a solid effort for the time period (this was published in 1989 ) - but well in need of an update, not only regarding changes in the town of amherst physically, & adjusting prices for inflation - but also regarding the scholarship that's been done about emily since 1989 regarding her supposed seclusion & her relationships, particularly with susan dickinson. letters & poetry found since 1989 are of such importance to her story, as well as documentation from friends. in short, good - but needs an update to be great.
