Tess was born a witch into a large family of witches. As the youngest of eight, she often felt disconnected from her siblings with the large age gap between them. During a visit to out-of-town family, she met the person who would become her ride-or-die best friend. Shaye was a human with no knowledge of the paranormal world, forcing Tess to keep her heritage a secret.
Her magic has always helped guide her with nudges and the occasional premonition. When she discovers her friend has moved in with a vampire and that danger is approaching, Tess packs up and goes to Tennessee to check in. After years of having to keep her witchy secret, she is finally able to tell her friend everything about her life. She can only hope that Shaye will forgive her for not telling her sooner.
In Rockfort, she discovers a place that feels like home. As she tries to find her place in town, she meets her own mate, Sam. Their courtship is fast, as is often the case with fated mates. Sam and Tess begin planning what their future may hold, but when Sam is attacked, it will take the whole family to try to save him.
A Hairy Situation is the second book in the Nightwood Clan series. There is some overlap between books. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, you will get the most out of the book after reading the first in the series, Bite Me Again, as many of the characters make an appearance.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note 2: This is a series. There are three books for now. Bite me again is the first book. A Hairy Situation is the second book. Pointed Love is the third book for now, releasing soon. Please read in order, as they are interconnected.
Triggers: death by hunting, grief stricken death, reference to violence, rape, bullying.

This time we have Tess and Sam's story. I still really enjoyed this one, though it didn't have as such action and suspense moments as the first book did. Also I think s** covered a lot of the scenes which could've made the book shorter.
So we have Tess, witch, and friend of Shaye's visitng and coming to check if she's okay, due to her recent involvement with Rolf. But then the stars turn and she gains a new boyfriend in the form of Sam, a brewery owner, also a wolfie at night.
It's all smooth waters, most of the chapters are a recap from the last book (Which could've also been shortened). But then the troubles come back to haunt Sam, and Tess and then it's all hell breaking loose again as they try to find their peace once more - with the addition of new couples and friends helping them out, including a spotlight focus on Tess's family.
- Ah I really did enjoy this story a hell lot. Even though some chapters were lacking and could've been cut - I still enjoyed it. The writing, the characters expansion from the last book, the action, family shenanigans, couple shenanigans, and just general steam and romance from our main couple, plus knowledge on paranormals more than made my happy heart a many, to enjoy the book completely.
I definitely look forward to other books in the series.
I enjoyed this story. I really liked Tess in the first book of this series and was excited to read her journey to finding a mate, Sam. I love their relationship. This being the 2nd book in the series, I liked that it goes into more detail of the dynamics of the clan and the characters. I find all the characters to be quite interesting. This is an Enjoyable PNR.
I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in this series. I love how all the characters have come together in the night wood clan to become a family despite them being all diff kinds of magical ppl. As each pr find their mates and the family grows they bring their unique talents and strengths to the clan and mesh very well together. There's just enough danger and thrills to keep it interesting and entertaining without overwhelming the storyline. Little by little new characters wander in and end up adopted into the clan. This is a cute little town full of interesting and well developed characters. My only complaint is that some of the mates are finding each other to easily and perhaps a bit too fast but I'm hoping it's because something will happen as the series develops to make it necessary. Otherwise the mates needed a bit more conflict and events happening before getting together. As some are very old it wouldn't be realistic for this many to find their mates all at once in same town so suddenly. Looking forward to seeing how stories develop next. I received an arc copy from booksirens and this is my honest voluntary review.
If you read bite me again the first book in this series. You were introduced to most of the awesome characters in this story. They each have their own unique personalities! Each book is so much fun to read. Tess is a spunky young witch. She moved to town to be with her bff Shaye. At the time Shaye was a human empath healer. With some telepathic powers. Then she met Rolf a sexy vampire. He turned out to be her fated mate. In the first book she gets turned. Then when Tess meets Rolf's best friend Sam A sexy wolf shifter. Tess knew he was her fated mate! In this book Rolf has formed the clan The nightwood clan. The clan consists of all their friends and family. Tess takes Sam to meet her witchy family. On the way back Tess and Sam are attacked by the clans enemy. Sam is severely hurt! Can Tess and the clan save him! Especially when Tess learns her witch powers can't help him! You will love this super exciting, funny, thrilling, and scorching hot paranormal romance series!
This is book 2 in the nightwood clan series, this is Sam and Tessa's story. I loved their story and just loved them.
It's a other super quick read, filled with action, spice, vampires, found family, witches and so much more. Once I started I just couldn't put it down, it's a rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns.
The characters are great, the storyline is wonderful. I love how they are coming together and becoming a family. It's beautiful to witness. I can't wait to read the next part. Highly recommend.
Tess is a witch and shayes friend, she comes to visit and see if her friend is ok since her getting together with Rolf. But she ends up finding herself mated to Sam. That was a big surprise for her.
Sam is a brewery owner and a wolf, and is surprised to find out Tess is his mate. They both get on great. But life has other plans and things happen. Such a great read.
Hairy Situation by Harper Dakota is book 2 of the Nightwood Clan series, a paranormal romance with vampires, shifters, witches and more.
Tess is a witch but as the youngest sibling in her large family living in a town of extended family, she felt she had to move away and explore. Her friend Shaye brings her to visit where she meets wolf shifter Sam, her fated mate. This is their story as part of the Nightwood Clan.
I love that this story is about friends of all different kinds who join against evil and end up coming together to form a big family unit of newly formed mates. In theory you could read this story on its own, but I did find it good to have read the first so I would suggest starting there. These are short reads so you’ll find yourself wanting to jump right into the next book, thank goodness there are 6 because I need to know what happens next!
This was a really fun read with an almost whimsical feel, which surprised me because the cover looks more serious.
It went a little fast for me at some parts, like the battle with Vlad I expected it to be more drawn out and then when it was done, I had to look back at the blurb to see what the book was actually about.
But I really enjoyed this story and how all the different paranormal beings came together to form their own family and it's own mythology in this world.
This is my first novel from this author and I will definitely have to go back to read the first one in this series (though it can be read as a stand alone).
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A Hairy Situation is book two in the Nightwood Clan Series. This story partially follows some of the events which occurred in the first book, so there is a bit of an overlap.
Tess and Sam were cute together. They both knew what they wanted and took the bull by the horns the first moment they met. They knew they were mates and they were not going to let anything stop them from being together. We get a lot of relationship development through the first half of the book. Establishing them as a solid unit.
We do get some action and excitement which brings some problems for this couple, but it doesn't overwhelm the storyline.
This one does have a lot of spicy scenes in it, so if this is something you love then this book is for you.
A Hairy Situation is Book 2 of the Nightwood Clan series. This is the first book I have read from this author but definitely not the last. I can not wait to read more in this series. This story centers around Tess and Sam, a witch and a wolf shifter who find that they are fated mates. There are quite a few members of this new clan and they all seem to have found their mates, or do in the book. The members of the clan have to faceoff against an old enemy and his minions. Family and friends are upper most important in this book. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers.

I 💓💓 this book. This is the second book, in the " Night wood Clan." Please start with, book one, " Bite Me" that way, you will get familiar, with these character's. I 💓 Tessa and Sam. This book is a Paranormal, and has witches, vampire, age gap, humans, secrets, magic, danger, Found family, slow burn , action, twists and turn, page turner, entertaining, wonder characters, HEA, unpredictable , realistic, soul mates, different Paranormal being, Steamy, and more. This is Definitely, A Must Read Book and Series. I Can't Wait, to read more and see what else, she comes up with. This book and series, is Definitely, on my reread list!!
This is the second book in this series. I really like how all the characters are developing throughout this series. Sam and Tess recognized they were mates in the first book and this book goes deeper into their relationship. Along the way they run into a few problems that make the book exciting and hard to put down. The author keeps all her characters active in each book of this series, which is something I really like, and then gives us teasers about new characters that she is introducing to the clan.

I like the characters and the overall idea of this series. It has a lot of potential. I like the world building. I give it actually about 3.5 stars. I couldn’t completely connect with it but that shouldn’t necessarily reflect on anyone else. You also need to read the first book in the series before you read this one as there is a bit of overlap.
Tess was a witch that had visions and Shaye’s best friend (sister) moved to be with Shaye and Rolf and help with rhe battle against Rolfe’s father. Met her mate and was Sam Rolf’s best friend and owned the local brewery. On the way back from visiting her family they were attacked and Sam was put under an evil spell with the mate bond and the clan bond he was saved by Shaye and Doc. Good book!
I love the continuation of the story from another set of the groups perspective. I love the mix between action, spice, and the homely feel of this book. The authors world building and character development are beautifully written. The reason for being only 4 stars is the first couple of chapters are a full repeat of the last portions of the previous book.
This is Tess and Sam's story and is told I’m a POV. This is a story that is building up their family. Their is a little bit of sugar and spice. Amazing read for paranormal readers.
Another really enjoyable read in this Nightwood Clan series. Following Tess and Sam's story as they figure out there place in this family was very entertaining. Unusual, sexy fun read.
The Nightwood Clan continues...and gets it's feet under them. The characters are likable. There wasn't much action in this one. I'm more partial to slow burn Mate build up stories.
This book was an enjoyable read, it has good plot, great characters and I enjoyed the story. Tess & Sam are a great couple and their relationship is so sweet. Good quick read.
This is the second book in the series, it was likeable and enjoyable with new characters being introduced as well as continuing with the characters from the first book. I liked it and wonder where the series will go next.
This is tessa and sams story. Even though i dont think u have to read them all,i would suggest reading them in order as it flows so well and you meet these characters in book 1. I love the supernatural, mates stories and this one is no exception I cant wait to read the rest of the series.
I'm really enjoying this series. This is the second book and just like in book 1 I was drawn in to their paranormal world, I love that it's not over the top and everything seems 'normal' The mix of paranormal characters makes it interesting, it's all well thought out and written beautifully. You get not only the main characters story in these books but the whole clan as they develop and find their home together. Another great read 📚
