It's exactly what a beginner ought to look for. It introduces the hormonal heavy-hitters. Even I, as someone who is not a beginner, thought this "back-to-basics" exploration was helpful in someways. There were SO many times I wish she'd specify. But I totally understand--this system is complicated and the more specific she is, the easier a newbie, who'd likely read a 70 page book on endocrinology, would be. A light read, really. But I enjoyed it. Good thing she offers a "Find Out More" section in the book listing 3 other books on endocrinology and one on juvenile diabetes.
