautiful to read and definitely a page turner because after each poem I was intrigued more. The best thing is, the poems are simple and very easy to understand even if you are a beginner then also you can easily relate. Will definitely recommend.

Usually, I'm not a fan of poems, but this book is incredibly amazing. There are no words that I can say would describe how awesome this book is and how relatable these poems are. It's like Sara is speaking on behalf of us she's aware of what we feel, and she's telling us," Don't worry guys, I got you." literally all of the unspoken words that we couldn't say is written here, so please, let's raise a toast to the most extraordinary writer I've ever seen because this is absolutely a masterpiece.✨️✨️✨️

Sortie, I enjoyed this poetry book. The wording and diction that is simple and evident satisfy me in pouncing into every single page that I couldn't put the book down.

There are 3 subjects that the author referred to in this book, which are;

𝟙. 𝔽𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕤 & 𝕎𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕤
𝟚. 𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖 & ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤
𝟛. 𝔸𝕚𝕞𝕝𝕖𝕤𝕤 ℕ𝕠𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤

I won't say a lot about this book and make it a spoiler, so those poetry lovers go grab this book as your sweet bestie.
This was a quick read and easy so I recommend this to anyone who loves poems, especially beginner poetry lovers, or those who want to get themselves into poems, pick this one as your first step!

My favorite line:
✨ I don't want to be erased
from people's minds.
another person that can be replaced,
a lost memory that nobody finds.

I want to be there.
I want to be around.
Being forgotten is something I can't bear.
I don't want to be an unheard sound.

I want my memory to always be alive,
to receive recognition.
I don't want to just survive.
I want to be my own limited edition.
