'🅶🅾🅻🅳 🅸🅽 🅻🅾🅲🅺🆂' Is a dark fairy telling romance book by new to me author Alta Hensley. POV: Multiple , First person.

My anticipation levels skyrocketed when this landed on my kindle shamelessly turning me into a hermit, inhaling this as fast as my eyes could read. So easy to get into harder to put down.

In this we meet the three over protective , over bearing Berret brothers and the sister they love more than anything in the world and one they would do anything for, even if it involves kidnapping a girl (Goldie Winters) she'd befriended against their wishes.

Leaving society behind them, turning their backs on the turf wars and their family bussiness back to the mountain where they were raised and bred.



Neither of them took into the account that they were all attracted to her, and she never took into account that these three rough men wrung something out of her making it hard for her to choose just one.

I’m a sucker for excluded wilderness living, and this infatuation I have pulled me under its spell with this book, throw in the three gruff handsome men and a sister they would do anything for, even kidnap and I lapped it up as though my life depended on it.

I just wish it was longer, I wanted to stay in this isolated world longer.

After losing their parents in an age-old family rivalry, the Barrett brothers decide to return to Barrett Mountain where they can live off-grid. To keep their sister from becoming too lonely on the isolated land, they decide to bring her a friend.

Though not lengthy or plot-intensive, there was enough to be an enjoyable read. I definitely would have enjoyed a few more steamy scenes, especially after the way the physical relationship began.

Well, that changed quickly?!?!? The three Barratt brothers are a force to be reckond with! Kidnap, punishment, and a whole lot of smex lead to a story with a surprisingly happy ending. Trigger warnings are to be heeded in this fairytale retelling. I would've like to see a little more of Goldies change of heart from being, well, just horny, to being in love.

Hello. This dark fairytale remix, Gold in Locks by Alta is sizzling! Thank you Alta I will never look at Goldie Locks and the Three Bears story the same way again. As Goldie learned why choose between three men when you can have them all.

To be honest out of the three brothers, Rye, Jay and Banks, I honestly would have a hard time picking a favorite. They each won me over in their own way. I loved their take charge, masculine personas. Each intimate scene was hotter than the next.

I could not get enough of the three brothers and Goldie. Once I started reading, I could not stop or would not stop if I wanted to. In fact, I finished this book in a matter of a few hours. Gold in Locks is a five-star recommended, spicy read from me!

Yes, they are beasts!
Yes, they do things that are contemptible, but... When you find out why they are doing them...
Let me just say this much, this looks at first like a typical 'bad boys - good girl' story, (with, oh so delicious bad boys and a strong, very 'good' girl!) but it turns out to be so much more.
It is about revenging wrongs, about family, difficult choices, but most of all about love in all it's variations, without labels. And that love as a foundation for a future in a cabin on a mountain...

Omg the Barrett brothers are going too make you lose your mind. Rye, Jay & Banks may make you cringe but the reason why they do the things they do will make your heart melt. This was a good story with great characters and the end, omg get your tissue’s ready. Definitely a book you definitely want too one-click.

The Barrett Brothers are fiercely protective when it comes to their little sister, Kit. After their parents were killed, the brothers are done with the family empire, the opium and marijuana business. They need to keep their sister safe from the competing Blackstone family, so they are retreating back to wilderness living on Barrett’s Mountain.

But Kit has befriended Goldie, the local herb lady who runs a quaint tea shop and holistic medicine. Despite several threats to stay away from each other, the ladies did not heed the brother's warnings and the decision was made that Goldie would be forced to come with them.








Secluded mountain live starts, but sadly it is not as peacefully as one would think or want.

I loved this adult themed fairytale.
The Barrett Brothers, Rye, Banks and Jay are trying to get themselves and their baby sister Kit out of the family business, that being the growing and selling of marijuana and opium.
The brothers have finally gotten their revenge on the family that murdered their parents.
And it’s now time for them to return to the secluded Barrett Mountain.
Where they and their sweet sister can try and live a more peaceful life.
What they don’t expect is Goldie Winters whom their baby sister adorns.
So what are three devoted brothers to do to keep their sister happy?
Kidnap Ms. Goldie of course.
I really liked each of the brothers. Each was intense in their own ways. Each was sweet as fit their characteristics. And each was fierce and loyal to one another,to their sister and to their loved ones.
Goldie was sassy and feisty. No matter what she was threatened with she was strong and capable.
She’s courageous and brave especially when she was first taken.
I loved the relationship between Goldie and Kit.
Each one of them had total opposite personalities.
But their friendship was unique and filled with love and sweetness.
I love dark retelling of fairytales and Ms. Hensley did it perfectly.
I enjoyed the storyline and plot very much!
Filled with gripping intense moments. A lot is hot sexiness.
But beware to have tissues on hand because you will definitely shed tears.
Yes I cried my eyes out.
So it’s not only a book to get lost into a fantasy about three sexy Irish men but provokes many other emotions as well.

“You’ve trespassed into our lives, Goldie. We’re never going to let you go.”

Goldie crosses paths with the Berret brothers when they go to her store to warn her to be far from their little sister who is a naive young woman. Goldie ignores the warnings and when she least expects she is swept away and taken to live in their cabin in the mountain to live as a captive and “serve them”.

While I don’t have trouble reading books where the MMCs are not good people, the way they treated Goldie in the beginning bothered and I don’t even know why. In the RH Alta decided to keep the hot scenes separated, no getting frisky with more than one brother at time, I confess I prefer when it comes to brothers.

It’s interesting that even having parts I didn’t fully enjoy, I really love Alta’s writing, so I can say I liked this story. You can expect all the hotness Alta knows how to write so well and a HEA with the guys doting on Goldie.

The Barrett brothers will do anything for family so when they decide it’s a good time to be away and spend some time out of the way of anyone they find it only fit to ask (meaning kidnap lol) Goldie, there sister le only real friend, purely for Kit lol. This book was a great retelling

First off, I love the cover! And I love the storyline of a girl getting kidnapped and whisked away, AND ending up with three hottie brothers. In case you were wondering, no group scenes. And the heroine gives in pretty easily to her life being upended. But the last like 30% is where a lot of the action is and things get intense. This was a fairly quick and enjoyable read for me.

Another amazing book by Alta.
The men are beasts with a heart of gold for their baby sister.
They will stop at nothing to give her what she wants.
As they try to rights the wrongs from their pasts and start a new life their past comes back to haunt them.
As a tragedy comes upon them they feel like they no longer deserve the light that they have been given.
Goldie was a simple shop owner making a living until she befriended Kit. Her life was flipped upside down but through it all and the fight she had in her she came to love the men and wouldn’t stop at nothing to prove it to them even though they pushed her away.

This book is a must read.

I wish I could give less than a star and still convey how much I disliked this book. I’m upset at whoever recommended it to me (luckily for that person I don’t remember who it was). I liked the potato shifter book 1000 times more because the spice in that was at least *consensual* Yup, you read that right.

This is a contemporary retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears where Goldie gets held hostage by three brothers who have a heroin trade and they take her to keep their little sister company?? And the Goldilocks part is she tries and likes each of them I guess. But it’s bad y’all. The first “spicy” scene is one of the brothers punishing her for leaving the house and he straps her behind (I cannot stress enough how this is something she does not want) and then sexually assaults her. The sexual assault is meant to be painful and punishment. She has not consented. I can get behind any dom-sub sitch where there is consent and safe words. This was not that. This was sexual assault the author tried to say Goldie got into eventually and was hot. It was not. I don’t know why I have to say this but sexual assault is not romance. Sexual assault is not erotica. I DNFed this so hard. I’m so upset I read any bit of it.

So, I had a totally different story in mind based on the books synopsis…. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anywhoodles, despite the error in my thinking the book is well written and though the description claims it’s a dark romance it wasn't too dark… I’d say more like a stormy grey than obsidian. 🤔

The book contains: 1 crazy AF kidnapping, 1 cherry popping “punishment”, 3 psycho brothers, 1 pseudo witch, 1 earth angel, and 1 cabin reno, all taking place on a privately owned massive mountain with ole Macdonald’s farm.

THERE WAS NOTHING WE WOULDN’T DO FOR BLOOD—NOTHING

While the story is a remake of a previously released story, there are so many new and different things; it is an entirely new tale. Usually, if I have read a story, it all comes back to me when I start reading it again, but not this time. Don’t let the ‘previously released as Bride To Keep’ prevent you from reading Gold In Locks.

The story will have the Barrett Brothers, Rye, Banks, and Jay, exacting revenge against their sworn enemy, Cook Blackstone. Cook is responsible for the death of their parents in a boating explosion that also affected Kit, their baby sister. Kit has changed emotionally and mentally since the accident. The brothers have decided to destroy Cook and then move to the family’s land, where they will be primarily self-sustaining. There is only one major issue: Kit has befriended Goldie Winters. They will warn Goldie to leave Kit alone, but that doesn’t seem to scare Goldie away.

“Barrett Brothers were out for blood. The turf war between the Barretts and the Blackstones had grown to gruesome and epic proportions.”

“Sweetheart, we don’t take demands from anyone. You don’t want to poke the bear, Goldie Guinevere Winters. You may think you’re strong. But we will always be stronger.”

The brothers will decide that maybe Goldie will be good for Kit and make plans for her to join them on Barrett Mountain—not by invitation, but by force. She will be given the option to accept what is happening or die. The new life is stifling for Goldie. When told she won’t be allowed to go outside, she attempts to disobey them—and pays the price. The brothers are hardened men, and their one goal is to keep Kit safe and happy. Goldie is part of that plan, so if she decides to disobey, they will punish her. She was promised they would not force themselves upon her, but she would adhere to their rules.

I liked the characters and interaction, and while Kit sometimes seems childlike, she is an intelligent woman. She sees what is happening between Goldie and her brothers and is happy for them.

“Life is too short not to love when we are given the chance. It doesn’t matter if it is one man or three. Your heart is big enough for all of them. They are waiting. All you have to do is let them in.”

The story has life, death, danger, dominance, submission, and discipline. There is some violence and kidnapping, but no forced sexual encounters; it is sometimes dubious consent.

The Barrett brothers are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their younger sister safe from the reality of the world they live and work in. After their parents were murdered, they vowed to protect her at all cost. After seeking revenge, they have plans to move back to their mountain and stay there but their sister has become attached to a women that works a shop in town. When their threats to Goldie to leave their sister alone didn’t have the effect they want.. they decide to take her with them to the mountain cabin and threaten to 🔫 her if she tries to escape, tells their sister she’s there against her will, or even acts like it wasn’t her choice to come with them…

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but it really grabbed me within the first 2 chapters. The guys are the typical alpha, over protective big brother types and only wanted to do what was best for their baby sister. However, they didn’t expect Goldie to throw them for a loop. I enjoyed watching their relationship change. Their extreme attraction to Goldie was steaming up the pages with tension and they couldn’t fight it for long. And the wood shed scene… dear god 🥵 I’m just going to leave it at that.. I wouldn’t even know where to begin… probably fanning myself and looking for dry panties. 😝

Gold in Locks: A Dark Fairytale Romance by Alta Hensley is the retelling of Goldie Locks and the 3 bears. Rye, Banks and Jay Barrett are 3 brothers whose criminal life has caught up with them. With a plan in play their first order of business is their little sister Kit who since her parent's murder is just a tad special.  Kit likes spending her time at a spiritual store ran by a self proclaimed witch Goldie. Goldie was left her store by her grandmother who is recently deceased. Goldie likes Kit but when one of her bothers stops by to warn her away Goldie is appalled. When the plan changes Goldie can't believe what is happening to her. Initially I thought I had read this story before but boy oh boy was I wrong. Just hang in there and keep reading. This story took a turn I didn't expect. Goldie did find that the brothers stirred something sexual in her. The feelings made her extremely confused but she had bigger fish to fry. The brothers initially just want Goldie to stay away from their sister because they thought she was taking advantage of her. However they come up with a different plan for Goldie. Falling for her wasn't the plan but there was something that stirred them up sexually. A good story with a bittersweet ending. Wouldn't mind a little novella about where they went from there. A 4 star read for me.

I have to say, Alta Hensley never fails to make my dark & twisty soul sing with her stories. I've been reading a bit more RH books these days, however, they aren't a preference (even the reverse variety) since I don't like to share my toys, but I LOVED Gold In Locks a lot. The Barrett brothers are definitely morally gray heroes, but they are protective of their little sister, and it's in those moments that you see they can be sweet. They're done with the family business & gotten revenge against their enemies, so off they go to live with their sister on their isolated land. There is one problem though, their sister has a friend Goldie, who ends up kidnapped by the brothers for their sister LOL (I know kidnapping isn't funny but it is funny the way it sounds). I'm not going to lie, there were moments in the beginning that their actions did enrage me (morally gray remember) but it's not long before I start to fall in love with them. There's definitely next level heat in these pages with three HOT brothers and a girl who can't resist them, so have your fan ready. Anyway, I'll just stop here so y'all can hit those one click buttons since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A Goldilocks and the three bears retelling but make it...spicy?

Yes. Please!

A dark fairytale romance filled with morally grey men who are the very definition of a bear. Grumpy and territorial, sweet and cuddly. I'm swooning just thinking about it.

Goldi is a self-proclaimed witch, with zero talent but a knack for making others believe she does. When Goldi becomes close with the sister of three grumpy dangerous brothers who want her far away from their sister, things get a little dark...fast. Kidnapped and held hostage to be a companion to their sister, these three men are determined to keep Goldi up on their secluded mountain with them, forever. But their dark past and bad deeds catch up with them all and just as the saying goes..
life never goes as planned...

I flew through this book in a total of 7 hours. I could not put it down.

The spice level was actually a 3/5 for me but the book rating was a 4/5! I loved the twist on the retelling and of course...the men I would've died for.

But Hensley took a short story and had you biting your names, getting those warm fuzzy feelings, and then ripping your heart out in all one go.

And I was here for it.

This is a twisted, dark, reverse Goldilocks story. In the original tale she stumbled upon the three bears, but this time Goldie was taken against her will and the three villains didn't really give her a choice or ask her if things were just right. The twist is great, especially for the RH world.

The Barrett Brothers; Banks, Rye, and Jay would do anything for their little sister, Kit, even kidnap the one friend she's made to keep her happy. The brothers were moving off the grid to protect their sister and to get out of the dangerous business that killed their parents, but knowing how isolating it would be, they decided to bring her a friend....why not? These were dangerous men and one last act of kidnapping wasn't any different to things they've done before.

Each brother is just slightly different, but that is to be expected as Goldie's time with each one is slightly different. She might have been kidnapped, but as she soon discovers; one is hard, one is sweet, and one snuggles just right...okay I couldn't resist, but like any RH, they all give her everything she needs.

This twist on an old tale is dark, kinky, and at times-really sweet. The moments that Kit and Goldie spend together is that soul sister bonding and you truly understand why the brothers did what they did. It also makes the ending hit just a little bit harder.

Gold in Locks was such a fun read. I loved the whole idea of the premise (enemies to lovers, RH) and Goldie had quite the sass. The brothers were delightfully grumpy in all the right ways. And Kit was adorable. Wait, this IS an Alta Hensley book, so yeah, the guys are all alphaholes who are completely fine with kidnapping and it was scary and suspenseful and…I can’t do it. I was way too entertained by this story and it’s now on the shortlist of books I enjoy rereading.

This was so good! These 3 men are awesome and extremely hot! Their dynamic with Goldie is interesting and definitely causes problems and also with their sister in the house it does cause some other issues but it's so good. I was glued to it and almost read it in a day.. this is obviously a goldilocks and the 3 bears retelling and reverse harem and I absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend

I'm in love with the Barrett Brothers!

Rye, Banks and Jay Barrett only care about two things, taking care of their little sister, Kit and getting out of the family business and back to the mountains. When they find out that Kit has gotten close to Goldie, they warn Goldie away from Kit. But, when she is taken to their cabin on the mountain to be there to "serve" the brothers and be a friend to Kit, things get crazy!

I am so in love with this book!!! I love every book Alta writes, but I think this is my new favorite!

Wow! This book was amazing! It is the first book that I’ve read from this author and I look forward to reading more from her! This story is dark and emotional at times. The Barrett brothers only care about two things, getting revenge for their parents deaths and protecting their little sister, Kit. To them nothing else matters. But then comes along Goldie and her sassy attitude and she changes things. She has become a friend to their little sister so when they decide to move back to the Barrett home in the mountains they decide to “take” their sisters new friend. They want Kit to be happy, right?

This book has angst, heartbreak, secrets, suspense, drama, action, revenge, spice and ends with a happily ever after for Goldie, Rye, Jay, and Banks. This was a quick read and I was able to finish it in less than a day. If you like a loose fairytale retelling with depraved and delicious men then I highly recommend!
